Guild Wars 2

Hello I don’t know if the server for classic guild wars is still down. Haven’t heard any news yet. But been trying get in classic guild wars one, but always saying connecting to areanet. Been like this for most of the day. So I uninstall the game to reinstall it thinking maybe it’s my computer. Every time i try to down load it still say the same thing. Not sure if it’s my computer or is the classic guild wars server still down.

I’ve already been waiting for awhile on support and still nothing. So I’m coming back and see if any one could help me out.

This has been a problem for me for over a week now and its been almost as long for my ticket. dont hold your breath the GW2 support team wont help GW1 players very much anymore. Its annoying but there isnt much we can do about it.

Same issue here…. I’m trying to reinstall the game client and it freezes in exactly the same spot shown on the picture in this thread.

Some players that are stalled trying to download GW2 have success using a VPN just to get past the stalled area. You might try that for GW.

I had the same issues when I tried to install it from my old CD’s, though when I tried to install it from the website’s download, it worked fine. Are you using a CD or the site download?

I did both and still be the same.

Make sure your firewall doesn’t block the Gw.exe. In addition, you could add the application to your anti-virus’ list of exceptions for the behaviour shield and see if that helps.

I’ve tried to install from physical disk, downloaded gwsetup.exe, turned firewall completely off, using a VPN…. nothing has got it to move one millimeter past that one spot….

Have you tried changing gwsetup.exe to gw.exe and running that? I don’t know, maybe it would work. Or changing the language to download?

I pretty much did what every one have said before getting help from support. None have work. Support did try other ways for the pass couple days none have work too. So really the only way that really fix my whole problem was doing a full window re formatting and cleaning every thing off my computer.

Now I have a nice fresh computer and guild wars one works like a charm.
