hello,

normally i play on 60/70 fps. i have a high end computer for it so it should be no problem. but yesterday all of a sudden i started having constant 4 fps. and it will not get higher then 7 anymore. i have done nothing different on my pc then i did last time. anyone has any idea what could cause a fps drop like that all of a sudden?

thanks

I am having the same issue. I have rolled back drivers from 13.10 beta to 13.9 and 13.4. All act the same. Running with all LOW settings, I still barely get 14+ fps with 99% load on both GPUs.

Looks like you may have something running in the background while you are playing the game check your task manager to see what’s going on, could also be a virus

Like Feirlista said, check to see if something is running in the background while you’re playing. After opening the game, minimize and open task manager. Load processes by CPU usage and see what’s taking all your resources.

Nothing running here. Fresh startup with nothing starting on startup. I have even tried to OC my gpu and it still bogs down.

I have tried disabling crossfire and still no luck. I’ve been playing BF4 beta without a single hiccup but not GW2. Pretty messed up really.

I’m having the same issue. Was fine on Saturday and then my FPS suddenly went from 50+ to below 10 the next day. Nothing was changed or installed. Tried getting new drivers, reinstalled the game, closed all unnecessary programs using the task manager… nothing works.

Going from best setting to best performance grants a 1-2 FPS increase. Definitely don’t think it’s a PC issue.

In this SS I changed to “Best Performance” and OC my gpu. Also not many people in LA. I have 2 gpus but I switched to windowed to disable crossfire so I could watch as I overclocked. Also the are almost no heavy processes running. CPU load is minimal.

I’m having a similar problem here. I usually get close to 60 FPS on medium settings, today it won’t go above 30. Switching to lowest settings, it still won’t go above 25-30, which seems particularly odd. My GPU says its running but it doesn’t feel like its working very hard (not getting very warm and low fan usage). Nothing is running in the background.

I disabled my graphics card and got twice the FPS with the integrated graphics—I was getting 60 FPS on low settings. I thought it was a problem with the card, but running other games had the card running hotter and the fan running (I don’t have anything really demanding on this laptop, so this was just with Torchlight II, but it ran without any problems with all the graphics options turned on). I have an Nvidia GeForce 750M and my laptop is running Windows 8.

Got my problem resolved. In the Nvidia control panel, I switched the preferences for GW2 from “High performance Nividia processor” to “Use global setting (Auto select: Nvidia GPU)”. Now the GPU is being used again and I’m back to my old performance.

Starfall, are you sure it is resolved? My one is default set to “Use global setting … etc.”

This won’t solve everyone’s problems, but with what Starfall said, generally if you have a dedicated graphics card, it is a good idea to disable the integrated graphics in your computer’s bios settings. Unless you are really using the integrated graphics card for something?

As a side note, try playing with the wvw/player number/quality sliders, those seem to get reset at strange times.
