Update: Issues persist.
Disconnects remain isolated to GW2, reporting error 7:11:3:191:101
Pingtests result in approximately 0-10% packet loss, 19-54 ping, and 1-101 jitter.

I have no idea what to try next. I’ll keep everyone posted once I try something.

same problems after internet guy came out and fixed everything, including a shiny new modem. everything else works just fine. GW2 doesn’t.

Observed: if I just stand still and don’t do anything but chat in the game, maybe look at menu screens, I never disconnect. if I use skills or interact with anyone else using skills, I have a higher chance of lag.

I was in the new zone during a champ fight. lag spikes half a dozen times with 2 total disconnects to the character select screen. after the champ was brought down I stayed in the same high-traffic area without using any skills. haven’t dropped out yet..

I asked a friend to help, here’s his reply:

I can certainly help you out as best I can.

We first have to isolate if the problem is in your house or outside of your house.

I’m going to assume your router is okay because you’ve been using that router for a while and its proven to work okay.

Here’s some initial questions I have.
Is there a difference between cable and wifi speeds?
Has this problem been happening for a while?
Is there an event that you noticed where this started occurring?

Inside your house issues:

  • Try to figure out if either your or Kay’s computer is eating up the bandwidth behind the scenes. Keep both machines off, then try a third computer and speed test the network
  • Try using only wifi or try only cable
  • You might even be able to bypass the router by just plugging directly into your modem, so check your speed without a router between you and the internet.

Issues outside your house:
Basically all these issues go through your ISP to troubleshoot.

  • Choose a couple consistent times for a week to check your speeds…like noon and midnight everyday for a week. Record the speeds for upload and download. I would use speedtest.net (checks speed) and pingtest.net (checks quality)
  • After you’ve gathered that info, it would be a good time to call your ISP and let them know your issues with the speed. Since they own the cable to your house, it their responsibility to uphold the contract.
  • They can often run tests from their side to also check the speeds.

This gives you a good starting point.

Each nice it’s getting progressively worse for me. Three nights ago, I’d disconnected maybe once every 90 min (no biggy). Two nights ago it disconnected 7 times in one night, and all of them happened during tower raids in WvW.

Last night I disconnected 4 times during the same Lowlands Keep raid. I actually made it back in time to kill the keep champion and stand in the circle, but then never got credit for it.

Tonight I’m disconnecting roughly every 15-20 min. The game is virtually unplayable.

Edit – Everything else works fine. All other games that require online access have no problems. It’s only Gw2, it’s on Anet’s end, not on the user’s end.

It was gone for quite a while for me, since the dragon bash finished up it was running smooth, then tonight I got this. Repeatedly. Looks like it’s baaaack!

Happening to me too. Played for about 4 hours in wvw with no issues. I came back after a 30min break (nothing should of changed on my end in that time) and suddenly i’ve got awful lag. Same error code. Still waiting on a anet response to any of these threads.

One way to test whether the issue is specific to GW2 or not is to stream a movie.

Myself, I cannot stream a full movie without the stream stopping many times throughout.

ps. I’ve narrowed down my disconnect issue to my sister using too much bandwidth. Will keep you guys updated.

I never suffered of the disconnection issues, but are 2 days that I have sporadically same error 7:11:3:191:101
It doesn’t happen so much times but I noticed it because I never had such problems. ISP and modem shoul be ok.
And, if that matter, I run the latest Nvidia drivers

Important!

I had the same issue and I tried everything including:
- Restart pc, client, clientport 80
- Modem and router restart
- Using a high quality, payed VPN to switch IP adresses to other location

NOTHING worked.

What -DID- work was disabling “Avast Shields” – If you still have this issue, try disabling your antivirus! I disabled mine and literally the same moment I could login without any issues!

Please report if this solved your issue so the devs can look into the problem!

My disconnect issue is solved, here’s the rundown..

~Cause~

  • My sister’s bittorrent was eating all the bandwidth

~Symptoms~

  • Noticeable frequent disconnects in GW2, AO & when streaming a movie

  • I explained the situation to my sister. She must’ve fixed it, cause I’ve had no issues since.

This error is 100% Anet’s issue and it needs to be fixed yesterday! I play on virtually the same PC as my GF and we’re on the same very fast and stable connection.

We started playing this game on different PCs, both have been updated/changed a lot. She never got the error/DCs, I always have.

This is an account bound issue.

She can go afk forever, if I so much as lean back in my chair to stretch for 10 seconds, I get DCed and have to reload the whole zone…

Completely unacceptable.

It’s not really a crash per say, it’s just auto booting us to the login screen. I think it’s some anti-botting system that’s running amok. If that’s the case, just turn it off Anet! It’s infuriating! The only way I can stay connected is to either never stop moving or if I have to stop, I run my pointer in circles. I have done at least 5 story quests where it booted me at the end and I had to redo the entire things, due to this error.

Please disable whatever nonsense is causing this Anet, or at least form a list of us in here that have the issue. I assure you , we’re not farmers or botters.

Since the previous patch I have been getting this issue constantly, every time I play.

I have searched every single forum thread relating to this and googled the problem 50 different ways; tried every suggested solution or workaround, to no effect.

Occasionally I can stay connected for a brief period of time if every wireless device in the house is powered off or disabled, but even then it is only a few minutes.

Never experienced anything like this problem in any other game I have ever played on this or any previous computer. No network problems here, no issues connecting or staying connected to any other game.

I have been thoroughly impressed with this game since picking it up a few weeks ago, but at this point, it has become completely unplayable for me.

This needs to be addressed immediately or I can see a lot of people in my/our position just losing interest in and walking away from your otherwise great game.

I also have the disconnect issue. It is not anything to do with my internet. My wife plays with no issues. On other occasions, she has the problem and I do not. I have been trying to play the past couple of days and I get maybe 5 minutes of play then heavy rubber banding until disconnect. I have checked my Firewall and GW2 is passed through. I am about to stop playing and go back to one of my other games. I don’t have this problem in SWTOR.

I’ve had this problem start about a few days ago too and have been researching possible fixes. All of them included the usual router issues and resets blah blah, all of which are temporary fixes. One thing that has worked for me without fail: tethering to my phone, which is pretty much my new modem till this crap gets fixed. When I’m connected to it there isn’t any disconnecting at all. Would still like a fix to this so I don’t have to go so out of the way just to play this game.

I am adding my whinge to this list in the hope that someone at GW takes notice of this problem and fixes it.

Updated Windows, cleaned and scanned PC with Norton 360, PC is over spec for the game.
The game currently does not work, nothing has changed at my end, will it be resolved soon??

I put in a support ticket for this issue yesterday and it turns out that it was my ISP. My connection is having packet loss, which is know to cause issues when it comes to online gaming. Try using a program like Ping Plotter to test your IP while playing Guild Wars 2 and see if it’s the same problem as mine.

Just add me to the list of people with this same connectivity problem. Internet connection is fine, just can’t stay in the game for more that 10 minutes. Only really started happening since the last major patch and has been getting worse since. Pretty much unplayable, can’t do anything that can’t be completed in 5-10 minutes. Sorry I don’t have any fixes, just waiting like the rest to be able to play again.

Im on the same Boat. I can play basically on 30 min intervals which is a pain for WvW seeing as when i DC. i have to re enter the mile long queue to re join my guildmates in whichever map they are. Ive tried everything and still cant find a solution here.

This is not client side. The problem lies solely on Anet’s end. None of the ‘fixes’ anywhere, work. I and many others are on the same connection with other people that don’t have the DC error, this is a raging clue! On top of that, in my post above you will notice that my GF and I have completely rebuilt our computers since starting GW2 at launch. So it can’t be connection or hardware on our end. She never had the error, I always have.

To me, this problem just showed up since last build updated, but it’s REALLY annoying, hard to connect with any other player.
Strange thing is that any other app or website (which is not GW2.) works excellent, and I can even watch other players chatting, hunting, farming, killing normally as usual, but I just can’t use any skill, and soon disconnected with Error Code: 7:11:3:191:101.

Can’t play neither PvP nor PvE smoothly.
Diag files was attached in the report text, wish this can be fixed soon.

Never had this problem till 2 days ago, now I’m getting it a lot and finding it hard to even log into the game sometimes. Interesting that the problem has been around for months but only now it’s affecting me.

I don’t know if its relevant or not, but I did do a windows update not long ago. Lots of “Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 SP1 x86 (KB2840631)” stuff, would that bring about the problem? Can’t roll back the update either sadly. -.-

I gave you the benefit of the doubt and replaced my slightly old modem over the weekend, with mixed results. I got a ‘gateway’ (modem, landline, WiFi and router) modem and while it’s terrible and has destroyed my WiFi range/speed, it did seem to completely kill this error. I stood idle in Lion’s Arch for half an hour without touching the keyboard and no DC!

I did also notice something in this process. I had to re-confirm my IP/Email with Anet. Maybe that’s all that was needed? I have to reconfigure to get my WiFi range/speed back and will post results, but in the meantime; everyone try to reconfirm your emails or roll your IP to force it, the latter seems the best way to insure that you and Anet’s servers know eachother.

I’m having this exact same issue. It just started today! I’ve been playing a full month non-stop with no problems at all. Stay in-game for 10 minutes before d/c.

I don’t see how its my internet seeing as my GF is perfectly fine playing the game and not d/c’ing at all… She’s sitting right next to me playing… Any way of fixing this? It’s too frustrating to play when all i do is d/c…

Hi, I get same problem too for 4 days already. I just try to play cof now. It disconnect me once before fist boss and second run even worst Disconnect me at last boss with character stack and can’t use any of my skill .When I log in again everyone already out of dungeon and I can’t even get my clear bonus…….but the strange thing is I still can see my guild member chatting. Forget what I said before, the time when I put in my ticket I was having a lot of issues with my connection. So latency and packet loss made a lot of sense. I reset my router and modem and my internet went back to normal and passed all tests for packet loss. I figured that would take care of it but with Guild Wars 2 I am still disconnecting every 5 to 10 minutes. I’m not having problems with anything else. This has to be an issue with the servers.

Hey.
Been a while since I updated from this issue but here’s the deal:

Within the past month I and my partner (who also plays GW2, and other games) started getting this error and getting huge lag spikes and/or booted off the game.

We tried all sorts of client-end stuff to fix the issue, including a new modem. Nothing helped. You can see a log of all the stuff we experienced and tried here in this thread.

At first, no other games or video streaming were affected. Less than a week after the issues initially started we began having whole-house issues with the net. Uploading, downloading, our phones,…. nothing worked.

Someone came out and fixed a busted wire going to the house. The issues with internet resolved, EXCEPT the issues with GW2.

Ever since the July 23rd update and patches, there have been no issues with the game. Neither of us has experienced any lag (other than expected, like during Jormag, for example) and the game runs perfectly.

In our case, it was both; it seems. Some user end issues and the rest was up to Anet.

Yeah so I don’t know what else more to say about this , Plus it might be a bit off topic but my pvp game browser doenst work as well for some odd reason give a different error tough . but that is for another forum

Update and still fixed. So my new ‘all-in-one’ modem decided to break about a week after receiving it… All the lan connections in the back fried so I just switched back to my old setup, the one that gave me trouble since launch.

And it was still working perfectly. All it could have been was either re-verifying my IP with Anet or somehow my network setup got bugged 2-3 times in a row but this time it was clean.

I would consider trying the first part. Roll your IP address by calling your ISP or unplugging you modem for a minute or so (pretty sure that still works) and once it has changed the GW2 launcher will notice and ask for verification.

I have SOLVED my DC issue with this Error Code!
I jumped through all the GW2 Tech Support Hoops, PingPlotter, etc… to no avail.
This is what fixed mine:
I reset my router. Not Cycled it, but Reset it. Hold the little Reset Button til it wiped it, then set it up (like when it was new). Then I Updated the Firmware. Rebooted my PC, and That Was It. I have now run GW2 (in several bouts lasting a min of 6hrs) for over 48hrs with not a single DC. I was DCing at least every 30min before, over 3weeks.
I have a Linksys E2500 Dual-Band Router, and it took all of 10min to do.
I took screenshots of my settings before hand (I also run a MineCraft Server, so I wanted to make sure all of my Port Forwarding was accurately re-applied).
Again- GW2 Tech Support showed after over 36hrs of their most vigorous tests, that I showed no packet loss or other symptoms they would cry ‘foul’ on. They and I were baffled.
This Router Reset and Firmware Update has solved my Error Entirely.
