what is this ???? i just force closed gw2 previously working fine and it wont start again hmm… it will stop on the white screen launcher till error comes out

I started installing GW2 last night (right after getting the mountain lion update for mac).
Today when I came home the installer was stuck at 99% with only one file remaining. Has anyone else had this problem?

if you have GW2 on bootcamp you can just copy the game files manually, might be worth exploring

It’s not on bootcamp, I downloaded the real client from gw2’s website yesterday.

Hi. same problem with me. last night and today’s morning, the launcher was just perfectly alright.

the error msg just happens like 3 minutes ago. whenever I keep trying out, the white screen launcher may wait until the error pop up box comes out.

appreciate if someone can help us out. cheers.

Yes GW2 worked fine for about a week. Now I have the s_initialized error. I let the error pop-up box sit for about 5 minutes then the GW2 icon appeared twice in my menu bar and the game magically started updating.

My game seems to be working fine now.
(Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion Intel Core 2 duo)

Adding myself as another person who has received this error from the launcher. Trying to install for the first time on a mid-2010 15’’ Macbook Pro. Checked the console for anything helpful but I’m not seeing anything really helpful:

I’ve attached the actual error message itself. The log in the CDrive in the package contents of the application was empty. Let me know if there’s anything else helpful I could post. Can’t wait to get into the game for the first time… might just have to boot into Windows though and download there. I completely understand that this is a beta for Mac.

For the last few hours, and for a while yesterday, the launcher tries to log in but keeps giving me an error code 42:0:9001:3928 I’ve noticed a similar complaint and error code by PC users. not really sure what to do, it randomly will work for hours then nothing for hours…i realize its a beta but if people running the game on a PC are having the same problem its not just limited to the beta. Help please.

Same here on my laptop running mountain lion (10.8). I’ve run it 4 times, (1 time, then restarted mac, then 3 more times) and it just gives me that error and then quits. However, as I was logging into the forums, I ran it a 5th time and then it loaded up correctly. Not sure why.

So I’ve had this problem starting today. I bought the game 2 days ago and it worked fine. But today when I opened the app the app just showed the picture of the elementalist. There was no room for me to login (See Screenshot). I am unable to play the game because I can’t login at the launcher screen.

Just chiming in to say my Mac does the same.

Running OS-X 10.6.8

Helps if you give some specs so the developers know what system you are running on.

Also, since 10.6.8 is unsupported, it’s behavior can be unpredictable. I know for myself that I was able to launch and run the beta one day and the next it would never launch again. Mileage will vary under 10.6.8.

The only time I’ve seen that is when my network cable fell out; I guess it was trying to access the GW2 servers and couldn’t, so just sat there.

I’m running 10.8.2 though.

Me too, same “serious error” yet no response yet from Arena. I’m hoping they will give us an official word on it soon. I can restart into Windows XP and play just fine, but that would be too much work during the day when I’m playing GW2 at the same time. Hmph.

Sorry, the problem was fixed once I closed and reopened the software

I just downloaded GW2 on my MacBook Pro (2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, OS X 10.8.2) but the “s_initialized” error keeps occurring and I am unable to launch the game. There is a second GW2 icon in the dock but nothing has happened. Aaaaannnd now its updating, this has been a live broadcast thanks for your time, hope everyone else gets magical fixes as well. Confrim, the game is now updating. Good Luck friends.

I have a Imac 27" and everytime i log in and click play, the game crashes. after trying 20 times in a row, it works, then the next time i log in to play same crash over and over

I am encountering the “s_initialized” error

The launcher was working yesterday, everything was working perfectly but now its blank only a bar is showing. The login information is all blank and not showing, please help.

Having the same problem now. Can’t launch the game. Same as screenshot above, the game inst attempting to login.

Kind of the same problem, instead of what other people get, the launcher just cant download anything.
