Audio crash/hang
Yes, it happens just as he said. I’ve only seen it in WvW, typically right after a door is blown.
Happened to me during WvW as well. When I loaded the game the next day the sound was fine.
Yes, I have also been recieving this. It only started occuring about 2 or 3 updates ago. I keep having to relog back into the game. It does get annoying alot of the times, Usually occurs whenever there are many sound effects around,
For example: When multiple people 10-15+ Start with all the Skill and weapon effects at the same time.
It’s like the sound gets overpowered, I have tried changing the sound volume, although it doesn’t really do anything.
I also have been getting this, sometimes in wvw and sometimes not.
I get the same Problem and its really annoying. It happens to me when fighting the Priests in Orr with a large group of people. The Music player is still working, Teamspeak too. Its just the game. Even if I turn off all the ingame sounds it doesnt change. I have to resatart the game. It sound exactly like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beat_
I’m having the same problem. Since the last patch, the game also crashes shortly after the sound glitch.
I get the same bloody thing, can we fix this please, really annoying. Since WvW is always full, and the client requires a restart to fix the audio…so I lose my place in WvW
I’m so glad it isn’t just me having this problem, it mostly happens in Cursed Shore for me. If I turn every sound off and put audio device to something unavailable (like my microphone), it does stop. Playing with no audio effects at all gets annoying though, i’d love a fix!
I’ve been experiencing the same problem and it has gotten even worse now since the beep sound is now followed up with a crash shortly after. Let’s try and gather as much information as we can?
- I’m using a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 24-bit audio card with the latest drivers.
- The problem occurs both when I’m using speakers and headphones.
- The problem occurs when there is a high amount of sound effects triggered in the game, be it WvWvW or a very large group event in PvE.
- The problem cannot be fixed with in-game settings, the only way to disable the pulse is by muting GW2 through windows. The ingame sound settings in GW2 do not have any effect on the frequency, volume or duration of the pulses.
- The problem does not seem to be related to anything else running in the background, it happens with simply only running GW2 alone.
- The problem only affects GW2, all the other applications that produce sound are perfectly stable.
Hopefully people can add information to this list, especially when kind of sound card they are using or what they were doing when this occured.
This happened to me twice in WvW. It’s definitely a program error and not a PC error. The game client just becomes unresponsive and has to be terminated via the task manager.
Here’s a video that I took shortly after it crashed.
Next time I get the sound pulse I’ll try to film that and post it too.
This same audio bug started for me 2 nights ago. First time I had it happened it scared the living daylights out of me since my sound was really high at the time.
I too had to close GW2 client in order to make it go away. This has happened once to me in WvW and once again in Kessex Hills.
