I have bought this game yesterday, and after having to wait all night for the client to download I get this black screen, I have the cursor and am able to use it, and there is music in the background, I have tried doing the repair as suggested, that didn’t work, I have made sure that the antialiasing is set to aplication controlled in the nvidia control panel, that doesn’t work either, I’ve tried going back to a previous graphics driver as my current one is the latest. I’d really like to play the game so if anyone can help me I’d really appreciate it.

Thats exactly what happened to me too.

Bought the game today, Installed it ….. 6 hours to update.
Press PLAY , Black screen Lock up with Cursor and music in the background

Read Forum about Nvidia control panel , turned Antialiasing to application control , which it was by default & Still the same result.

Must do some more research into trouble shooting my problem, But this is just wrong as a consumer.

Tried all possible ways, the profile of the graphics card, the new driver. Nothing helps. Generally can not understand where does the vidio card. PvP friend said that I immediately invisible if there was a problem in the vidio card I think I would have stayed on the server.

Done almost everything the forums have suggested to get this working, some said to reinstall the game and re update it.

So I Tried disabling SLI (That didnt do anything)
Repairing Guild Wars 2 ( That didnt do anything)
Updated DirectX (That was already updated)
Disabled Profiles on Logitech G13 & G19 (That didnt do anything)

Then Scratched my head & Decided to TURN OFF ‘OSD’
eg. Fraps, MSI Afterburner, HWinfo64

Then Bingo , I saw the server list for the first time !!
Now to Play the game

Hope this helps some people out there.
