Guild Wars 2

So I haven’t played for awhile, expected the launcher to have to download some updates you know. Started up and had it download some small update, after downloading it closed and re-opened the launcher. Now it sits at downloading 0% with 0Kbps download speed forever. So I looked in the Guild Wars 2 folder and fond 3 files, the launcher, a .dat file and a .tmp file.
I tried deleting the tmp file thinking it might be corrupt but no success there, so I came to these forums. Tried searching for “wont download” and “cant download” and apparently nobody has posted a topic for cant and one person asking about the game size posted about wont.
So outside of deleting and redownloading 16gb on a slow DSL connection does anyone have any ideas I can try for a fix.

PS Tried using google DNS, disabling antivirus, resetting router/modem…

First thing to try:

• Right-click the shortcut for the game and go to its ‘Properties’.
• On the “Compatibility” tab, check/enable the “Run As Administrator” box at the bottom.
• Try to launch the game and see if you move past the ‘stuck at 0kb/s’ stage.

If that was unsuccessful:

• Click ‘Start’ then ‘Control Panel’ and select “User Accounts” from the list.
• From this window, click the ‘Change User Account Control Settings’ option.
• Lower the notched bar to the bottom setting; “Never Notify”.
• Try to launch the game and see if you move past the ‘stuck at 0kb/s’ stage.

If that was unsuccessful:

• Go to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.
• Right-click and view the properties for Gw2.exe (the launcher) and make sure the ‘Read Only’ attribute check box is unchecked.
• Repeat for Gw2.tmp and Gw2.dat
• Try to launch the game and see if you move past the ‘stuck at 0kb/s’ stage.
