Character stuck in Caledon forest?
If you are on a Windows-based PC, would you consider giving this a try, please. It has helped fix the problem of a single character stuck at a loading screen in the past for other users.
Delete the local.dat file
Deleting this file will also cause you to lose your saved game settings (graphics, stored login data, etc.) but may fix the problem. If you rely on your stored login info to log in, make sure you can recall what your login info is as the stored login info is also cleared.
The quickest way to do this is to:
- Ensure your game is completely closed.
- Hold your Windows Key and press ‘F’ to open your Windows Search.
- Search for “Local.dat”. 2 files may be found.
- Ignore the “Local.dat” file that is in the game installation folder if one is found there.
- Delete the “Local.dat” file that resides at:
“C:\Users\YourComputerUserName\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2” - Load up your game normally and see if the character can load properly.
- You will notice that your settings are reverted to default. You should reconfigure your game settings once again to your preference.
If it does not fix the problem then you will likely need to file a support ticket as it is likely to be something they would have to help resolve. You can file a support ticket by clicking Support link at the top of this page, and then clicking on Submit A Request in the top right of that support page.

I’m Also Stuck. I’m At queens dale
Hey there,
I would like you to try a command line argument we have seen resolve this type of issue.
Please go to your shortcut for Guild Wars 2 and right click it and choose properties.
In the line that says Target, add a space at the end of whats there and then -prefreset
It should look something like this: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -prefreset
Click apply and then ok.
Once the above is done, try launching the game and logging into the character you are having issues with. If this resolves the issue, go back into your shortcut again and remove the -prefreset line.
Should this not resolve the issue for you, please submit a support ticket so we can further assist you.
what is that – prefreset? or is that “space” prefreset?
You’ll want to make sure you put a space between the target line and the argument. So it should be this:
“C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -prefreset
And not this:
“C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe”-prefreset
Hope this helps!
and no I’m still stuck in queens dale. Sometimes it lets me go in then it will say error something something lol >.>
Ashley Segovia. help me
I can hear the background but its still on the loading screen sometimes. then if i ever get in it will say in a few seconds, Error
My other Char can log in but it’s kinda slow. this is the 1st time it happening to me and it started during the patch
It would be easier if you submit a support ticket that way I can get a bit more information from you. As it stands, this could be caused from a number of different things and I think we could assist you much more quickly and efficiently if we can assist you one on one rather than on someone else’s thread.
Also, if you could provide us with a Game Advisor report as well as the exact error messages you’re seeing, this would help as well. There should be a sticky that details how to run Game Advisor and contact our support team.
Thanks!
I dont know how to make a ticket >.> and I’m using not a shortcut but the app itself and this is only happening on queens dale and some maps are slow in loading
The Error is code=7:11:3:191:101 and it says connection lost
