Guild Wars 2

Ok been playing the game since release but today game would not work so tried the repair tool that would not work so uninstalled and tried to reinstall via DVD/CD and by downloading the client which took ages!

Then when client activated it says downloading about 768k it does this fast right up to 20k then slows to a crawl to 0 then just sits there and does nothing.

I have tried doing with anti virus and firewall off and run under admin and compatibility modes I am now stuck?

Any help will be great, I don’t even know why it stopped playing in the first place???

I tried deleting the local.dat and rebooted no luck. (Note that is the only file in that folder)

I cant change the language as the launcher does not get that far for me to do it, all I have is the initial screen when you first install the game it says 768k which stays on the screen with the download going from ?? to 0k then it just sits there.

Well last night before popping to bed I had an idea, I checked my event viewer in windows and found that I was getting DNS errors, so I changed my routers DNS addresses from Googles to my ISP and then it all started to work

But its still a bit flaky dropping to 0kb/s but that may be because the servers are busy, I will report back a bit later with some more info.

Ok at the moment I have 264, 000 files to go and the download is intermittent with bursts of 280kb/s for a while then down to 0kb/s sometimes it wakes up again and does some more others it just sits there.

I tried changing the language as you suggested but nothing.

At this rate I will never play GW2 again because as soon as this is done 5 more patches would have been released!

Any more ideas
