After weeks and weeks of downloading new video versions for Nvidia, rolling them back, etc..etc, I decided to try the “Router Fix” posted a few weeks back and BOOM zero crash to black screen now.

I doubted the fix and lo and behold for me anyway it was the right one.

Whoops Sorry Ashley I should have said WHAT I did =) I indeed disabled SPI in router setting and it works like a champ!

100% fixed my issues!

I agree. Who would have expected that the annoying black screen would have anything to do with the SPI setting on the Router firmware.

This should probably be a sticky post or at least an addendum to the ATI/Nvidia blackscreen threads.

some routers have bad firmware with buggy SPI handling. Its a known fix on other high connection creation clients as well.

I’m going to try this when I get home because the game is nearly unplayable with the constant black screens.

If this works I will literally eat my hat. Not because I have been wrong or anything but because I am a systems admin and I have exhausted anything I thought should fix this issue and I’ll be eating my hat out of pure frustration.

So did it work for you as well? I’m interested to know the flavors and texture of your hat.
