Guild Wars 2

i have downloaded the setup.exe file, but it don’t start the download of the game and it says “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…”.
I checked the firewall, i runned it as administrator and my connection is perfect.
Can some1 help me ?

There have been issues with certain ISP / Internet service that is not properly finding the Anet update servers (I think it’s Verizon’s new fiber). Their DNS is messed up and they either don’t know how or refuse to fix it. If you set your DNS to point at an alternate DNS server (like Google), that should clear up the problem.

There are threads on the subject here but since the Search feature is FUBAR….good luck.

i just got this in england tried rebooting the pc… might be anet was looking through old posts it seems they have had europe pathway problems before

want it fixed soon only just got it like 12 hours ago >.<

i got this now, was working perfectly fine 20hrs ago but trying this morning but nothing, i have checked my firewall etc, nothing changed to cause it to ‘fail’. someone at Anet probably turned off the wrong server or unplugged the wrong cable xD

Also just happened to me – was playing fine this morning until 9am BST now getting connection error message

Something big happening? I’m getting errors in connections to about 1 in 10 random websites. Twitch for example. Ebay, tumblr…

twitch is always iffy xD but yer seems all people in the uk are not being connected to the server lets hope anet fix this!! i wanna get my warrior to a 2h sword qq

“Looks like BT Internet is having DNS problems. Change your DNS servers to @opendns – 208.67.222.222 / 208.67.220.220”

and re-boot your router. This worked for me.

Change your DNS to 8.8.8.8 and alternative DNS to 8.8.4.4. It sometimes helps.
