Guild Wars 2

Hello people,

I as many others here have had the game crash to desktop on them alot.
Systemspecs in a nut shell:
16GB RAM (Coarsair Vengence if it makes a difference to anyone)
Terabyte Hard drive(s)
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
CPU is AMD FX 6 core 6100 black edition.
ATI HD 6870

I did all the checks memtest, check disk and the like, updated the drivers for the system, monitored the temperatures of the CPU and GPU’s with little luck as everything works.

In the past I have tried re downloading the game and reinstalling. Deleting dat files etc…

Well I have been trying to solve this and last night for the first time since I got the game at Christmas I was not kicked to desktop or the dreaded BSOD. Everytime I can remember it was to a memory address problem of sorts (there might have been others but I have lost track as this has “hopefully” been an ongoing issue)

What I did recently was a couple of things.
1: doing the sfc /scannow
it found a dll was not correct, nlslexicons00f.dll I corrected that using the install dvd of widows 7 and how from online. ran the sfc /scannow again and everything checked out.
Not sure how that file got corrupted/changed but none the less it is fixed.

2: In the in game graphical options I selected to run the game in fullscreen windowed mode.

Now like I said it has been 1 night but so far so good. I will be trying it out again sometime today/tonight and will update (add a post) with the results before I go to bed. I hope that if it is solved that the 2 most recent steps (as they are not the common ones told to most people in the forums to do) help out others.

Crash to desktop, although it might have made a difference or I got lucky.
