Error Code=42:1000:9001:4170:101 and 7:11:3:191:101

Been playing the game fine for the last few months. Since the day after LA patch i’ve been riddled with these two error codes. Game is completely unplayable as I’m already disconnected when I log in and just watch people run into walls until I get either error message. I’ve made exceptions and disabled my antivirus, reinstalled GW2, try changed the /cilentport80 thing. Nothing works. Every other game works perfectly fine.

All is vain.

Fully agreed on this. I can play the game sure but I’m unable to connect to my Guild or use the LFG and the game randomly decides to drop the login problem window notification at random times disrupting whatever I was in the middle of.

Very frustrating. I’m nearing the end of the PS and need to rely on either Guilds OR the LFG. Yes I did my research. None of those methods work.

Im with the same ISP as you (Studentcom) and contacted gw2 support, I was told to get in touch with my ISP regarding this issue. The ISP said they do not throttle at any time, nor are any of the ports that gw2 uses blocked. So I assume it has something to do with anet servers/network.

I cant even log-in atm. Its just loading when I click Log-in.. I even uninstalled my anti-virus software to check if it isnt that, buts its not. Disable even my Firewall as ArenaNet states it can be either one or both of those that can cause issue.

ArenaNet.. The problem isnt any of those. Check on your side. Blizzard Entertainment games run smooth without any issues. I can download apps etc at full speed without problems. Why should this be at its worse for everybody after this patch? Dont tell us its our computers when the problem is simply on your side. If youre saying I should check my Anti-Virus, Drivers and Firewall.. I say. Check your programming of the patch or even the entire living story release.. Somewhere theres coflict in the coding or something.. It isnt fun playing the game like this at all.. Ill rather play another game then start up Guild Wars 2 now…

To be honest.. I logged into Guild Wars 1 and I also get lagspikes here and there.

Would be nice if anyone knows a solution to this problem because it disables my guild panel and chat, and also my lfg system.

Try using VPN solution as I described in this link: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Network-Lag-Merged/page/47#post3678448

It is just a daily solution (as long as you don’t wanna pay for a VPN service or create tons of new email addresses to get free trials everyday), but at least you can try whether it solves your problem or not.

I’m having the same problems. I’m from the Philippines and I do notice I only get this errors during 7pm my time onwards. I try to log-in for 30+ times but it kicks me out. Sometimes I get in but I will lag a lot then eventually get an error message. I also experience the guild window not loading error and sever lag. Then I try to just sleep and wake up around 9am the next morning and everything will be fine. Please fix this I want to play with my guild mates but if I’m getting dc the time their on we can’t.

UPDATE: I tried using VPN and I got in fine, please help us fix this. I don’t want to use VPN while playing.

Havent been able to log in for more than 3 seconds today. The rest (10 minutes) was staring at load screens. Dropped out after trying to rezone from Grove to Caledon Forest.

It was all fine yesterday, there wasnt even a patch today, no update on any programs on my machine, neither on GW2. What the hell is up?

Having the same issues. It takes a while to log me in after inserting my password, then once I open it brings me to character select screen. I can select one and click “Play” but the button becomes greyed out. Nothing loads or when it does it’s just the loading screen, hanging, and after a few minutes it boots me with a Lost connection to server and the same Code=7:11:3:191:101 error others are getting. It was fine earlier today.

Right, i rebooted the router and it seems to be working as before. Should have tried that hours ago… If all systems and the like appear working as intended but you still cant get into gw2, give the router or modem a few seconds of rest. Might fix it.

@ Lakdav. Not it. Not on my end. I run a home business relying on high-speed internet to send large .psd files to and from and pay a hefty amount of cash for a fast and stable connection. Just ran a test, 89.63Mb/s dl, 56.34Mb/s ul, 5ms ping. Everything works and loads within the second, as it should. GW2 isn’t. I don’t expect it to load in a second, but currently it won’t at all. This is a GW2 server related issue.

Hmm, same here. I thought to myself is the problem and I was wrong.
I did just deactivated antivirus, firewall and stuff, but nothing and same error like another peolpe who get. Also Guildwars 1 was HUGE laaaagspikes and booom disconnect! =D
I tested some streaming like youtube, and testing internet speed, etc and work fine but GW isn’t. Anyway, ANet will fix this problem.

Guessing their is some sort of issue today as I have not been able to log in for the last 40 minutes. Either get stuck at the character selection screen or make it to the spawn area in Gendarran fields only to be disconnected a couple of seconds later. Prior to this (40 mins ago) the game was running fine.

Same here, been at least 4 days now, from 5pm to midnight, network lag and disconnects with error code 7. Any content with more than 5 active players in the same area u just get kicked out. UK BT
Any official statement from anet woudl be greatly welcome, we tried everything on our side with no fix.
VPN is a way to get in the game, but being entirely honest… affects your latency heavily, u dont dc but u play 2/3s behind.

I’m having all of these issues. Also From Spain. I Was fine the night of the patch… Even the next morning. But since that I am unable to play at primetime. Morning early afternoon is good.. Late afternoon its laggy. From primetime 18.00 till 23.00 I rarely can log in and if I do I crash 2-5mins later.
I’m glad that there are people having the same problems.

Believe this is a GW2 server issue, always during primetime since this recent patch that things become unplayable, either I get stuck on a zone loading screen until I error out, or if I do manage to get in, the lag is just ridiculous I might as well not bother.

Obviously something has changed with their coding since the last patch, prehaps some of their optimisations they might have done to help cope with the demand from this patch might have caused some conflicting issues.

Either way for me, it was all working fine pre-patch, I hope this gets resolved before my interest starts to fade.

Same issues here (New Zealand) at present – regular massive lag and disconnects. Normally my connection is flawless, but at the moment GW2 is not useable.

Mapchat on my server (Sea Of Sorrows) was full of people with the same problems by the way.

Anet may be right in saying that this is a network problem, but given the wide range of people experiencing it, it would seem to be at their end and not ours, unless the internet is broken worldwide…

If Anet doesn’t intend to fix the game I hope that they go bankrupt. The game is impossible to play at any time and you know… The main point of keeping a game community is LETTING IT PLAY THE GAME.
And if a person would start a riot over it they would most likely just block them for being rude.
It’s YOUR problem Anet. Everything was fine in summer last year and there was no lag ANYWHERE. Why did you have to go and F*** it up. Just make the game stable and playable and then people might actually be able to enjoy the content you think helps cover up the situation in any way…

This is all of about 10/20 minutes ago, too. The wierd thing is I that I can still play the game (though slightly laggier) but my guild chat nor LFG are working. Been playing since launch and no similar problems have occured. Super annoying

Contact your ISP like anet tells you. If the ISP tries to send you back to anet, ESCALATE THE CALL. Keep doing it until they actually admit they’re doing kitten. ISPs can, will, and have throttled gaming traffic. If they tell you they dont throttle, they’re lying pretty hardcore.
Of course, anet’s not helping by using some obscure error code theme. Simplify the error codes for christ sake.

Short answer: they don’t.

The reason, and I’m going to paraphrase here, “why all ISPs from all over the world” dont throttle is because you’re making a sweeping generalization. The ISP I’m on doesnt throttle any of my gaming, or ANY of my internet usage for that matter, and I’m a prolific gamer and streamer. And relatively speaking, it’s not hard at all to throttle specific games as an ISP either. EVERYTHING sent to and from the GW2 servers (and everywhere else for that matter) has sender/destination information that is openly readable. Not hard to filter and throttle traffic going to and from a given destination.

Your diag report shows sporadic packet loss across multiple hops leading up to the game servers. That said, as the packet loss is happening prior to reaching the game servers you will need to get in contact with your ISP.

As much as we want to help resolve this issue for you, we simply do not have any control over this type of problem. At best, we have limited control over the data once it reaches the Guild Wars 2 servers. The problem is that this packet loss is happening prior to that event. As such, we simply have no direct or even indirect control over that data and how it’s transferred. That’s the sole responsibility of your ISP, which is why you are paying for that service.

I also want to point out that if you are able to connect to the game through VPN, this means that the issue lies with the route that your connection takes to reach the game servers. Again, this would point directly to your ISP.

This is not to make sweeping generalizations for everyone reporting connection based issues especially as these threads often consist of a number of different issues, each having its own set of variables.

For anyone having connection based issues of any kind, the best thing to do would be to submit a support ticket so we can look into it.

Running it on 2 computers right now. Same ISP, same WIFI. Only 1 computer is being booted. Received 58:11:5:523:101, 7:11:3:191:101 AND 42:1000:9001:4107:101 errors. Only for the past 3-4 days. Been playing fine for over a year. No changes in firewall, router or any such. Submitted ticket to Anet, they wanted a Game Advisor test run. Did that. No answer. This is soooo frustrating and I have Military maneuvers this weekend. Can’t wait for the typical ISP route answer… Obviously wrong, as I’ve proved by a second computer…

Same here. Two identical laptops. Both being played under same conditions (setup, wirelessly, few inches apart from each other, etc), but only one keeps getting booted off the game with error 7s, 42s and 58s. ISP can’t seem to grasp what is going on, thus dumping the ball to anet and vice versa. All other games work just fine on both laptops in terms of connectivity.

I have exactly the same problem. It started around 5-6 days ago. The game works fine (for the most part) except that I can’t access my friends list (they don’t show me the character names, just the account ones) or the PvP browser.

Having same issues. It started 3 days ago and is happenning only in prime time. No issues during the morning before work (07-09:00) GMT+1

Error: 42:1000:9001:4170:101. I am able to play game normally (slight lag, but that’s it). Can’t use guild chat or guild window.

Edit: 22:00 GMT+1 and game is unplayable.

Escalated it with ISP, they did no changes and claim everything is OK.
