I have already installed the game, and what now looks like a large patch was being downloading, I was almost done the patch with no problems then it got to 5 files remaining and it will not budge from that spot, when i launch the client again it only downloads 248kbs then stops.
please help

What’s the speed at when it stops? Is it still fluctuating, does it go to 0, or does it disappear?

If it’s the first, just be patient – it’s still going.

0.0kb/s is what the speed is at when it hits 248kbs downloaded every single time, and i have done everything everyone has told me to do and nothing has worked

itd be nice if someone else had these problems aswell

I have the exact problem with mine. I’m at the last 2 files to download before i can even start playing and it just wont allow me to download it. the exact same thing happens to me.
I have been waiting with my support ticket for a couple of days now as well

This sucks to be quite honest. i waited a week to get paid so i can buy this game, get home and then it doesnt work lol. i just hope they fix it with a patch or allow a mirror/previous version to be used

If anything,i just really hope it gets fixed soon. as far as i can see,the game still has a lot of bugs and errors in it. I don’t want to wait another week to play the game

Same 5 files left for me aswell, this needs to be resolved soon or i take the game back, i really dont want to since i heard this game was amazing haha

Well I have the same problem, I have to constantly open & close the client update in hopes it works. It is ridiculous.

They said one way to fix it is by using the download from the website because some of the cds shipped with un-updated launchers

Yup the website download didn’t work either this problem needs to be resolved or i want my money back for this game

ok guys i think i fix my problem without areanets help, heres what i did.
i wen to the directory where the game is saved.
you should see a file called Gw2.exe.tmp and Gw2.exe, now delete Gw2.exe and change Gw2.exe.tmp to Gw2.exe. make sure u delete the shorcut of the previous gw2. i restarted my comp and went back to the directory and run the new Gw2.exe as administrator and it worked.
i hope this helps u guys out if not i’l help u out again

your gw2.tmp file, did it have 0kb?

yes it did have 0kbs

hmm ok mine had about 23000 kb, try to delete that and open gw2 again hopefully it takes you to the downloading screen and downloads about 101454kbs and try the steps i gave u again

i had to restart after i deleted the gw2.tmp with 0kbs for the update to download again

no my gw2.exe app doesnt run the whole 10141kb program like the beginning of the installer it just cuts to the DL and my tmp file stayed at 0kbs

awwkittenthats different to what i had, everytime i opened gw2.exe it downloads 10145ks and closes. sorry it didnt help you out

Got some answers about this. And now im doing download again like i’ve been told. This might work or then not. Hope this test goes well.

Doesnt work to download the client from the website i tried and ended up with the same problem

OK, i have tried just about everything would an admin please come and atleast look at my thread

i re-installed mine and re-downloaded mine and now it works. a slow connection screws with the files. and try to do it in one go, don’t download it in segments. hope it works for the rest of ya’ll. oh and the support team tried helping,but its not a problem they can fix.
so to recap,slow internet = problems.

I got it working now. Get yourself a copy of patched game from your friend or somewhere else.
