The only exclusive skyhammer stream
@kirito.4138 nope tried that
Try installing the MS Visual C++ redist packages, DotNET crap etc, all windows updates and whatever you can get.
Try going to this location: C:\Users\Asus\AppData\Local\Temp\ and deleting the GW2.tmp file you find there and then running the launcher again. Does it get any further this time?
If not, then the problem might not be with the patch file but rather the location of the file you’re trying to apply it to, aka the place where GW2.exe (the launcher/game executable) is installed. If this is in Program Files or Program Files (x86), try moving / installing it somewhere else, or try turning off UAC (User Account Control), because windows permissions might be interfering.
Another possibility is that it’s your antivirus interfering. Which one are you using?

Technical Support
Hi Taryn – This error looks like it’s due to the fact that you’re trying to install from the temp directory. The easiest way to resolve this issue is to pull Gw2.exe out of the temp drive and onto the C drive by following the below steps:
1. Hold down the Windows button on the keyboard and hit the R key.
2. Paste in the following line “Temp” (without the quotes) and then click OK.
3. Find Gw2.exe and right-click on the file and select Cut
4. Go to your C drive and into the Games folder. If there is no Games folder, create one.
5. In the Games folder, create the folder Guild Wars 2 and go into it.
6. In the Guild Wars 2 folder, right-click and select Paste.
7. Run Gw2.exe from the Guild Wars 2 folder.
The game should launch and immediately start patching. Two additional files should be created: Gw2.dat and Gw2.tmp
I’d like to say that I am having the same issue, stopping at 10236kb and showing the long list of details. I had tried what Ashley suggested (though I looked in a different temp folder for Gw2.exe) and had moved the relevant files over but it still stopped at the same 10236kb, with the only obvious difference being that the crash log being created in that folder as opposed to the previous folder.
The faster I find a solution to this, the sooner my friends stop bugging me to install the game, so help would be appreciated.
If it helps I attached the crash log as is from the Guild Wars 2 folder I created.
