I get dropped at least once per night now and it’s usually not the same error message every time. It’s not my computer or internet connection and it didn’t start until the megaserver system was rolled out so I have to assume that it’s causing some sort of instability. It’s not from overcrowding because a few of the disconnects happened in dungeon instances with just 1 other player present.

I am getting the same thing, All my abilities dont work I can move round everyone moves around but I cant do anything then i get kicked to load screen

Its cool, there are 4 different threads about this subject on the first page of tech support. Its on our end or our ISP’s people keep saying. Seems strange when all these people are having problems….

I know it’s not my ISP because my girlfriend is playing at the same time in the same room as me and she doesn’t get disconnected, or she’ll be disconnected when I’m not, it seems to take turns.

Interesting. I would inquire what sort of system and connection y’all are running. See my post “GW 2 is crashing when large zergs meet” for my agony vis a vis the DC monster. I am NOT getting any random DC’s, mine are ALL zerg based… SO far!!

Seems I’m not the only person with problems.
I get atleast one error 7 per evening some in edge of the mists and some just in any PVE map.
Also I’ve noticed that the game sometimes refuses to log me in at the first try so I have to the login again before it works.

I’m almost sure that it got something todo with the megaservers as I didn’t have this problem on this scale before the 15-04 update.

It usually works when you reconnect but it’s starting to get annoying as even some guildies missed out on the guild puzzle reward for having a DC right at the end and they couldn’t get in anymore.

Yep uninstalled do to frustration. I played GW2 for quite a while at launch with 2 computers. One at work, one at home. Two different ISP’s as well. I never lost connection to the client. I mean never. Very stable.

Nothing on either computer has changed. Same Modems as well. I play Elder Scrolls Online, WoW, and SWTOR – as well as numerous Online games on Steam and never lose connection.

I just tried to return to GW2 a week or so ago and when playing my skills would just stop working, I could run around for a few seconds and see others moving – then booted to character Select with the “Lost Connection to the Client” – Error 7:————-.

That would happen about every 20 to 30 minutes, no lag before hand, everything running smoothly – then disconnected.

I can say with confidence this is not an issue on my end. Again I play all other games online and numerous MMORPGS without a single issue. Yet looking over the “many post with folks having this same issue”, I rarely see any response from GW2 staff to say they are working on the problem. If I do see a response, they want us to do a tracer route, delete folders, go to msnconfig and stop all programs, open ports on our routers, call our ISP, and pretty much every option under the sun – except to say it’s on their end.

This issue for me started obviously after the big feature patch with the “Mega Server” implementation.

I spent my fair share on gems while playing and wanted to return to the game, but not interested until they acknowledge this issue, and get it fixed.

When posting connection issues it’s always a good idea to post your ISP and general location just to see if it’s a regional thing, there was a major problem in EU a while ago especially in Sweden and one ISP that was causing most people to lose connection during prime time. Also some of the backbones in NA were having issues to not to long ago people in the Pacific Northwest into Texas where the servers are located. One of the biggest problems is Alternet own by Verizon has major packet loss at times still to this day it hasn’t been resolved. So I don’t think it’s a server issue or more people would be having it and I don’t and no one in my guild has complained about disconnects and it just may be a coincidence that this is happening after the patch. Another issues that is popping up in tech support circles lately is WiFi congestion if you play over Wifi you may want to check you area to see how many WiFi routers are in your area, you may be surprised to find out its a lot. Try if possible to plug your system directly into the router with a cable see if that solves your problem. If a cable is not an option then you might want to check your WiFi card or dongle are the drivers up to date. Also are you using a dongle in a desktop, get rid of it. Go get a good quality card with a good antenna. Those craptastic dongles are junk. A friend of mine was using one in his desktop and every time someone walked across the room he would lose connection to the internet.

Comcast. Fastest connection possible through them. Midwest USA. Super stable, super steady connection with no problems in any other game or program. All drivers are up to date.

My computer is solid and running a 4GB EVGA GTX 780 TI flawlessly. It’s not my computer.

Speedtest.net clocks my dowload speed at 98.47 mbps and ping at 12ms on a consistent basis. It’s not my connection.

This problem is not on my end. I should not have to go into msconfig and stop programs, mess with my router, open ports….etc. etc. to get this game working.

I have no issues with Elder Scrolls Online, World of Warcraft, Star Wars, Wild Star (was just in beta), or over 200 steam games online. I have no issues downloading any movies, music, or any sort of internet connection issues what so ever.

I’ll just pass.. It’s on Anet’s End.

There are plenty of other games out that work fine, and GW2 worked fine until they added the Mega Server Feature..Many folks who never had an issue before that was implemented are having issues now.

It’s just sad that there is no acknowledgment from Anet regarding the issue.

As I said, someone using the same connection as me isn’t getting disconnected at the same time, so it’s unlikely that it’s an ISP issue. Also I don’t play over WiFi, so it’s not that either. It doesn’t really matter though, I wasn’t posting here to get troubleshooting tips, I was just making sure the issue was more visible to Arenanet.

As I said, someone using the same connection as me isn’t getting disconnected at the same time, so it’s unlikely that it’s an ISP issue. Also I don’t play over WiFi, so it’s not that either. It doesn’t really matter though, I wasn’t posting here to get troubleshooting tips, I was just making sure the issue was more visible to Arenanet.

Same not looking for any troubleshooting tips. Just maybe some kind of response from this company stating they are looking into a known issue, instead of linking basic troubleshooting links on Arenanet’s website.
