1. Right click your GW2.exe and select “Create shortcut”.
2. Right click on that newly-created shortcut and select “Properties”
3. Scroll to the end of the “Target:” text field.
4. At the end of the line, add a space followed by -mapLoadInfo
The target should look similar to this: “D:\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” -mapLoadInfo
5. Click “Apply” and “OK”.
6. Run GW2 from that shortcut and login normally.
Now each time you go to load a new area, you will see a list of diagnostics in the bottom-left of your screen. Refer to the attached screenshots to see a sample of the diagnostics.
Toward the end of the list, you will see a string that says “ElapsedWaitTime”. This is the current time that is spent loading a zone. When the loading has finished, there will be a very brief pause so you can see how long the zone loaded.
Here is an example of some of my load times.
Smokestead Waypoint (Plains of Ashford) – 4.66 seconds
Trader’s Forum Waypoint (Lion’s Arch) – 10.24 seconds
You will know the zone is fully loaded when “MapLoadState” reports as STATE_READY
Enjoy!!!

Using this command line, its pretty sobering to see just how much longer the load times have increased on my system recently.

Yeah I have been following that loading times thread. Seems to be an epidemic as of late.

Ugh…94.21 seconds to load Lion’s Arch. It is, by far, my slowest map to load. But, this, at least, lets me know how long I have to wait by watching the percentage of models loaded. Thx.

I have seen recent threads about loading times so I feel that this deserves a bump.
