Hi everyone!

I had to buy a new graphic card for another of my computer, so i decided to change this card since it cause so many issues with Gw2.

Even after I switched my card i still have many issues ( black screen and other crash. )

Could anyone tell me if there is anything i forgot to do?
I went through control panel and erased everything from my last card.
Was there something else i should do that could cause those black screen to happen still?

Hi Gremnok – What troubleshooting steps have you already tried to resolve this issue aside from replacing your graphics card?

Not sure if you checked that, but maybe the wattage of your power supply is not high enough.
To check it, just look on the side of your power supply.

Hi Radium – I’m actually not a Developer, I am on the Technical Support team. For issues such as this in which there are various resolutions for this issue, it can best be looked into working one on one with players if possible and so I highly encourage any players who are experiencing this issue to submit a support ticket.

This is an issue that is still being tested and looked into and until we have more solid answers for players, we are troubleshooting this issue to find common trends and hopefully resolve the issue in the process.

Your “support ticket’s” are a joke we send you data about our systems that far exceed the requirments for your game only to get a reply saying update your graphics driver. As if to say we understand you all have kick kitten machines and can run anygame on the planet but please update your graphics driver and you will be able to run our DX9 based game no problem.

Its a good game but I feel misled by the requirements on the box if i would have known my computer wasn’t gonna run this as good as I expected I would have never wasted my money. Looking at the requirements would lead me to believe I would have no issues running this game.
They should have said min system requirements I5 2500k or better processor and if you have amd don’t play this.

The problem is the 570. Downclock it a bit and it’ll run fine.

I used to have black screens after 10-20 minutes of play. Downclocking my 570, although not an ideal fix, solved the problem for me too.

I followed the steps for the black screen issue, Anti aliasing managed by the game, downloaded the program for amd. Deleted old Video card drivers , updated mine with most recent drivers.
I changed for a Radeon HD 7850 from AMD. Kinda wondering if there is something more i can do.

Power supply should not be a problem with this build, I bought 1 which supported more than was needed with last video card build set. I didnt check if this Video card was asking 100w more than last one. but i dont believe so.

If you have a website or program that could help me verify this, it could be nice tho.

Is your graphics card manufacturer MSI by any chance? Apparently, they have been caught overvolting their cards (not sure if they are doing it with their AMD cards also) and causing a lot of issues. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/MSI-GTX-660-670-overvolting-PowerEdition,18013.html

Depends on what your last card was as 570’s are Fermi architecture which was very power hungry. It also depends on the model and brand of your power supply, as long as you’re not overclocking a good 550-600W is enough for a 570 and say a 2500k CPU whereas a cheap one would most likely not cope.

I have a GTX570 and never had any issue with the game, this sounds surprising to me…

Are you sure that your 570 is problem?
I got 2 in SLI first is OC gigabyte second is from palit

I been playing with and without sli because some old games do crazy stuff when I got sli on and I often forget to turn it on when playing GW but I never had any issues with performance or anything like that

I have the same graphics card and I am running Guild Wars 2 without any problems.
I believe that your problem is related to something else.

The fact that you 2 dont have an issue but so many other have that card with an issue, we came to believe it was the card or related to the card in some way. Changing my card didnt fix my issue, I tought at first it could be my drivers or something from last card which was creating the issue.

you 2 seems to be having fun with a game that works for you, all of us who has issue cannot play for more than 30 min in a row without a crash… and we REALLY want to try to help finding an issue. Since then, it’s really hard for us to play and enjoy a really great game!

My new card is with Gigabyte.

we only said that you should try looking elsewhere for your problems and not in the card if that problem still persist

also I tried to google it little and only problem with 570 I found was that some models need to be downcloacked but its not gw2 problem as these models bugs in almost every new game
others problems that I found was related to low fps at the launch and that was caused by old drivers month ago.

btw we only tried to help you not to /flex how we play at 150 fps :P

so maybe post your system spec and why you think that issue is only your card? did you tried other recent games or is it only gw 2 related problem ? what drivers you got did you fully removed last drivers is your pc overheating etc etc …

as for problems with AMD … well that’s what you get when you have AMD it’s well know issue with them for past 1 or 2 years already
I encountered this in at least 3 AAA games released since 2011 so not GW2 problem really …
