Guild Wars 2

I have seen many issues similar but none with the same symptoms. I download the game client, run as administrator, then the data is processed. the window closes, and a new one with “Install Guild Wars 2” appears. I hit install, then this window pops up, the same window as when I ran the GW2setup.exe as administrator except it never starts, it sits at 0KB (0KB/s). When I close the window, and try to reopen from the desktop, it gives me the error saying another copy is already running, or the application doesn’t have the permission to detect if another copy is running. It isn’t in the task manager under applications, and when I try to end process GW2.exe in processes or end process tree, it goes no where. No errors appear it just doesn’t go away. BUT after I have hit end process on it and try to open GW2 again it says something about C://Users/Wayne/AppData/Roaming/GuildWars2/local.dat cant be read blah blah blah but I can’t delete it, it’s in use. Please help resolve this, if possible. I have disabled security that I can but having trouble uninstalling Norton 360.

Your local.dat file may be set to read only, you need to disable this. Find the local.dat file, right click on it goto properties, and uncheck read only
