Hello!

Please, the english it’s not my mother language, sorry any grammar mistake

I’m back to gw2 after a month, before this break I was playing nicely, really good times! WvW with large zerg, open world, world events, big cities, doesn’t matter where or when, the game was perfect to me, no fps issue.

Before this break I was using a humble amd processor phenom x4 9850, cheap asus motherboard, 8gb ddr2 ram, and ati hd 6950 (modded to 6970), how you can see, this modest pc, was really fine to play gw2.

However, 1 month after this I’m back with a better stuff, amd fx 6100, cheap asus motherboard, 8gb ddr3 and the same video card ati hd 6950.

It’s not good when you need to go in some big city and see you fps drop to rough 6 fps, no I’m not kidding, 6 fps!.

AND, not even in the open world you a free this problem too, not so hard when you are in the city, but you have sometimes to play with this issue open world too.

How you can read, the game was fine, and suddenly my fps really dropped drastically, if you do a research in the forum you will find a lot of people getting the same issue then me, and most of them with the computer stronger than mine.

So, please stop saying your processor is old, you need a new video card, because it’s not, AGAIN, I WAS PLAYING WITH NO PROBLEM, with a pc weaker than have today.

Anet, please! do something about this.

Hello Hugo,
Please make sure you update the Asus BIOS to the recommended version which usually is the final or most recent revision released by the manufacturer. Then make sure you have installed Microsoft Windows Hotfixes kb2645594 & kb2646060. Try these steps out and see if your minimum fps rises.

Hi. I think trying those solutions first is definitely good!

I did find this post and although it is not the same issue, I wonder if it doesn’t possibly contribute to your issue as well. I found this on the “game won’t start” thread quoted as this:

Hey Guys,
I had a similar issue with crashing after hitting the play button. Like you, nothing appeared to have changed however the problem was tracked down to a program used with AMD radeon graphics cards called ASUS GamerOSD. Uninstalling this program fixes the problem.

I don’t know if this will help at all, but it’s worth a shot if Warder’s suggestion doesn’t fix your issue.

After that, look at the sticky for submitting a ticket, get your fix from Anet, then come back here and post what worked for you. Good luck.

Before the May patch I had 60 fps. After the first May patch, 10-15 fps. Half-second lag on skills. A-Net please investigate?

Download GPU-Z and run it:

http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/

Check the line (around the middle) that says “Bus Interface”. You should see “x16@x16” on that line, meaning that your graphics card is running at full speed.

It’s actually quite easy to install the card in a slower PCI-E slot which will result in low FPS.
