When I start the launcher for the game it no long auto logs in, the cursor is in the password field, if I hit login it will start the game as normal, its like the game did not patch correctly, when I try to use the -repair command it just crashes the launcher completely.

I have the same issue, last time support said to make a new user account on Windows. I can’t do this every single time it’s broken.

I will not make a new user account on windows, for something that worked perfectly before the patch, its clearly something that is broken since, 3 of my friends are getting the same problem as I am.

I am having the same issue it seems. Only when I try to log in directly it tells me the game client can’t log into the game server at this time and to check my router/firewall settings.

My router and firewall are fine. Still won’t let me log in.

All I can say it works for me. A 4 second count down after login is complete and bam, game starts.

This is what we are saying. I can login and play just fine, but I didn’t have to click “login” before – just starting up the launcher would automatically load up the game (after the 4 second “autoplay” timer). Looks like they changed this for some reason.

Edited to add: I haven’t bothered to mess with this, although I might try deleting the local.dat file.

The game will play fine, logging in is not the problem its the broken auto login option,

When the client starts it almost looks like the Password field is blank, but the login button is high lighted, when you click on it the game logs into your account, then the 4 second auto start counts down,

It never used to do this, you used to Start the client and it would auto start the game, no re-entering passwords/broken fields etc, this is happening to all of my friends since update, so its not a local issue.

Same problem, I need to re-type my password into the launcher every time. It won’t remember my password since the patch.

Same issue. On three different machines in two different locations. This is quite annoying, I want my game to login automatically again. I will submit a support ticket, suggest everyone having this problem do the same so it will get some attention.

Same issue here. Auto login will not automatically login, though I can hit enter and it will proceed fine.

But it’s not auto login it’s auto play. It should have never been auto login.

Same here… I need to enter the password every time even though the “save user” and “Save password” boxes are checked. The problem started after the last update and NO, I will not create a new user account in Windows as a work around. It’s a GW2 problem so fix it :-)

I have the same problem since the last patch. How the hell did you manage to break that?

Same here also (I went looking for that thread and the forum search didn’t find it :/ ).

To be more precise : It remembers my login & password, but I still have to click on “Login”. Which I didn’t have to before the September update.

PS: If creating a new Windows account solves the problem, it might mean there’s a register tweak to do to get this back to normal. At least it could be corrected for computer-savvy players.

So since I reported this there has been 8 hot fixes and a game update, and still this is broken with no dev response….

An answer from support would be nice.

If you add the command line parameter -autologin to the GW2 shortcut, GW2 autostarts as before the update.

You only need -autologin, no other parameters as possibly suggested by the wiki article. If you checked the two boxes to save account name and password, the game finally starts automatically with this option.

At least this is how I got it working again.

I should’ve thought to check the command line page.

There was a time when it wasn’t paying attention to the command line parameters because it only started working again after the last patch.
