Specs – Macbook Pro 2010 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4 GB 1067 MHz NVidia GeForce 320m 256 MB All low and None (if capable) settings playing in Windowed Mode 10.6.8

So I am getting 60 fps staring at ground and 30 fps running around PvE and 20 fps running around WvW and about 10-15 team fights. My main question is the game runs on Snow Leopard but was curious to know if any of you have started on snow leopard and then made the jump to Mountain Lion and seen any improvements in performance. I have seen better performance by switching the MDR3D (something like that) from “4” to “0”. Is there anything else I can do to increase performance? Is this all I can do with what I have? Mainly referring back to my main question. Thanks

hey I made the jump and i didn’t see ANY improvement. I may have actually seen a drop in frame rate, but that could’ve been from the latest major update. Over all, I’d say wait until Arenanet gets some issues figured out. Dropshadows and dynamic environmental shadows in dungeons/Lion’s Arc still slow me down to a crawl (the kind you can’t turn off), as well as dragon-level group events and dungeons. (I’m on a 2010 Imac 21’ with a decent amount of ram). Also there are no native User Interface improvements from snow leopard to Mountain Lion currently. I made that exact upgrade. We still get clipping because of the window wrapper and the main OSx menue bar. I made the leap to mountain lion because of this game and I haven’t found any real improvements at all. For now you just don’t see that spec warning anymore when you launch GW2.

Snow Leopard is not supported by the mac client. Your best bet is to upgrade.
