windows update … turn it off

the September 2013 updates sent my computer into fits
uninstalling them back to aug 28 th fixed that
one windows update from september turned off microsoft office (according to news reports at the time .. google it)
turns out they don’t even test them anymore before releasing them .. which is like filling your Aventador with Diesel

Nvidia drivers update
anything after the stable 314.22 works wonky

If your computer is working before windows or driver updates .. you don’t need the update

my system vista 64 sp2 .. i7 920 12GB .. nvidia 560ti twin frozr OC nothing overclocked

It’s not that they don’t test the updates, it’s that they test on a clean install of windows. It’s up to the 3rd party software devs to test there stuff, to make sure it works with the updates. It’s impossible for Microsoft to test there update with every app, program, software and game out there. since you are the first to post this then it’s most likely that you have something on you PC that after the windows update it made windows and GuildWars not play well together. If I hade to guess I would check and see if your motherboard chipset drivers are up to date those are very commonly overlooked when trouble shooting PC issues. Also I know its a pain but in your case you might want to reformat and reinstall windows, update windows install all latest stable drivers the install the game. I’m 99% positive all your problems with the game will be gone.

I do not have problems with running the game

I removed the updates from windows for WINDOWS

I removed my Nvidia driver and install 314.22 and DID NOT install the 3D software from Nvidia … I do not use 3D since I do not have monitors that can handle it nor do I have the glasses to convert the image to 3D

also nice that you did not notice that I had SOLVED my crashing problems BEFORE installing GW2 on my computer

But disabling windows update is not really a fix it’s more like a bandaid, windows updates are important. I let windows update automatically and there was just one the other day and still playing with no problems with the game so like I said I think there is more going with your PC that you may want to check into.
