Just putting this out there for anyone who has been experiencing performance issues.
Last week my system was hit with a wicked power spike killed my UPS and damaged my PSU but did not fry it completely.
I got my system back up and running with the same PSU after turning off the OC, removing second NIC and second sound expansion cards (have both on board as well)
GW2 was running at the same level of performance as the week before and then randomly the graphics would go fuzzy almost like I had set the options to a lower setting but that was not the case. Performance in FPS would also drop and because I already suspected a PSU issue I started running GPUZ on the second monitor with GW on the other. Every time the Video card tried to pull more voltage I had this change from crisp clear images to fuzzy blurry images and the FPS tanked. Graphics would stay like this until I rebooted the entire system. Anyways long story short new PSU and performance is back to normal so I am curious if a large number of performance issue maybe caused by a lack of power to the GPUS?

Thank you ST Babaganosh. I also suspect that this could be a reason some users are having unexpected FPS performance issues. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to confirm this is a factor outside of temporarily replacing the PSU. Even a top quality PSU can be a dud or become a dud with time. PSU’s naturally degrade with time…
Does anyone know of an easier way to verify whether a PSU is providing the required volts/amps to a GPU/CPU?

Besides sticking a multimeter or one of those fancy measuring tools into the cable pins and observing carefully, you can’t. With the exception of the AX1200, every PSU is still analog.
