draw distance for players???/npc's?
any help? i’m really desperate to fix this
I’m pretty sure one of the random patches made the draw distance like 20 meters from your character. I really wish I could get it back to normal too.

I agree, WHAT happened to the nice far draw distance?
This seems a quick “cheap” way to boost performance in large scale events. However, you will be fighting invisible players in WvWvW with this draw distance.
even npc´s in divinities reach pop up 10 meters from me regardsless of my lod distance being maxed out.

I can feel your pain. PvP in GW2 is awesome but with performance issues and “cheap” ways to try get a quick fix like this is making me give up on the game. I know the game has just been released but this is a major issue that deserves full attention.
And now (again) my post will be merged with the general FPS issues by a mod.

You can’t put a slider on this. It’s something set on the server side, not the client side.
The game is beautiful, but they don’t let you see it! I feel so lonely in game :*(

For the love of god, can we get a slider to INCREASE the draw distance. This 10meter popup of NPCs destroys the game atmosphere.
You know that yo uhave to be patient ? They’re hard at work on all bad stuff happening since the release of the game … Geeze yo should try game dev and see what happens when you release a mmo of that quality.
just increase the draw dinstance or give us a slider to increase it as much as we want.

You won’t get a slider. This isn’t a LOD issue. It has nothing to do with the game client.
It’s a performance optimization they implemented on the servers. Nothing you change on your computer or the game client would affect it.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
Please stop spreading false information arround the forum.
The entitys are still there right in front/arround of you, for your client as well as for the server, not matter if they are being rendered or not! otherwise the game wouldn’t be synchron at all.
What is causing the slow rendering is because of Occlusion Culling and obviously because of the change they did, the draw distance is indeed now only about 20 meters.
Again, if it was serverside, then i wouldn’t be able to interact with the invisible objects while they are invisible!
In WvW, i can AOE right in invisible objects and do damage to all invisble objects arround me. It’s just a rendering thing and has absolutely ZERO to do with the Server.
