I was on an solo-story instance when the game crashed this morning.
Since, i can’t log any character or create a new one, every time, i got the 5:11:3:157:101 error.

I was ablle to log a reroll that was on a capital, but he’s stuck too since i tried to change zone.

P.s. sorry for my bad English, it’s not my mother’s tongue.

Same issue for me since this morning. Despite them saying it’s fixed on twitter, the odd time I can get in with one of my characters, as soon as I use a waypoint I get kicked out and can’t log back into the game with them.

Yea, unless their idea of a “few” is 20 minutes, that doesn’t help.

No but i think it mean that it’s not a 100% up and running yet.

Same error here, can’t login with any of my characters….trying for about 2 hours now.

We have two PC at home with two GW2 account and it’s happening on both. It happened last week, then the problem disapeared for a few days and it’s happening again since yesterday. Sometime we can enter the game but when we change region on map the error happen.

It has been hours now yet not a single official update and/or reply from support. Frustrating to say the least.

They mentioned it on twitter and “fixed” it twice, but neither time I noticed any improvement in the situation. For the last hour they haven’t seemed to acknowledge it at all.

Exactly, seems like nobody of the GW2 team noticed this error…neither on twitter or on these forums…

Just managed to log in with my blocked character by transferring to an American server.

I will now try to move back to Whiteside Ridge and see if my character becomes unavailable again.

Oh, so that issue pops up to players from different servers…I’m on Seafarer’s Rest for example.

same problem here on Fissure of Woe server.

problem happens with char that are in Lion’s Arch, Metrica Province, and happened with two other char when i tried to enter a personal story instance. now with those two char when i try to log in i have another error code (Code=19:9:18:1803:101).

Transferring to a US server fixes it. Might as well do that while transfers are free.

Thanks for the hint, but I’m not really keen on transferring to a US server, since my guild and my friends are playing on the german server Kodash.

Guess I just have to wait until this is getting fixed

I have the same problem, on Drakkar Lake/See.

Just tested transfering my character to an US server and the problem is still there…

Same problem here (Switzerland, Gandara server). 2 pc’s in same house, we were in a dungeon and we both froze then got kicked out. Couldn’t get back in game – got to loading Mount Maelstrom screen and it would time out with the code 5.

Been trying to get back in for 30 mins and no joy.

Luranni, I’m also playing from Switzerland, and transferring to a US server allows me to play.

If I go back to the EU one that I was on (Whiteside Ridge), my character becomes unavailable due to network errors.

A pity we cant even get the slighest info from support, at the very least an acknowledgement of the issue (don’t care about Twitter, this is the official site and should be used as such).

Hah, swiss on gandara too! Same error though -.- Hope they’ll fix it soon

Agreed. The last “mention” of any issues was on Twitter more than 5 hours ago saying everything is fine. Nothing else at all that I can find – very frustrating.

Not sure how it could be down to ISP, my husband is playing an alt but can’t log his main so it seems to be a very odd bug indeed.

I guess i could log my alt in because i logged to the overflow server. Home server seems to have some problems :s

Logging an alt only works until you change zone or something – then you get kicked out on that one and can’t get back in (at least that’s what just happened to me).

ID server seems to be in a bad shape too. Sometimes it works and sometime not.
Networking seems to be weird tonight :s

I’m begging Anet to look at this thread. If it’s the majority of swiss players then that’s a biggish issue.

It’d be nice if they even said “yes we’re aware of it” after 6 hours.

Found a workaround ^^ I’ve created a new charcater, logged in with it. Delogged and relogged with my main. Try it guys

I hit create and got the same Code 5 within 30 seconds before even starting creation :P.

If it IS somehow a Swisscom issue rather than GW2 perhaps Anet could say so and we can all go yell at them…. no info or feedback at all in such a long time is rather disheartening to say the least.

it is probably not a swisscom problem because they had people encountering this exact error yesterday… they were able to fix it for them it seems but now they broke it for us. but something is fishy with the routing none the less… login server times out every now and then for me too.

Problem back again. In fact i logged in to overflow server but when i switch to home i’ve been disconnected with error 5:11:3:157:101 :s

Yeah if you do get in, do NOT use waypoints or change zones or enter instances… Just go Malchor’s Leap and do ring-around-the-karma-cathedral :P.

I can’t get in at all now, on anything though….

also switzerland/swisscom. Most of the time i cant login at all and the few times i can, i cant log in with any of my chars except 1 lvl2 alt.

Using open dns fixed it for me. Living in Switzerland

I’m also from Switzerland, I have swisscom. Same issue.

I did try creating a new character, that didn’t work. As soon as it tried to load the defence of shaemoore area it kicked me out and then that character hasn’t worked since.

I had a sylvari in the first zone that I could play with until I had to go into an instance, same with a low level human.

Like I said, transferring to a US server allows me to play with my main – so that points to it being something on ANet’s EU side rather than ours.
