I’m too Swiss, and I have no problem, altough my sister is playing and she has this problem too!
Playing of the same router (Swisscom ofc)
Seems many people in Switzerland have the error 5:11:3:157:101, hope we will be able to play again soon!
As I said before, I DON’T have the problem, but I want to attach my pingpath too

Don’t know if this information is useful, but when I switched to an American server (was Drakkar Lake) the problem apparently disappeared.

It’s not only the 5:11 error, but I can even hardly log in my account at the very begining when I start GW2.exe. In 9 of 10 tries I get an error with the failing connection with the login server. If I’m very lucky and get past this wall of hindrance I’m sure getting kicked on the character selection screen in an attempt to login with the 5:11 error.
finally i can play again… either it’s time based (from 6 pm) or anet fixed through last patch…

I can play too, but I had to do at least10 connexion attempts before I didn’t get error 58 or 5.

Forget what I said… I tried to take a waypoint from Lion’s Arch and I get error 5
It’s been 3 days now……
I don’t want to be forced to transfer for playing with the risk of being forced to pay to get back to the EU without the certitude of getting on my home server – thinking here of my highly populated home server and the fact we don’t know about the time when they will put an end to free transfers.

I can’t see how this helps. We can play on US Server, so the game data can’t be deficient. It has to be something with the network.
Anyway… I’m trying right now with a copy of the folder I did for this kind of purpose.
EDIT : Just tried. It seems to work so far. It could be usefull to have some other people to try it and make feedback to see how it works. Thanks for the information julS.

After 2 failed login attempts I managed to finally choose my character and start. It is working at the moment but I’m sure it will stop really soon like yesterday

i think anet should tell us that it will still be for free to change to our european homeserver… so i would change to us too…

Same problem in Spain, started yesterday at 4:30:am. Can’t connect since that with any pj -.-U
Tried to change the server and i see its free, but… For how many time? I wanna play, in spanish or american server, but i dont want any problem for come back to my server.
Any new info about that?

Yep me too. So nice to have no use for the last free days of this year…
After three full days this error is still there and we can’t play GW2.
I’m also going to cry, and this is getting really annoying.
I thought that with this new “little patch” everything would be fine today, but that didn’t happen.

Anet certainly added something wrong in the patch code they applied during the night between sunday and monday.
Everything worked fine till this update. Just look at this, maybe you could get the game back to the version before sunday patch and work on something that doesn’t break the game for us…
The only chance to play GW2 is to play on an american server. Otherwise the game crashed anytime

This is most certainly an ISP & infrastructure problem rather than something that Anet have done. Particularly as 99% of the people with problem are living in Switzerland and using Swisscom.
So how do you explain that some of my friends, who live in Geneva like me, using the exact same internet forfait as me with Swisscom (same router) can play without this issue?

Very strange problem??? Did someone open a ticket at swisscom?
It could be so many things. i think the problem lies within arenanet though. Because for all of us it stopped working after an update they did. The update fixed this exact error for many other players in other regions of europe but unfortunatly it broke for us…
i once played a game called darkfall online (RIP). from one day to the other it stopped working saying authentication error… i tried for a whole week, even installed windows from scratch. still not working. i was the only person of the whole community who had this problem… i nearly went insane. after a week i found out what it was… my freaking soundcard driver… no joke. after i took out my soundcard it worked again… an update of the darkfall launcher just was not compatible with the soundcarddriver. apparantly they used the same windows internal port… yeah that’s when i learned windows has internal ports…
such problems can be caused by such strange things and i bet it’s something like that… else it makes no sense… a combination of location / hardware / software we all share.

I’m another swiss from Lausanne and yeah… connected through Swisscom.
Guess what!? I’m having the same anoying problem (Code=5:11:3:157:101)!!
I’ve tryed many tricks from saturday till now, but nothing more than this frustrating Error screen.
I can connect to my character selection screen but when I try to connect to the game: one is blocked between two maps (occuring the error screen) and I don’t want to change map with the other (always on an overflow server), affraid of being blocked with both…
So like all the other gameless swiss, I’m waiting for a patch or a real solution to play this stuning game.
