read timeout option for update downloads
i tried your command line…but the client doesn’t reinitialise.
and…
did you understand why does it happen?
i tested my router and the connection doens’t fall when dl goes to 0.
is there any fix?
A number of us are having a problem where updates downloads at normal speeds but after a while the download speed drops to 0kb/s and then nothing happens.
This is fixed by closing the gw2.exe client and restarting.
Some have speculated that this is a router issue and it’s possible that it is as I have the same issue with other large downloads, however the problem can be easily solved with an additional command line option -timeout <string>
With this setting we can run the gw2.exe like this
gw2.exe -image -timeout 30
which will then download all the files needed and if a download drops to 0kb for more than 30 seconds the client re-initializes the down.
This will make our lives so much easier as right now we spend half an evening just managing the downloading of the updates.
Thanks
