Tarnished Coast: Welcome to your new server
I have been on TC for about 5 months now and was on 2 different servers before TC. TC has by far the best community and the most fun while staying competitive. If you want to join BG or SOR because you want to ride on their coattails, go for it you’re probably not who we’re looking for. But if you want to be competitive without losing your sense of self, join TC. If you want to join a good group, working to get better, join TC. We have weekly training sessions led by Commander Jadon and are always willing to offer advice. Join TC, if you dare.

If you are new to the server and/or WvW, feel free to find your nearest DIS guild member and ask for some pointers, we enjoy helping new players get used to the fun and crazy that is WvW. You can find the schedule of when we are running heavily in WvW dissentient.org but there is usually someone running around. Our main days are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Come Join us for a good time, and only a possible chance of death, we aren’t imortal after all…

I have been on TC since Beta. I am part of the RP community as well as the WvW community. I am to all intents and purposes a casual player with average to “what the heck are you doing????!!!! Use the pointy end.” skill but the wonderful thing about TC is that they are very accepting and helpful as well. I have a certain niche in WvW that allows me to be effective as a scout and sentry while still enjoying the fun of an occasional fight.
While I will not lie – there’s some friction from time to time – TC is respectful of its militia regulars. The major guilds listen to my call outs, accept my help and welcome me in raids and zergs without being boogers about it. Awful behavior is not tolerated and the community in general discourages trolling. This is not to say we’re all grannies who never cuss (oh lord no, just join mumble at prime time), but that we respect each other enough not to go in for personal attacks. Teasing is, of course, something that happens – we all do dumb stuff like follow commanders off cliffs or attack our own gates because we forgot we were blue this week… * ahem *.
TC will be TC in its own TC way for each TC.

I’m currently looking for a new WvW Server because HoD is a dying breed of players. But, the server I want to transfer to, HAS to be great at WvW. I would be looking for a guild with very active WvW’ers all times of the day who are very skilled at 25+ open fights and also good at 3-5 man roamers trying to make the difference when necessary. Does Tarnished Coast have what I’m specifically looking for? Mail me in game.

You can definitely find all of that and more on TC Sent you an in-game mail with more details.

Yes you can for sure find that on TC. We have several guild groups that run 25+ and love open field combat. I’m going to put in a sell here for my guild STUN which I think sounds like a good fit based on what you’re looking for above. Please feel free to PM me sometime (Banelene). I’m also one of the commanders of both STUN and a pugmander for the server.

Tarnished Coast is the one server with the attitude, talent, population, and stability to be the 4th T1 server. All we would need for that to happen is some more EU/Oceanic/SEA coverage.
Not necessarily saying that is what we are aiming for, but it is something to think about.
Zombie Coast is also one of the few Worlds that keep the promises made to their adversaries, you need not look farther than the past three months to convince yourselves of this.
At the moment, the World is in a perfect position for a recruitment drive. All time zones have a good core of veteran Zombies any transferred guild would find it a pleasure to work with and who ensure one feels part of a lively community, while, at the same time, even NA would need 3-4 decently sized guilds before hitting genuine queues outside Reset. It’s worth coming over if only to see what a healthy WvWvW community looks like outside of the lag-ridden Tier 1.
Borderland maps hardly ever have a queue (except on reset of course). If that’s your guild’s favorite map, I would look into TC for more fights, flipping, and fun atmosphere.

The best T1.5 server of all time
Because of recent transfers to SoS, FA, SBI and a competitive MAG this server is probably in the most evenly competitive bracket of fights right now. You will find support if you join and the opportunity to do every kind of WvW fighting from havoc to roaming to zerg busting to blobbing. I think if you are defensive minded you will also find great support and would be appreciated. Militias here are treated with respect and good leaders are given room to break in to lead.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
With SoR tanking, we are likely going to start seeing a lot more T1 action very soon. Which means we will definitely need some more WvW coverage to keep pace with BG and JQ.
Everyone on the contact list is still active and involved. Look one of us up to find out more about what being a part of Tarnished Coast can mean to you.
A fair assessment of TC is that we have great NA coverage but our coverage during SEA/Oceanic is a bit low at times.
If you’re a SEA/Oceanic player/guild that’s looking to transfer to a competitive WvW server that is constantly growing and expanding (likely to Tier 1 in the near future) please consider TC as a possible new home.
My guild that I lead, Methods of Mayhem would be glad to welcome you. We really enjoy the fights and my focus is on the SEA/Oceanic time slot. PM me if you’d like some more details about TC or MoM. Cheers!

How are the servers TC goes up against roaming wise? Also are there solid roaming guilds on TC? Also why should I go to TC over BG my old server(on BP right now)?
D/D S/D SB
I would say that every T1 – T2 server has a little bit to offer every style of WvW player. This is no different on TC. We have guilds that run roaming and havoc, we have some guilds that prefer to focus on defense, and some that prefer running skill/zerg busting groups. We have our commanders that are great at leading militia and others who prefer running as smaller guild groups.
We make it all work through communication.
Both TC and BG offer solid communities and a lot of great players and guilds. The main difference would be we don’t have much in the way of queues on TC, so there is still a lot of room for more WvW players to come join in on the action with us.
There is also the fact that Blackgate is full currently.
Karuna was pretty comprehensive, but just to go into a bit of detail in what your second question is concerned:
Also are there solid roaming guilds on TC?
I would say a great many 24/7, but it also depends upon the distinction between roaming and havoc. During Oceanic and SEA, all of our prominent guilds are basically glorified havocs of ~15 players and the situation often asks for them to split into roaming groups, and there are NA insomniacs from larger guilds like STUN who roam lots during Oceanic too. EU is another good time zone because lots of NA players belonging to large, hardcore WvWvW guilds log in early and roam together whenever there’s no large threat to answer to. During NA proper, they group up for prime time, but we have Cult, YOHO and TUNE, which I think would fit your definition of ‘serious roaming guild’ very well. And then we have havoc guilds (~10 players) such as DIS, FLUX and a handful of others whose numbers dwindle as the evening goes on and players in larger guilds who are assigned to scouting and roaming (NOPE has a particularly good roaming party I always found to be a pleasure to work with).
Hope that helps.

A lot of opportunities in T2 match ups to find quality competition. During leagues we could find good roams against BG and SoR (no roaming coming from JQ) with some leaving SoR competing against them may have changed but I cannot speak to that since we have not matched up against them but have seen the ones that xferred to FA and SoS.
Right now T2 is the best WvW experience bar none. I think you can ask MaG SBI FA and SoS the fights are active and competitive. There are times when TC is outnumbered by groups from these servers but still take the field. Havoc is well organized and not just ganks but havocs and roams.
If you want a challenge come to TC if you want to be part of an overpopulated server and one of the masses BG or JQ but you will get your points there I just don’t think it will be as fun.

Aloha guys!
I also have to add that TC is also a great place for duels. Obsidian Sanctum is populated, in most time zones, with great duelists. Yeah, we have some trolls…but they are kept to a minimum…xD
If you don’t find us in OS, search the south part of the map (bridge near South Camp) and you will probably be able to get some interesting fights!
So, if you want a server where you can roam and have nice duels (because, let be honest, killing baddies in 1vx is not always fun), come to TC!
Tarnished Coast stands poised to make a big impact in the upcoming tournament. We have had a few new arrivals and a number of inquiries. TC would still warmly welcome any other guilds who would like to come make a run with us. This is the server that never gives up and is always right in the thick of the action.
We have multiple community reps ready and willing to work with your guild and answer any questions.

Congrats, TC just earned itself another WvW ranger.
Currently @ some T1 server in EU
I was reading several topics recently about our home Tarnished Coast, and what makes it a great place to call home as a gamer. It’s so difficult to pare down into a few phrases, because it’s not just one thing or another. It’s the sum of it’s quirky and engaging residents.
What has been created here is truly a community, in the best sense of the term. There is room for folks to be who they are, not simply an avatar. Not just keyboard heros doing heroic things, but folks. Friends even, new and old having adventures together. Sometimes winning, sometimes not, but always together standing by one another.
Here on TC it’s not always the big things, like did you kill a dragon, did you save the world from evil, but more of how you treat your friends and how you stand with them. It’s the small every day things that create something that is more than the sum of it’s parts. It’s the spirit of fun and never defeatist attitudes that makes our community a place that always feels like home.
That being said, TC also has some major talent in all areas of the game. Our WvW teams/guilds work very diligently and while we don’t always win every match-up, we will always show up and fight on. So if your guild is seeking a rewarding WvW experience where it’s about the fights, the match-up and battling with your mates alongside you. Afterwards, kicking back and watching the videos and sharing some fun times, then contact one of our community leaders.
As its spot here solidifies, Tarnished Coast welcomes all players who wish to join us in building a ferocious, fearless, fierce yet friendly Tier 1 World.
Leaving Tier 2 behind after nigh-on a year engenders a certain sadness, particularly knowing that it means Fort Aspenwood and us will be parting ways. We thank you for having been such a resourceful rival through good and bad; your headstrong community will be missed by many on Zombie Coast. Kudos FA!
By the by, few knew and even fewer remember now the spark that ignited our arch-feud, thus here’s a memento of those times – it also constitutes the origin of our infamous dolyak parades.
Have fun in Tier 1!

Thank ya, we are enjoying the challenge and it is nice having some solid reinforcements come in to help give us a more competitive edge.
Also, there is still room for more WvWers to join in our European, Oceanic, and SEA time slots. Just chat up any of our listed server contacts for more info.
Good luck to you guys in T1!
Guild Wars 2 needs a Public Beta Environment
We thank you so much, we know what it meant to say it and we are deeply regretful that our ascension took place as the Sanctum fell, even more so seeing as we had no particular ambitions to climb. Now that we did, all we can do is break into this place guns blazing.
If you are a medium to large NA guild looking to transfer to TC for WvW purposes, we would currently suggest you please strongly consider looking elsewhere as well, not because we don’t want to meet more friendly people, but because we have had a steady influx of guilds in the last 2-3 weeks and so are fairly packed during NA time zones already. Thus we would like to discourage any further significant NA transfers to TC at this time.
If you decide to come here regardless, that’s fine and we will still warmly welcome you to the community! But you may be assigned to EotM during reset nights for the rest of time. :P
Oh, and feel free to join our server forums to say hi if you’re friendly, even if you don’t reside/end up on TC!

This is the only appropriate thread for this post, so I apologize if it’s in the wrong area..
I have planned on transferring to TC for quite some time after 6 months on SoR. I’m fairly experienced with WvW but largely a PvE player. However, I do enjoy working with organized guilds.
Questions:
1.) Anyone know of any TC WvW guilds that are not 100% rep but still play organized? That may seem like a contradiction but I’m hoping there is one out there
2.) Does TC have a shared TS/Mumble server for WvW fights, or does each guild have their own server?
I’d say the large majority of our WvW guilds are not 100% rep. Most mainly want you to rep them while in WvW, but there’s a lot of crossover membership even between WvW guilds.
And we indeed have a TC Mumble server that nearly all the WvW guilds and lots of Militia use!

Just came here to say, congrats TC on your T1 win.
For those considering a transfer to TC here’s a brief summary of the different time zones:
NA – chockers (ie do you like waiting in ques?)
OCX – you simply can’t have too many and TC have never had a lot.
SEA – TC has some, JQ has blobs and blobs. If you like fighting against bigger numbers, if you like blob busting this may be for you.
EU – has any NA server complained about having too many?
If you or your guild are looking to transfer I would comment that T1 has lots of blobs and lag. Don’t neglect to check out T2 where you will find a thriving gvg scene with some very skilled fighting guilds, less blobs and less lag.
I’m not a representative of the server, just an individual.
NA prime time guilds, TC is really starting to see some major ques in prime time. (My experience) I would recommend looking at some to the T2 servers if you want to keep your guild together during your raid times (this would also promote healthy fights all around). Other time zones are pretty open and in dire need.
From what I have seen. DB has a tremendous night shift (I admit it has been a while since I have faced them) and could really use a healthy NA crew. (Just a suggestion)
Again, I am not an official speaker for TC…..or DB for that matter :-)
While the server status may not be full, the WvW maps during NA are beyond full. IF you’re an NA WvW player TC is not the right fit for you. If you’d like to come primarily to roleplay, that’s a different story and we’d love to have you. However, if you’re interested in playing WvW during NA we just plain don’t have any room left to squeeze anyone in.
It should also be noted that once the upcoming tournament begins, the current queues will only get worse.
NA on TC is FULL. Unless you want to sit in queues daily its not recommended to transfer to TC. Any one of the t2 servers are solid choices for NA coverage, DB is also a very solid choice as they are on the cusp of T2.
We are still actively seeking OCX/SEA/EU guilds to compete with JQ/BG at a healthy level.

Please welcome [SE] Side Effect, a large NA guild, to Tarnished Coast!
Please welcome [SE] Side Effect, a large NA guild, to Tarnished Coast!
Welcome SE !!!!
Also, with regards to NA coverage. We are not discouraging anyone who wants to be part of our community to come here. But we do want to let you now that maps are getting queued during NA times larger groups may have trouble with some guild runs. I would say that this is until about 10PM server time so west coasters and late nighters will find very good action and fights.
We could use the most help from 3AM -11 AM server times.
As far as how things are I think we have done well with the recent growth. TC is about positive attitudes and letting people enjoy the game. Even those who are “for the fights” care enough about the server to support PPT and also to HoP maps to help out when called upon. We have been very lucky in that our new Toasters have been very willing to embrace the community. If you have a friend who just transferred here ask them how they feel they have been welcomed and treated.
YOHO (A Pirates Life for Me)
Could you please update your guild list to reflect the new guilds in TC such as the SOR WvWers that merged with TC? Thanks :-)
Belated thank you, Natronix!
Jeff, we will get to it, eventually. Surtout, pas trop de zèle, after all.
Tarnished Coast continues to urge all players and guilds focusing on the 5-9 PM PST time slot to look elsewhere, the queues will persist and, at the end of the day, these will hurt both your crew and our community.
That said, we welcome off-hours WvWvW players and guilds, be they Oceanic, SEA or EU, Tarnished Coast has yet to see genuine queues in any of these time zones and their arrival is our best bet against further NA additions.
A special note concerning our Mandarin-speaking community.
While Tarnished Coast’s Mandarin-speaking WvWvW players are split across a few other guilds as well (Awe, INVC, and, especially, NYS), our latest crack SEA team, Ni Hao My Friend [Hi], which is comprised of main land Chinese, Singaporeans and Taiwanese, is particularly interested in offering such players a home. Hi currently raids 5-6 days a week, 6 to 9 AM PST, as a zerg-busting crew, and is also interested in the GvG scene. Having already watched them successfully solve quite a number of situations against all odds, I really hope to see them become a landmark guild for Mandarin-speaking players from all over.

I would love to contribute my tiny damage during SEA timing, Problem is, the server is 24/7 full. I’ve tried every time slot (including setting alarm waking up at mid night) except when I’m working. I know of a few SEA people waiting to transfer as well. If we could, request for a black out period of 5mins for the rest who are unable to join TC.
Thank you.
The best time to try to get in would be SEA time. early early NA, not on a weekend.

TC are still very much in the hunt for SEA guilds who would like to come and experience competitive game play on a very welcoming server. Like all servers we are trying to make sure that our non peak times have enough guilds and militia so as to avoid burnout.
We play competitively for ppt but also for fun. Please contact someone on TC if interested and we will discuss the potential times you can get in.

Any OCX/SEA/EU players and guilds welcome to TC! Come join a competitive server in a competitive match-up in preparation for seasons!
I have been on TC since beta, and I have seen it go through many changes, some good…some bad.
They used to laugh at us a lot, being the roleplay server, and now we are one of the highest ranked wvw servers for the game.
TC is the best server if you want to enjoy /all/ aspects of the game, be it PvE,WvW, Rp, World bosses… we have it all. Not only that, but we try to have a really open outlook and welcoming attitude to all the new people who come.
I know we have scheduled blackouts in the past, and we will do so again in the future. Really hope we can get some more people in to fill our SEA/Oceanic timezones. We need some help against the Jade Quarry sea of red we end up facing in those time slots.
However, if we dont, we will make do. We are used to fighting larger numbers with better tactics and mobility. It is what has carried us through so far, and will continue to do so in the future.
Sidenote: One of the best things about WvW on TC is that it isnt ‘super serious’ everyone has a great time on mumble just talking and making jokes while we run around fighting, and since we are all in one big mumble, it really makes everything much easier to move back and forth. Try it, I think you will like it!
It is inspiring and motivating to see the post here. But really, coming from a SEA timezone player who is getting 5hrs sleep time per day, trying to get into TC for the past week, it feels like a dream.
I tried requesting for help from TC, from my guild in TC, from wvw SEA guilds, no one gets back to me on any possible blackout. The guild HI did attempt a blackout once, but it was not enough to turn into “Very High”. And yes, I tried every kitten odd timing except during my work time. I even guest to TC and beg. I am talking nonsense I know, lack of sleep since last wed isn’t healthy.
Anyone, any guilds, any voices from TC that can organize things, please help me.
TC goes very high a couple of times a day, I mailed you the times.
Make sure you restart your client, the server status does not refresh if you just logout of your character. You have to completely restart the game.
