Not sure if this has been suggested before, but what if camps, towers, keeps, etc all had ownership decay like ruins do?

Obviously when one side starts to dominate the other two give up, and the leaders point gap gets easier to maintain. So why not have the controlling side lose their objectives if they don’t man them?

Could help to level the scores no?

With the current ram mastery, omega golems at a dime a dozen, and massive zergs, your idea would make it even less likely that anything would ever be upgraded. If you have only 6-8 people on your map in the wee hours it is possible they could stop an attack, but those 8 people could not cover all 13 objectives on a map to avoid decay.

Maybe… maybe it could something that only starts if you control “too much”. If on EB a team owns more than his corner it could start to affect them. To prevent them from controlling evem more stuff…

But that would need a lot of people that stay back per objective. So their zerg gets smaller. And that would be boring for the people staying back.

So I’d say no.

yes i suggested that once you hold something for 24 hours it begins to decay upgrades and unless things are continuously researched they will revert to paper.

Yes but you don’t have to cover all 13 objectives. The objectives that no team can cover turn grey and are owned by NPCs, and no one scores points off them. But provided you are in front on points its ok.

Upgrades could be factored in, like it only gets downgraded if an enemy captures it rather than it decaying into the hands of NPCs.

All it would do is stop the team with the most players from scoring off empty buildings.

It also means the zerg has to split up if they want to maximise PPT.

I dont think it will solve PPT. even in Bronze League in EU -Dzag,RoS and DL have enought people to have queue on all maps. So they will have people to manage towers/keeps.

I had another idea: what if tower/keep/camp will give points when captured, then for next hour every 15 minutes (like now) and than every hour for 24 hours and then every 2 hours if one team owns it constantly.

Like that server with the most people will have not so many points from their fully upgraded garison for whole week. Like smaller server will get more points from constant fights over cragtop/longview than the big server from their untouched gari.

Or idea 2:
higher tier or walls=lower points from objective, like you need to choose, want to fully upgrade to have advantage or more points? if you have people to maintain upgrades and defend it,you dont need so many points because you are probably stronger. And if you dont upgrade, you wont hold it for long.

I’m tired of everyone wanting to be with a zerg and not anyone defending stuff. So I’m thinking the opposite : the more upgrades, the more points it gives (I’ll let Anet, if they implement this idea, bother with getting the correct numbers).
This way, more people will be on defense, and the effect of night-capping will be reduced unless they stay behind for hours to upgrade tower and camps.

But its easier for the winning side to upgrade, and hold their stuff. That would just widen the gap.
