i would say Guardian.

Play either one, Plate+Hammer seems to be the the way to go in wvw right now, just look at the groups you fights its almost always guard+warrior+token water field(Ele) plus fillers till you can get another guard or warrior.

The are both 2 of the easier classes to play. I would say warrior if you want a damage base class or Guardian if you like the support role a little more. If you want to do a little of both and make your zerg leader pull his hair out of his head when he sees you; play a Ranger or Engineer.

I have both Guardian and Warrior but I prefer guard almost all the time in WvW.

I love my guardian but I’d recommend warrior. Not only are they great in a zerg but they also roam a lot more effectively than a guardian. Guardians can roam just the mobility of a warrior is definitely higher. But both of them are excellent choices for WvW

I guess it depends on what you want. Guardian is going to get you way more loot with staff skill 1 and the offensive tome. It will also give more team support. Warrior typically gives poop loot (compared to most professions) but it has considerably more surivability and WAY more speed than guardian. Warrior is going to give more WXP and karma because it’s speed will help you get to the capture circles in towers/keeps faster and it’s better survivability will make it more likely for you to stay alive when getting to the capture circle. I have done WvW on both guardian and warrior and use PTV on both. I find it 3-4 times easier to survive on warrior than guardian despite most people probably wouldn’t agree. The quick speed of warrior allows you to get out of a losing zerg fight. My warrior also has 13k more hp than my guardian (33k) and maybe 700 or so more toughness (3.8k). My warrior also has two endure pains and the 3 second shield blocking skill to go along with 6 or so condition removals and 700 hp per second permanent natural health regen so I love my warrior a lot more than my guardian.

Also, I like that on warrior I can catch up to the zerg quick if I just WP’d in to the BL. On guardian it takes more time and if just 1 enemy player attacks me while I’m trying to get back to my train, I’m dead. I’m way too slow on guardian to get away and definitely have no 1v1 build whereas on warrior I can just keep running. I have ran right through a zerg of 50 a few times (it does take them to mess up a little bit to pull it of).

Flip a coin… like to do damage more (warrior) or support the group more (guardian)? Both have become “necessary” to the modern zerg.

As a Guardian i would say choose a Warrior you will have alot of options to choose your gameplay.

Doesn’t matter, you can faceroll easy with all the other guardians/warriors in your zerg. It’s all the game is anymore.

I prefer warrior because of the mobility offered to me while I roam.

For guild raids, I love calling hammer stuns. Guardian doesn’t really have a cool call out like that, unless you consider “spin to win” a legitimate call out. But even in that case, hammer stun is the king of call ours.

I’d say guardian just because the common consensus seems to be warrior is OP. Generally that means nerfs on the horizon. It’s warrior though, or The Great Goldenchild Profession of GW2, so it’ll probably just keep getting buffs. Hey, if over 50% of players play warrior anyway, making them auto-win is good, right? Majority wins, gg.

Anyway, I have both. Leveled warrior first. I find guardian more fun, but that’s me. The amount of detail in the topic post doesn’t really leave room for more than “I like X” comments.

Guardian gets you more loot bags and has pretty good survivability.

I would roll a warrior. Its tankier and does more damage. It has range. And to top it off its support just got boosted.

Main reason…. its not hard to give yourself 16 sec of stability and has the best condition cleansing in the game. So you are well protected from the 2 bad parts of this games meta.

Earth shaker every 6-8 sec ftw.

Its the Chuck Noris of GW2.

With the new update, there’s no point playing guardian anymore since War can do that role just fine. So war.
