This is so absurd that I cannot even begin to express how much I LOATHE you, and all of the people who think this is a good idea…
WvWvW is a 24/7 Week Long Battle. If your World cannot field players 24/7 then you will lose, that is just the reality of it. Simply put, if another World has better time zone coverage than you, then they are a BETTER WORLD at WvW… The matchmaking will eventually get servers matched against similar servers, but that will take time.
But making it such that points/upgrades/captures/WvW is closed at off-peak hours really only makes me think one thing…

It’s broken because points are raked up 24/7.
Between the hours of 12am to 8am WvW points should not be counted. During these hours you should not be able to upgrade your castles, towers or place spam arrow carts(SM is notorious for this) or any other type of siege bar battering rams.
Problem fixed. A competitive across the board experience.

Why don’t they just region lock then and match oceanic with the asians? You can’t talk to the other servers anyways so language isn’t an issue.

Are you just completely failing to understand the point of WvW?
It is a 24/7 Week Long Battle. If your server cannot field players during certain hours, but the opponent can, then they are going to win. Over time, the match making will get everyone matched against servers that have similar hours and similar populations, but that will take time.
Also, complaining about being matched against an Oceanic/Asian server and claiming that they have an unfair advantage is sort of obtuse, because either they have the same problem you do(when they go to sleep the other servers become active) or they are simply playing more/better than you and therefore deserve to be winning.
Also, the fact that player population matters in WvW is not a design flaw. It is the reality of having an entire World playing for a team and playing against other Worlds with their own teams. If a World manages to get more players and better players, they are simply a better world at WvW.
Regarding the statement on the last page(which I cannot quote for some reason) by Apotheosis:
“You do realize that post is very new. No one bought the game after reading that post and reached lvl 80 yet. All the news actually going into detail about their shell of an endgame is brand new.”
Watch the Manifesto again… Watch any interview they have ever given about the game again… This has been the entirety of their communication about the game from day 1. I thought that it was ridiculous that they needed to post that blog in the first place, because as far as I was concerned they had already stated it thousands of times over the past several years.
Also, I’m having no problems with the end game at all, because my approach to the end game thus far has been to slowly work my way towards the Legendary Weapons and the Dungeon Sets, while regularly going off for diversions in the low/mid level zones where I either repeat content or discover content that I missed. The Meta-Events throughout the game meet all my expectations of what the “end game” should be, and since I am not just going around the Lvl 70+ zones over and over, I don’t feel like I am grinding. Treat Tyria like a living world, and you will be amazed at how well the design works. Don’t spend all of your time in the same zones. If you get bored doing something or feel like it is a grind, go to another zone and enjoy that content. There is more content there than you probably think…
