Yea that rant just came across as “leave my friend alone!”

At the end of the day they were advertising the “strength” of something which has long been shunned by people who do dungeons/fractals. It was never going to have a happy ending.

Even if the build is super helpful and isn’t a wasted space the entire idea of the build goes against the philosophy of “L2Dodge” that has been blasted around for the past 3 years. It’s going to take a while and a lot of data for a build such as “skady” was using to be accepted by a consensus.

Anyway I’m a believer that it’s impossible to maintain mature discussion in any public forum. It’s inevitable for hive-minds to form and bury any form of real debate. This forum probably isn’t any better or worse than most other forums/sub-forums in regards to that; it’s just how things work.

The idea of the restricted ruleset was that for something to be banned, you had to be able to prove why it was ban worthy by associating it to a general logical rule. That way personal opinion was very rarely a factor in whether or not something was banned because no matter how much someone disliked something, if they were unable to make a solid argument that it was an exploitative action akin to other disallowed actions, rather than a gimic, it would not be banned.

I feel like making exceptions and inconsistencies across different party sizes makes it more difficult and confusing for people than it really needs to be.

I think i agree with Snowball on this. But im on the fence about if the entire group moves to another guild. But then records are usually done for the guilds reputation. So moving it just because the members moved is a bit odd. They can always beat their own record with their new guild.

How I dealt with it, was I required proof that the leader of the original guild was ok with record credit transfer, assuming that the group wishing to transfer the record title met the other criteria (pretty much just having majority of the party members, i.e. 3/5).

Just thought I’d share that. It’s up to Wethospu and the community whether or not they wish to continue with the precedents I set.

Racial skills are now banned under the GWSCR ruleset, and as such will not be allowed in the DnT tournament.

Use it for trash skips, same as it always had been.

Guru may not be that active anymore, but you may be able to get some traction with a reddit post and perhaps some advertising in the appropriate spots on this forum. Just get a couple buddies together with a common cause, and put together a google doc organised with buyers for x paths.

It may be overly formal for some people, but it really is the best way to get a list of trusted buyers that you can work with.

Take precautions. Build a list of trusted buyers and advertise appropriately.

Vix/Brazil/Crigger and I sold easily a few hundred runs and hardly even used the LFG tool. If you want to provide a service known to be ‘high’ risk, then put in the effort to mitigate it.

It stems from a particular case of community collaboration that happened in the past, related to the “speedclear community”. The people who were apart of it may understand where the seemingly illogical mindset is coming from, otherwise yes I would agree with you. I’m not saying I agree with the actions being taken or the attitudes that are surfacing because of them, but there is more to the story than this thread shows.

It’s something that doesn’t need to be discussed in this thread any longer, so if you’d like to know more about it then you can PM me here on the forums. Lets try keep the thread clean.

People are just not stopping to think about what they’re reading. If they actually took a second to think about it, they’d realise nothing is different than what the current standard is for record runs and the upcoming tournament.

The record rules pretty much matched those definitions anyway, which is kind of cool

Defiant Stance has better HPS, better burst heal and allows you to even tank hits.

Try putting a thread up on guildwars2guru.com if you haven’t already. I had a thread up there for me and some buddies a while back when we used to sell and it pulled a lot of traffic. I think the site might be kind of inactive now, but could be worth the try.

We have conflict because the minority of people who bother to read and give sensical replies get drowned out by the sheer amount of froth from others.

Realistically, we can just conclude that “Extremists from each party are why each side sees the other as evil”, but that’s pretty hard to say because it steps on toes apparently.
