I play from Perth Australia, I have a great connection speed top of the line pc and can play any other game in the US with out an issue.

The game is completely unplayable for me in WvW now. I don’t know what the changes were, but since the Pre-Christmas update I cant wvw at all. I just rubber band around the place and die like a scrub. I don’t even bother to login in anymore, I’m waiting for the next update to see if they fix it by accident.

I’m really regretting all the $$$ I put in to gems to get my twilight. I’ll never spend another dime on this game again. they break stuff to often with no follow up in these threads, I’ve spent more $$$ than I would in a subscription game for several years of use. I feel really ripped off by Anet now, they got me good, don’t let them get you to. It’s not worth the risk of throwing away good money to find that you might not be able to play for months at a time because they stuff up again!

Until and unless there are significant changes in the engine, which isn’t on the table, we will not be raising the cap on player skill AoE.

To give you some perspective, my 2 gpu’s cost over $1000. They are great for pve at max settings unless your at the new teq event. But full zerg WvW I need to turn all my kitten down and have crap frames when Blobs collide. Just get the best you can with what you have, and that should stop your crashing issue. Just don’t expect to much from w v w at any price you pay for hardware. This game was built for technology that was out-dated 3-4 years ago. It simply doesn’t have the capability to use the power we have today with cpu’s and gpu’s that’s are available. Anet needs to stop living in the past and take on some outside vendors help to optimize the game further for mass WvW.

I’m trying to remember why they removed the Orbs in the first place. Um, yeah that’s right, making the strongest/blobiest team stronger didn’t work. what makes them think it will work now.

For some programing wiz kid, degree wielding, data crunching so called smart guys. You truly are the stupidest bunch of half wits to gather under one roof. It’s taken you a year to wrap up the same pile of crap idea in some new shinier wrapping paper and hope we are as mindless the imbeciles who approved this. GG guys

I hope you don’t have the same team working on the Lag issues or this game is doomed. Oh that’s right you don’t have a team working on the lag issues lol.

I agree that there is a Level3 issue. but if you do a pathping instead of a tracert you will find that it’s the gw2 servers that are losing the most packets. Either way Anet doesnt give two kittens about it. They have no help to offer or any input. as long as they can say it’s someone else’s problem they wont do jack kitten.

It’s abundantly clear that Arenanet doesn’t give two kittens about it’s player base any more. The first 3 pages of the tech-support threads are full of lag issues, and not once has an Anet representative given us an assurance that they are aware or even acknowledge that there is an issue.

I can’t play WvW at all with my guild, along with many others from my guild who are having the same issues. Coming from a T1 server we take WvW very seriously, and if I can’t WvW I don’t do anything. If I don’t do anything in game, I don’t spend $$$ in-game.

The longer you take to get this kitten sorted out the longer we will remember how long it took you.

Apparently there is no issue.

We have folks constantly working to improve performance, we’ve actually made quite a few perf updates this year. You’ll see more perf updates in the upcoming releases, we have a team working entirely on performance at all times that won’t be going away any time soon.

Apparently the only thing that wont be going away soon is the lag, it looks like it’s here to stay people. By the lack of response from Anet and their so called “Performance Team” the only impact on this game they’ve managed is to increase lag more and more after every patch. GG guys, you sure are a level up over the rest if you can keep getting a pay check for failing.

Anet your really dropping the ball here, it’s about time you pull your head out of the sand and give us what ever your plan of action is out to the community, because this effing lag is completely unacceptable.

I spend a kitten load of cash on your gem store along with a lot of other people to support this game and it’s about time we see some of that put back in to the game.

At the moment this game is largely unplayable in WvW for more than 50% of the time for me at least. But according to the 100 other people in Teamspeak it pretty easy to say that this issue is out there for anyone who doesn’t have his kitten sitting on top of the servers.

I think we deserve a little more than a largely unresponsive 3 month old thread, and the plethora of unanswered daily threads created about the lag is ignorant to the highest degree on Anets part. Keep ignoring this issue will end up costing you in the long run.

Anets official response to my support ticket was to use a third party proxy service to help with the lag. I must be really stupid because so far for this F2P game, I buy gems all the time, I pay for a proxy service and apparantly get the lag free for my trouble.

So we’ve been investigating this issue and we feel that Adnul is being a little too mean. We will have a change in soon that should make him give players a bit more breathing room while still maintaining the difficulty to a degree.

Thank you all for the feedback and apologies for any frustration this has been causing you.

Arggggggg fix him already. This was driving me nuts for hours. I really wish if devs know its broken to just take the npc out until it’s fixed, I hate searching the forum to make sure it’s working as intended or not as in this case, if it seems a little to hard. some of us just keep going until you get it done.

It seems to be that balancing and changes with regards to the mesmer class are being made while completely out of touch with the reality of this game. This patch only exemplifies that more.

Good Changes

  1. The Phantasmal Berserker was fixed. This is a good change. Unfortunately, it comes 6 months too late to deserve any applause or thanks.
  2. Bounce logic was fixed. This is a good change. Unfortunately, similar to the phantasmal berserker, this is a bug fix, and deserves only minor applause and thanks.
  3. Interrupt traits were significantly boosted. Unfortunately, due to the nature of interrupts, most of these traits still aren’t strong enough to base a build around.
  4. Phantasm hp was significantly increased in PvE and slightly increased in PvP. A good change, but more on this later.
  5. Signet of illusions was fixed so that it applies immediately. A good change but again, more on this later.
  6. Shattered conditions is now aoe

That’s about it. Now for the bad changes.

  1. Blurred frenzy is now an evade. It also has a its base cooldown increased by 20%
  2. Signet of illusions passive effect reduced to 50% down from 200%
  3. Vengeful images now only applies retaliation for 5 seconds after the summon of a phantasm
  4. Illusionist’s celerity moved from 5 point minor to 25 point minor

These are abbreviated versions. There are obviously more changes that I didn’t touch upon, but these are the only changes that (in my opinion) actually make a difference.

Here is the main issue. The positive changes to our traits and skills are relatively minor or are complete bug fixes. On the other hand, the nerfs are massive. Anet is obviously spending developer and programmer time figuring out effective ways to nerf mesmers, while completely ignoring the parts of our class that are still completely broken. I will now list the largest offenders.

  1. The iMage could be replaced with a placeholder saying “This skill does nothing” and nobody would care
  2. The scepter (even after this addition of torment) is completely useless. There are 0 situations outside of a glamour build in wvw that the scepter is better than the sword, greatsword, or staff unless one ignores all functions of the scepter other than the block itself.
  3. Phantasmal haste still does not apply to 2 of our phantasms: Swordsman and mariner
  4. Illusionary elasticity still does not apply to staff clones
  5. Wastrel’s punishment is still useless
  6. Mantras are still extremely underwhelming with underwhelming and poorly designed traits
  7. Due to the nature of interrupts, the interrupt traits are still of very limited use

These are a lot of massive problems. However, instead of fixing these problems, Anet decides to hand out significant nerfs. The nerf to signet of illusions, in my opinion, is reasonable, but that’s pretty much it. Blurred frenzy is nerfed twice, once in evade and once in cooldown. Vengeful images is, for all intents and purposes, no longer a trait. Lastly, Illusionist’s Celerity is moved from 5 point minor to 25 point minor, nerfing every single build that is not shatter.

And as if all that weren’t enough, these changes are made in the name of build diversity. Anet is telling us “These changes are actually good for your class. We are doing this to help you.”

Build diversity eh? These changes make a tank build very difficult to play effectively now. They vastly remove potential diversity from both PvE and PvP phantasm builds. They significantly nerf the already very weak condition builds that mesmers have. Across the board, all non-shatter builds that mesmers have are negatively impacted, most in very significant ways.

The small buffs that they gave us are insignificant. Shattered conditions is nice, but with the other changes, it’s now much more difficult to use it effectively. The interrupt traits are nice, but when you couple that with the other changes they just become another shatter variant. Bounce logic was fixed, but builds that rely on that (conditions) are even weaker now.

On top of all this, the phantasm builds that were stupidly overpowered in a 1v1 are still stupidly overpowered in a 1v1. A small cooldown nerf won’t change that. People are still going to get facerolled by any competent phantasm build player and they’ll just cry for more nerfs.

Summary
These changes accomplished nothing positive for the mesmer class. The fact that they were made in the name of build diversity is insulting to every intelligent mesmer player. These changes, far from providing build diversity and flexibility, have significantly lowered the diversity of the mesmer class and restricted the flexibility our builds have. This is far and away the most devastating and most ill-conceived patch since this game was first released.

It’s a sure sign that free transfers to lower population servers is an attempt to relive sever strain, it’s not an answer to this problem, but it’s a safe bet that Arenanet’s network infrastructure is unable to handle the current WvW population in tier 1.

With the addition of the rank system that will only further encourage large zerg style play to amass rank score in as fast away as possible. rather than gain points in a strategic fashion will do nothing but further the issue

I’m in one of the largest SOR WvW guilds and server transfers is not an option. we’ve been on SOR since beta and moving would never happen, and should not be deemed a solution to server skill lag

Culling fix is great, but your development team lacks the insight to create basic UI options such as, not show npc names, ambient creatures and moa’s ets. since when is every rabbit and moa on the map an enemy? yet if I want to find a loot bag I have to push a button to bring up the name. I don’t care what titles enemy invaders have! They have the choice to show them I want the choice to turn it off.

Where is the option to show guild names only? or how about Squad member Names? Come on guys your smart we know that you made a great game, but it appears none of your development team have an ounce of common sense.

It looks like you took the culling fix right out of the Aion fix for W v W culling. Did you guys miss their UI options to change the size of name plates? colours etc.

Skill Lag in WvW: Game Breaking?

In the hope of getting a definitive answer from Arenanet on this issue, could we please keep this topic relevant to WvW Skill lag and not just lag in it’s general shapes and forms in other areas of the game, or latest patch lag.

We don’t need to hear that you don’t have skill lag or that this latest patch wasn’t meant to address the skill lag issue, although I think many of us thought that as a by-product things might get a little better with the ability to play around with wvw settings, but alas it’s still auto attack ftw.

The fact of the matter is the problem exists for the majority of WvW users in large scale fights, and there has been nothing done about this mounting issue for some time.

At this point there is little to no enjoyment playing W V W in large groups, and unfortunately Tier 1 WvW = LARGE groups. WvW motivation is all about reaching the top, but when things deteriorate the better you get what’s the point of progressing.

I have a high end computer well and truly above maximum recommended specs. I run GW2 on i7 3960x 6 core with 2 Asus GTX 680 4gig gpu’s SLI, on a Asus Rampage iV – formular motherboard with 32gig of ram.

I can run most any game on maxim setting, yet on GW2 I get skill lag on best performance settings set from within the gw2 UI. My internet connection is a 15 mb link+ which means the issue is at the skill server end of the game.

Unfortunately I cant kill the enemy with mere sight alone. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining about being able to see the enemy, but unfortunately in a staring competition this generally means the best auto attack wins in most cases.

Is this game breaking for you?

I’ve got very bad lag in pvp, 30 second skill lag. never had a problem in the past, but it’s unplayable today. I’ve got the same issue on several pc’s in the house.

No other online games have an isse. it appears to be patch related to gw2 only

Siren Sounds

This happend to me for the first time the other day in a fractal, then today in WvW. It resembles an Air Raid Siren SOUND. Very anoying, very loud and actually quiet painfull to the ear. It only comes through on my left side of my headset, the remainder of the game sounds still come through on the right.

The only way to fix it whilest staying in game is to mute gw2 from your system audio settings and mute gw2 application it’s self, which is what you need to do while in a fractal as you can’t rejoin your group still, so you cant restart the gw2 client which is the other tempory fix.

I know of 4-5 other guild members that this has been happening to since the last patch/fix lol.

Anet Design team: shhhh, “ok guys group huddle. Lets do a ninja / fix on world drops, bag drops, event drops, mob drops, bob drops, and if any seagulls are dropping anything of value, hmm hmm, we want that ninja / fixed too.

Come to think of it give the salvage tools a’ hmm hmm, ninja /fix while your at it, I heard some entrepreneur’s were making some gold salvaging dungeon token loot too.

Hehe that should cover any income with out buying it from the gem store.

I think someone put a Minus instead of a plus on their magic find code lol. I killed 25 mobs straight in cursedshore to get the full luck bonus and didn’t get 1 item to drop. noting, not even a crap stained rag after 25 mobs. Would be nice if a content designer could show the common courtesy to let us know if they are even looking in to this. Six pages. WTKitten
