I find it hard to believe that you would ever be considered for Snaff Savant with such lax academic standards. One might be forgiven for thinking that you and the obnoxious Charr who thinks he’s clever enough to provoke us are working on cahoots. You’re not working with said Charr, are you? I would hate to find out that you’re chastising my krewe for having a Charr on it while working with one of your own…

Nope. I put it up on the Engineer forum and it was taken down by a forum mod who said that while they did want to hear about feedback, positive and negative, that wasn’t the place for the post. Then a post went up asking that all feedback about class mechanics be directed to the bugs forum. So, since this mechanic is broken, it needs to be here.

And I’m saying that you’re wrong. Not only isn’t it appropriate from a physiological stance, it is also culturally wrong for the Charr. There aren’t any reasons for the Charr to make differentiated armor for males and females, which allows them to mass produce their armor because one type fits all. Limited/no dimorphism means that customizations aren’t required. That suits a military-minded race perfectly.

Simply put, there’s nothing for you to make look different, because physically there are no differences to accentuate/compensate for. Respectfully, for the Charr at least, you’re completely off-base.

Oh, and I did understand what you meant, you like that the female Charr armors aren’t feminine and instead of a design overhaul, you’re rather they add more armor so the people who want their cat ladies running around in chainmail bikinis with skirts can, while you keep your option of having normal gender neutral armor.

You might want to visit Animal Lover’s Boutique (<- “You Don’t Know Jack” reference) if you’re looking for a bikini for a cat. Personally, that’s something I hope I NEVER see in GW2. I don’t need chainmail bikini’s to make the Charr complete.

Honestly, there are several female Charr that demonstrates being strong female presences in-game, and to add chainmail bikinis for them would be doing the Charr a disservice. One is a female in the crafting area bar in Black Citadel who tells a drunk male to back off and she isn’t interested, eventually having to threaten him with her sword. The other is one of the Ashford Fields SPs, where you fight her and she tells you “There, you learned something. Now go away.” I don’t feel she would be improved by adding chainmail bikinis.

Overall, I don’t see them as a wonderful expansion of the game world. I see them as cheapening and pandering to prepubescent children and adults clinging to being prepubescent children (perverts). The devs have taken the step of creating a unique and interesting gender-equal race. That’s more than enough. Hell, in this atmosphere of objectification of women that pervades the industry as a whole, the fact that a company created females in a game that don’t look like sex objects is not only laudable, but cause of celebration.

I think the Asura primarily use spiders. Could be wrong. I want to get another copy of the game just to make a ranger of every race. Rangers are fun. Engi’s are a lot of fun, too.

Well I think you have it pretty well, but we should mention that the gorilla can also shapeshift into an even larger half bear creature.

Except it isn’t a puma. It’s a tiger. And that fight isn’t quite as unbalanced. Plus, the tiger already is a match for the bear, too.

Dustfinger continues to fail to cite his sources, but has asked for others to cite theirs. So long as he remains hyperbolic and rhetorical, there’s no point in not doing the same. This argument is verging quickly on being pointless without them.

Charr are larger than Norn. They’re stronger than Norn. They’re born and bred for battle. Norn are born to hunt. There’s a difference. I’ll take a Charr every time. When my back’s to the wall, I’ll take a Charr at my side over a Norn. The only creature I’d take over a Charr would be a Kodan. But of the playable races, Charr. Every time. I don’t know where people are getting that Norn are bigger and stronger than Charr. The lore clearly contradicts that. Charr are the fiercest creatures playable.
