You did what you should have done. You reported and blocked the person making the offensive comments. Having done this, you must now rely on others to also report and block this individual making offensive comments in chat; the more reports there are, the more likely punishment will be placed on them for their actions. Whether the person learns from this punishment and no longer makes such comments in chat is something we can only hope that they will take away from this situation.
Regarding your forum thread, it is actually against forum rules to name a player’s account name on the forums and all this will get you is possibly an infraction for breaking this rule. I recommend you remove the player’s name from your post.
But that is what we’ve always been doing…using stones/crystals to apply a new look to our existing armors. Nothing is changing in that regard other than consolidating stones and crystals into a single item, plus you do not need to destroy an item to apply its appearance to another item. This is much better in every possible way over how it was.
I’ve added this issue to the Tracker: Reported Bugs and Their Status [collaborative effort by players] sticky thread and linked to this thread. Hopefully it will be addressed soon by a dev.

Functionality (Hover on INFO for issue description)
- Controls – Multi-Key Binds Involving Skill #6 Broken
| INFO | Report Thread |Does this accurately describe the issue or should more info be added to the description?
No. The issue is overlapping functions being called when any key bind is a MOUSE button along with CTRL, SHIFT. Although I stated my heal was overlapping my elite is too since it is also a MOUSE button along with CTRL.
I rebound the same things to SHIFT + MOUSE and still had the same issue. It appears it is related to MOUSE binds as CTRL + a key (example 2) works correctly without overlapping on the 2.
Sorry, I totally misunderstood the issue as I skimmed through.
Does this more accurately describe this issue?
“When a multi-key keybind function involves a mouse button that also has a single keybind function, activating the multi-key function activates both the single key function and the multi-key function”
I had this issue a very long time ago and was required to file a support ticket to get it resolved as it only affects some people. Some have just waited it out and after a week or so it was back to working, but I suggest filing a support ticket as it may actually help with getting your TP working again quicker.
I’ve had this happen several times over the past few months, but it has only ever really lasted while I continued to hold the forward movement key. Even after releasing the forward movement key I would remain angled to the terrain for about 2 seconds afterward and I would then suddenly ‘snap’ upright to a natural position. I think it may also be related to the issue of our characters initiating the forward movement but getting stuck in the first step of the animation (linked). Only way to get out of the stuck pose is to release the forward movement key and then attempt to move forward again. I also think these issues may be related to a form of lag.

When I first saw their announcement on my FB this past Wednesday (July 3rd), they had 913,xxx likes. I just checked (July 7th) and they are at 933,206. That’s roughly 20,000 new likes in 4 days. They should hit 1 million before the end of the month.
Just wait until diminishing returns kicks in.
A problem with their gauging interest in this new direction on the number of sales of this item is that the tool does not state this additional functionality in the description of the watchwork pick in the gem store. The only ways for a person to know of this change prior to purchase is by reading the actual information release page on the tool or by word of mouth from others who have read it or had purchased and discovered this additional functionality and shared this with them. If they are intending to base future offerings on the purchase volume of this pick with additional functionality, then their metrics will be void due to players mainly being unaware of the additional functionality prior to purchasing it. Unless the lack of noting the additional functionality on the item in the gem store was intentional or a mistake, the metrics will not be a reliable source for them to base future offerings on.

I know a lot of people use AutoHotKey and run a script that binds the right mouse button into a toggle so you don’t have to constantly hold it down to mouse steer.
Some use it due to physical limitations of their person (missing digits, crippling arthritis, etc), some use it due to having an unreliable/failing right mouse button due to having to hold it down almost the entire time they play, and there are others that use it simply to not stress their hands out or develop stress issues in their hands from maintaining the mouse button down.
This is one .ahk file many use that binds your middle-mouse click to enable it. A single click activates mouse steer and another single click (or just clicking your actual right mouse button) will disable it.
This is useful so you can disable it quickly to interact with dialogue boxes or your UI and then re-enable it when you want to mouse steer again.
It is only functional when GW2 is the active window so even if you enable it while in-game and then go to another app or your Windows desktop then your mouse will function normally there. Return to the game and it will still be in the state you left it at; activated or deactivated.
Think of it as similar to your autorun key where hitting that allows you to release your forward motion key and remain in forward motion until you hit it again. Instead, you are hitting your mouselook key so your mouse steering remains active until you hit it again.
Copy this and paste it into a new .txt file and rename it to be .ahk instead of .txt.

If state1 = U
{
Send {RButton Down}
MouseLook = 1
}
else

Send {RButton Up}

}
Return
The “MButton::” part is the designated activation key (middle mouse button). I’m sure you can edit that to another key if you prefer, but clicking the middle mouse button is very handy for quick activation/deactivation.
Just need to download and install AHK and then run this .ahk file when you play GW2 to no longer have to hold the mouse button down to steer.

Gem Store Armor Design Element Toggles
Any thoughts on this proposal or how to improve it in a way that can make all players happy and still be possible to be considered by Anet as a possible resolution to this situation?
Hi Gaile and other forum mods.
First, would you please make this thread sticky.
Second, botters tend to blink in at waypoints frequently, so it’s easy to catch their names when they show up there for the split second and manually type their name into your contacts list. I have several dozen that I’ve caught that way and reported them. It’s nice seeing half of my contacts list (which I only use for marking botters) as never being online anymore. Great job
Though bots have now started to spawn dead at waypoints, like they drop into the waypoint, die, then teleport somewhere else.
Also, I have several dozen botters on my list that fall into the TP botting category, but they teleport like bots, just not from ore node to ore node (though they still do this). These bots are spawning en masse, stacked on eachother on Repair NPCs (as I’ve mentioned they like to do before). These bots also then teleport to a Repair NPC in a different location in the zone, and sometimes a whole different zone altogether. (bypassing waypoints, as they spawn on the Repair NPC).
Case in point.
Server: Eredon Terrace
Zone: Queensdale
Spawning on the Repair NPC located at the Trading Post in the Village of Shaemoor are dozens of bots, most from the same guild and follow the same name formatting. Tracking these bots and standing there watching them with them in my contacts list, they proceed to disappear. They then instantly show up in Caudecus’ Manor on the Repair NPC there. A few minutes later they once again spawn on the Repair NPC at the Trading Post in the Village of Shaemoor…completely bypassing all waypoints, so it’s obvious that they are bots.
I have video and screenshots of them spawning on the Repair NPC, disappearing from Village of Shaemoor and appearing in Caudecus’ Manor in my contact list, then spawning again on the Repair NPC in the Village of Shaemoor. As well as in reverse, of them being at Caudecus’ Manor and going to the Village of Shaemoor and back. I also have all the names I’ve managed to catch.
Also, it would be nice if names stacked up on eachother like in GW1 when you hovered over a group of people, this way it would be easier to select individual people that are stacked on eachother.
Knowing this behavior should help you with catching them.
What would you like me to do from here with what I have?
(edited by StinVec.3621)
All suggestion posts should be made in the sub-forum that most appropriately reflects the area the suggestion is for.
If it is something with the TP or Gem Store then it would go in the BLTC sub-forum.
Dungeon related? Dungeon sub-forum.
PvP? = PvP
WvW? = WvW
etc.
If you cannot determine what the best forum would be for it then make it in the General GW2 Discussion forum. If it would be better fit elsewhere after you make it then it can be moved to the more appropriate sub-forum later.
Also, it may be a good idea to title your suggestion thread like this:
[Suggestion] Remove Armor Weight Restrictions
If you need more space for your title then shorten [Suggestion] down to [Sug] or [Idea].
KK thx, didn’t see that one right under the nose XD.
No worries. Stickies are commonly missed in any forum.
It has happened several times in the past and it is sure to happen several more times in the future. Not much can be done to prevent it from happening to whomever they choose to target.
I have tickets to buy them from the trader and gold to snag from the TP, but I will not be.
I like the design of several of them (greatsword, bows), but I’m tired of them throwing orange/red flames on everything.
Had the flames been purple, or green, or (here’s an idea) dyeable…maybe then.
And it doesn’t help that every item they release with flames on it has completely different flame appearance and effects and flame behavior. You cannot even throw all your flame armor and weapons on since all of the flames are different. Total lack of vision and sense of consistency by the designers.
These are the only in-game options for reporting. Others would need to be filed through support ticket with screenshots of character names, ‘account.1234’ names, chat logs, etc. Even then it would be quite difficult to verify it was griefing versus simply playing the game in a way that was different from others, despite consensus on how it should be or was intended to be played. Honestly, I do not think much can be done unless an anet employee was in the instance and witnessed it firsthand and deemed it as griefing.
Eh..I was hoping that the ones I have bought before became account bound as well. but nope still soul bound orz.
As mentioned, un-equip your currently soulbound infinite tools into your inventory and then talk to the Black Lion Weapons Specialist next to most Trading Post agents. You will receive the ability to exchange it for the account bound version. This ability has been available for many months.
Does anyone have it? Can it be dyed?
I was going to complain, but it looks so good (IMO) on asura and norn. I think I need it!
As it is an outfit, it only has 4 total dye slots for the entire appearance. This means that one slot changes the color of several areas that the creators designate, so you have to rely on their choice of design elements that are linked to each slot and cannot color each element of the outfit individually like you can with (most) armor.
This dyeing restriction is part of the reason why I do not feel 1,000 gems is a justifiable price for an outfit. Even if if looks different on every race and gender, it’s still an outfit and has all of the downsides of an outfit. 800 gems is the maximum that I feel is reasonable for any outfit.

I actually feel remorse if I accidentally kill the wandering duo while fending off the hungry bears. I have never intentionally killed either of them. It also gets to me if I see one without the other (usually Raccoon waiting for Owl). To see it there, alone, waiting and wondering if their friend will return to them. It reminds me of that story from some years ago of a dog that would be let outside and it would go to where this cat was waiting for it. Like old buddies. They would then go walking around together in silence, like old war buddies just needing that company of someone who understands, but does not need to say a word.
May want to place your feedback on the armor in the thread dedicated to it.

Ah. I’m on Eredon Terrace and it worked fine when I was there recently, perhaps it is bugged on your server. I hope they eventually get around to fixing it. Last time it was busted on my server it took 4 months to get it working again…4 months of many people not being able to get zone completion on multiple characters. They should just remove it and move the vista or let people go up some stairs to the top.
I admit, I squee’ed the same as everyone else when I saw one.
Am I the only one that had the “babyback ribs” song pop in their head right away though?

Ah, I never actually clicked on the items. Never really occured to me to try it, nor was their any indication telling me to do that (That I saw anyways). So this was indeed my own ignorance. Thank you for the help. It worked.
No problem. I remember trying to figure it out when I first tried to use one. There is no guidance or explanation on it, so I completely understand.
Keep in mind, that the final product retains the level requirement of the stats you select. So in this above case, were you to select the stats of the level 80 item, the end product would be a level 80, if you selected the stats of the level 70 item then the end product would be level 70. This is especially important if you want the appearance of a level 80 item on, say, your level 20 character. You would select the appearance of the 80 item and the stats of the 20 item you plan to use, this way your character can actually use it as the end product would be level 20.
Also take note, if you try to include the rune (or a sigil) of the higher level item in the transmute window, then the end product must meet the level requirements for the rune. So if you have a level 20 armor item, and you’re trying to grab the appearance of a level 80 armor item that also has a superior rune on it, then you cannot include the rune in the end product as Superior runes require a level 60 armor item.
I hope you don’t run into any more issues now that you know the mechanics of transmuting. But if you do, don’t hesitate to ask for a hand again
I really love the appearance of the Asura Cultural Tier 3 Medium Helm (Prototype Armor), but I feel the attachments on the helm being forced to be visible really limits the viability of the helm across many appearance preferences.
Chat Link: [&AgEjDgAA]
I’ve edited out the optics attachments in these photos to show how great it could look without them.
This option can also be added to many of the cultural armor items where there are additional elements in the design that are not necessary and only limit the interest in, and viability of, the items. These ‘extra detail’ elements are a design choice of the creator, but they really restrict the potential appearances players may desire for their characters. Limiting player interest in the items due to their excess bits clashing with the desired appearance of a character, certainly decreases the variations of available appearances. If players could choose to hide the excess artistic elements of cultural gear then these expensive, cultural appearances would offer more viable options for a wider array of character appearances.
I feel that Tier 3 Cultural Armor should be more special than ordinary armor, just as Legendary Weapons have special appearance attributes over ordinary weapons.
Ideally, I request it to be where each item can have an alternate form by disabling the excessive artistic detail on the item through a show/hide checkbox, though an alternate pattern or reversing of the item on the body would be alternate options for some pieces (single shoulder armor on left or right, T3 human female chest flipped – underboob on right instead of left and skirt on left instead of right, etc).

I’m looking forward to the return of Chinese New Year’s celebration.
I’m dreading some new stupid omega-grind where we have to eat 25,000 barbeque pork buns in 2 weeks to get a new ‘fireworks effects’ shoulders…
I’m pretty concerned that there may be something just like this for this event as well.
Will be quite disappointed if there is.
They mean “clear chat” as in “remove all entered text”. It’s about emptying the content of the chatbox and not the opacity of its background.
I remember trying to /clear early on in the game and being disappointed when it returned “Invalid or unrecognized command”
Personally, I would use it frequently.

Finkle is Einhorn!! Einhorn is Finkle!! Ohhhhh Myyyyy Goddddddddddddddddd
Related to this, I ran into a player in Rata Sum named “Finkle Is Einhorn”.
I asked them if they also had “Einhorn Is Finkle” and they did!
It was awesome.

Isn’t UT based based on Greenwich time, in England?
Long post short, UTC is pretty much the same as GMT for most uses (not much different), but is a more accurate successor to GMT in how it is figured. UTC is more widely used in technical and governmental communities where slight differences in time (a few seconds) really make a difference, but has pretty much replaced GMT in most areas around the world for everyday use and reference.

It was reported some time ago after a patch as being a problem. It has still not been fixed, though I think they’re all busy fixing stuff that doesn’t work right in their last update. Hopefully it will one day get corrected to have the previous quality, or even re-implement the hi-res screenshot function without needing to take a screenshot in bmp format.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/May-19th-Screenshot-Quality
I experienced this undesired and abnormal behavior as well.
I also experienced an issue that I consider serious:
If you select an item via inventory or the TP item lists and load its buy screen, 1 out of every 4 or 5 times it will automatically select dozens of the listings that are for sale. Taking note of the current quantity box it says “1”, but if you look at the price then it shows dozens of gold as being the price all those auto-selected items will cost.
So if you quickly go to buy an item and load its item page, obviously it should default to buying only 1, especially due to it even saying “1” in the quantity box. But if you do not notice it as having auto-selected dozens of items and hit buy, then you just bought dozens (or hundreds) of gold worth of the item despite it saying you’d be buying 1. Already got me once when I first loaded up the TP after the update.
So, here’s the warning until it gets fixed: Make sure to deselect all of the auto-selected items even if the quantity box says 1, or manually select only the top listing to force there to be only 1 item selected before hitting buy. Or reload the item page and hope it does not re-select all those items again and you get an unbugged page.
Opening an item’s trading page and hitting buy should only buy 1 of that item…not dozens (or hundreds) of gold worth of the item due to it auto-selecting half of the listed items for sale while still showing you as only buying 1 of the item in the quantity box.
I’ll screenshot it later, or maybe even record a video of it.
Shadow Abyss is the darkest you can really get. And even with Shadow Abyss it results in just a slightly darker grey than the ones you have already tested. It’s how they made the legs themselves that prevent colors from being as dark or rich as they should be. It has been like that for over 3 years, so I do not expect it will ever be changed to dye properly, sadly.
I’m a bit confused as to how this is going to work now – if we purchased a commander tag right now (for 100g), do we get the four colours after the patch comes in?
Regardless, it’s good news that the 300g per colour plan was revised!
Unlock the blue commander tag on a single character right now for 100g (plus 250 badges of honor) and after 9-9 when the feature pack is implemented all current and future characters on your entire account will have access to using the commander function, along with the additional colors. Wait to purchase it until after 9-9 and it will instead cost 300g. It is recommended that you unlock it now while it is still at 100g even if you will not have need for the commander feature immediately so you save 200g over waiting until a future date (after 9-9) to purchase it.

You can also temporarily re-bind your mouse scroll wheel as being “Mouse 1” and then just scroll your mouse wheel to consume them all in seconds.
Hmmm hang on. Where in the options can you re-bind mouse scroll wheel to Mouse 1? I dun see any variable that allows that in Control Options.
Does this work on karma and scroll of knowledges?
It isn’t an available option in-game. You would need to do it locally through Windows or another program for custom keymapping. If you have a Razer or Logitech gaming mouse then it should be easy to accomplish in those programs also.
Most people use http://www.autohotkey.com and run a script that binds the mouse wheel to left click.
This generic script (attached), when running, makes clicking your mouse scroll wheel in activate the scroll down as being left click only when GW2 is the active window. I didn’t add a disable key into it, so just close the program from your taskbar when you are done using it to return normal scroll wheel functionality.
So:
Since one click on your scroll wheel is one click of the left mouse button, there is no issue of breaking the rules set forth by ArenaNet as one key is still performing a single action, you are just changing which key is causing that action from the left mouse button to the scroll down button.

The blade hue is different because of the ambient lighting in the game world and the fact that the Preview and Hero Panel windows have a set ‘base’ for lighting that is separate from the game world.
The result is lighting on armor and weapons in the world will be different than seen in the preview/HP windows. Many areas of the world may permit the weapon to be seen as it is shown in those windows, but you would need to find areas of the world with similar lighting to that used in those windows.
I sometimes like the effect ambient lighting of the world has on my armor and weapons, though I also find many times that it completely ruins the appearance of my character by causing dyes on certain armor pieces to appear differently than I’d like.
Not much that can be done about, sadly. My method of compensating for the ambient lighting issues was to opt to have different armor sets and weapons depending on the zone I am in. This allowed for an appearance that is affected positively by the lighting of the zone instead of negatively. Not ideal for everyone, but it’s adds a bit of fun to my travels, as if I am actually gearing for my journey through the zone.
Indeed, it does seem to have been altered to be more of a flail than a mace. Seems like an intentional and undocumented change to the skin’s aesthetics and physics. There are 21 of them on the TP ranging from 58g to 94g (and one at 150g)…I foresee the supply decreasing soon so it might be a good idea to buy them now before people discover this awesome change and the supply drops and prices rise.
I’m guessing he hit the forum bug.
Sure enough.
Oh, sweet coincidence, you are a cunning one.

I am confused because the OP said the owl was just ambient, but I saw no owl walking along with the raccoon. Can a dev please tell us why it was necessary for the owl to be removed? It’s just something that made me smile, and now the raccoon is going to be lonely.
Owl is still there. They still follow their routine of walking in silence around the lake together, it’s just that they are both classified as ambient (white) now instead of only Raccoon being ambient and Owl being neutral (yellow). If you see one without the other, then someone likely slaughtered one and it has yet to ‘respawn’. Usually one will complete its circuit and then it will wait for the other to ‘return’ before venturing on their journey again.
I got it but it would be better if it was setup in the wardrobe like the glider and they setup a hotkey to turn it on/off instead of taking over the weapons slots. It should automatically turn off during combat but overtaking the weapons slot is annoying. Honestly it’ll probably be like the flying carpet I bought. I’ll play with it a bit then shove it in my bank. Even the glider needs a hotkey because there is time when it gets in the way.
I bought it, but was sorely unimpressed with the(lack of) animation. It feels almost unfinished to me. Very wooden, almost like it started loading and then froze halfway through.
My feelings are essentially identical to those expressed in these two statements.
I was comfortable with the cost for what it offers, but I would not have purchased it if the price was more. I was glad to see that it wasn’t priced higher than previously offered travel toys simply because it is a new shiny with effects.
One dislike I have for all travel toys is that the newly offered ‘auto-reactivation’ skills are not reversed. I feel that the #2 skill that brings back your weapon skills should instead be the #1 skill. If I am approaching an enemy then I first need to hit #2 so I can then attack with my #1 ‘auto attack’ skill instead of simply pressing #1 twice quickly.
Sometimes I will kill an enemy and head over toward another enemy some distance away and just as I am about to attack it with my #1 AA skill…the toy ‘auto-reactivates’ and instead of attacking I end up completely disabling the toy. So after that fight I then need to manually reactivate it from inventory again. It’s quite annoying to me.
If the #1 and #2 were reversed then my repeatedly pressing my #1 skill to initiate an attack would first bring my weapon skills back for use, and the 2nd press would begin attacking.
As they are now, I need to consciously begin each fight with my #2 skill to bring up my weapon skills before I attack with my #1 skill. That and I need to instead begin successive fights my #2 weapon skill just in case the toy reactivates just before I begin attacking another enemy to avoid disabling the toy completely…which is not preferable to me for most weapons on most professions.
Maybe it’s just me that is annoyed by this design which interrupts my encounters with enemies and makes the item a nuisance that leads me to use the toy less and not be that interested in buying others. :\
(edited by StinVec.3621)
I noticed this a long, long time ago.
I submitted it as an environment bug.
It has never been corrected. :\
__
I’ve also submitted many others like it, and even some where the ground is missing or where the end of a bridge is floating above the ground where it should connect. All of these other ones I’ve reported have never been corrected either. :\
My view on this is, as they obviously do not care, I will not either as it seems to be just a waste of time reporting them. This is why I’ve stopped reporting these type of environmental/structural bugs/oversights until at least one that I’ve already reported over the last few years is corrected.
I realize that this specific one would likely entail a few minutes of work to correct, but I am disappointed that other, far simpler ones are not corrected when it would take nothing more than a few seconds to simply tug the node of the terrain a touch to close the opening.
As an example, check out: Caledon Forest > Kraitbane Haven Waypoint [&BEABAAA=] (Treemarch Estuary) > East a touch at the end of the second bridge
Yes, it is a very, very minor one. However, even the bigger ones I’ve submitted have not been corrected. So it doesn’t seem to matter if it is a bigger one or a quick and easy one that only takes a couple of seconds to fix, they are not being corrected.
Oh well. Maybe someday.
The restrictions were datamined by the almighty that_shaman long ago.
Only one or two character slots
Limit of level 15
Seems like a limit on how high a “rank” you can get (specific to trial or possibly PvP related)
Only able to send mail to friends.
Can’t send items or gold through mail
Can’t speak in map chat
Can’t access Team Arenas
Can’t access main WvW maps (EB and Borderlands)
Can’t sell items on TP.
Outdated info that has been posted by many others before you. Please read the thread thoroughly.
Quite disappointing, but not surprising. It seems to go right along with some other re-used and confusion-causing names they seem to pick without giving any real thought to it; e.g. Berserker stat set, Berserker warrior elite specialization. :\
Also AoE-looting with F still just loots one item per keypress if the items are next to you so you still have to either press F 10 times or just assign AoE-loot to a different key and use that always.
wait what? I thought AoE looting grabbed EVERTHING in range of the AoE? Unless you have the option to loot all items turned off…I’m confused.
Having AoE Looting enabled, but still bound to your Interact Key (default: F), does grab everything as long as there is no active interact box on your screen. Pressing it with an interact box on your screen will only interact with what is on your screen that is presenting the box and not AoE loot. Once the interact dialogue box is off your screen, pressing your Interact key would AoE loot.
It is recommended to actually bind a key for the AoE Loot function so even if there is an interact dialogue box on the screen, pressing the AoE Loot key will only AoE Loot regardless of the interact dialogue box and it will not interact with whatever is presenting the dialogue box unless it is nearby loot that is causing the interact dialogue box to display (aoe looting would cause the interact box to disappear then as there is no loot to interact with due to having been aoe looted).

This issue had been reported by others since the change to targeting was made last month.
Reported Functionality Issues (Hover on INFO for issue description)
Pulled from the Tracker: Reported Bugs and Their Status [collaborative effort by players] sticky thread.
Character select screen makes me sad because of how nice it was in GW1 and how awesome it could be in GW2.
:(
^^see? sad face
The only times I’ve seen this same issue happen before with other skills to where it appeared to have been unlocked but was non-functional, was that there was still one more kill needed to unlock the skill despite it appearing to be fully highlighted as if it were unlocked.
Try to do one more kill with that weapon in each of the attunements to see if the #5 skill unlocks on them.
I’ve tried the /clientport 80 solution, although I haven’t tried port 443. Between this post and the error code 7:11:3:189:101, I’ve seen surprisingly little solution to the issue. Thanks for the idea, I’ll give port 443 a whirl and see.
Additionally, across all the posts I’ve found on the issue, the only post that offers any real hint at a solution is seiffer.4971’s cryptic message “Adding -repair to the target destination under properties on the exe fixed this for me.”
Obviously this involves editing the .exe file, but if anyone can give a more accurate process on how to do this, I would gladly test this solution.
That would be the task of repairing the client if there is anything that needs repairing.
Check the game for errors and repair it
Random NPC in Lions Arch: “By Ogden’s Hammer, what savings!”
I laughed so hard when I first heard that NPC say that. I then quit the game and watched Galaxy Quest again.
That is not how you do business successfully.
I’d like to point out that the desires of one customer doesn’t reflect your entire customer base.
True. But how about 100 customers? 1000? Several thousand?
At what point do “the desires” of customers mean something when looking at your current business model?
If your comment is meant to imply that what I would have done is not what many others would have done, then consider this: My 40k gem purchase is equivalent to 40 other players buying 1k gems. From what I’ve seen, and the impression I get from others that are vocal on the forums, my 40k purchase would have been weak in comparison to what they would have spent had Anet gone the straight to Gem Store route, instead of the way they chose to implement the new skins.
So my 40k gem purchase from one person is equivalent to 40 people buying 1k gems…there are many more people who would have bought multiple times what I stated I would have…even into the 100’s of thousands. Dropping $200 on gems, 400 euros on gems… my measly 40k is nothing compared to the sales they just stopped themselves from making.
Yeah, it makes me sad, and very disappointed.
Removed what I said. Sorry, I was wrong. It is a one time allotment. I hope the Chalice gets reinstated to grant Rank Points prior to the 15th so players wanting them for the Transmutation Charges granted per Rank will get them. I’m sure 5k rank points would help bump some players into the next rank for an additional charge.

Keep an eye on the world event UI, which will let you know when Mordremoth is launching its assault.
Thread was made before the news article, which someone posted a link to few mins ago
Except there’s no time stamp on the news article so people like me wouldn’t know which came first the chicken or the egg.
:) I’d just like to point out that the “chicken or the egg” paradox was solved back when evolution came on the scene. The egg came first, which hatches into a chicken as we know it today. The creature that laid the egg was not a chicken (genetically speaking) and that creature became extinct when the species of chicken (with the genetic mutations of the chicken that we know today) became dominant. The previous creature died out.
On Topic: I’m looking forward to whatever it is that is coming to the game. It has been far too long since something happened in the game to lure me out of the city and away from the TP NPC.
