(Sugg) A Toy Wardrobe plz!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Tiger Ashante.1792

I got so many toys/tonics etc laying in my bank and would get more if we had a wardrobe for them. But the main reason i would like to have one is for the ease of access to those toys for all my chars.

Having it account bound is great but it’s very inconvenient having to remember to put the toys in the bank and switching chars all the time to grab them. Even worse if you forget to store it, remembering which char has it. I don’t have as many chars as some ppl do i’m sure, but 9 is more than enough to make it a nuisance.

Please support this if u think it’s a good idea, thanks.

Why the unrelenting pressure to do JPs?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Tiger Ashante.1792

Why? It has been a steadily mounting pressure.

I would guess that at least half of the ones done as dailies are not actually even done.. or more, since people will portal to get them. Your metrics on how many complete them will be so skewed they are meaningless.

Why is it so important to Anet that we do these things? What happened to play “our” way?

Why do you feel you have to herd us around like a pack of Pre Schoolers?

I’m honestly curious. And yes, I’m fine with not getting a Daily JP done, or anything related to a JP done. I’ve managed 3 years here and done 4 puzzles.. 3 by porting, 1 by paying my son to do it.

I’d just like to know why it is so important to push platforming as “normal” game play and why it is not considered an activity and put in that category.

I know what u mean OP, i decided to do the collection for the new legendary shortbow, heard it had a fun collection/story etc. omg 90% of it was JP’s all the way to making the precursor. It was annoying, boring and mindless a potential for great story lost. The only redeeming factor in all of that, was that i got those cute tiger cubs, but i’d never do it again.

And yes, i agree with u OP, Jp’s and various jumping games are being shoved and forced upon us in every aspect of the game now. I totally resent being forced to have to do all them kittened adventures to complete my HoT masteries. I cannot even describe my annoyance. So i completely sympathies with you and agree, that gw2 is done a 180 turn once again in allowing us to “play how we want” and it’s getting worse every time they add a piece of content.

I don’t really understand the complaints. I, honestly, think there is yet more work needed on the visual clutter side of things in combat. I’m tired of seeing nothing but skill effects when I need to be able to see enemy attack animations.

This community is weird. Since launch of the game, all i’ve heard is complaints about too many spell effects and begging Anet to reduce them. Now that they actually listened to the community and are trying to reduce them, all i hear is complaints for doing so. Seriously people, how can Anet possibly please you?

I do agree however, that slider would have been better received and I’m sure would have pleased everyone? Maybe there are tech limitations in making a slider, i don’t know but it may have calmed everyone down if Anet at least explained it to us one way or the other.

Tiger Ashante.1792

I’m a bit disappointed this mastery line (specifically Pact Commander) wasn’t made available to all accounts that have purchased the base game, especially since this mastery can only be achieved in the base game. What I see from this, is despite buying base game, ur being excluded from base game progression unless u buy HoT.

I would really like Anet to change this and allow non HoT gw2 owners at least get this mastery. After all, every one of us that have finished the Personal Story ARE Pact Commanders and deserve this mastery. C’mon Anet do the right thing!

I miss my girls from gw1…all of them. I wish i could have had them imported into this game….skills and armor included! That’s not all of them, I had 12 in gw1 lol.
I miss my Mesmer’s Obsidian Armor although in the image here I got her wearing a skirt from a different Elite set, as I had multiple Elite sets for all the girls and like to mix and match them. All the Armor sets were so well designed with very few to no clippings and you could perfectly mix and match them.
I love the Paragon Oby Armor too. I had enough to get most of the girls Oby Armor but didn’t really like much the other sets. The Mesmer and Paragon being my 2 favorites and so that’s what I got. And my Assassin was oh so cool with her Chaos Gloves!
I don’t know maybe I will get to love my girls in gw2 as well…eventually but at this stage I just don’t feel the same attachment to them as I did to these from gw1.

1) Elementalist
2)Ranger
3)Assassin
4)Mesmer
5)Necromancer
6)Dervish
7)Ritualist
8)Paragon

Suggestion: Option to Lock items

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Tiger Ashante.1792

Tiger Ashante.1792

I would like to make a simple suggestion to let us lock items we don’t want to loose by, salvaging, selling, auto depositing, or even destroying by mistake.

Not sure how simple or hard this may be to implement, but you make a small locket available on all icons, just like the one u see on unlocked bank tabs or unlocked bag slots but ofc much smaller. By default the little locket would appear unlocked with the little latch sprang open and when u lock an item it would appear locked.

The lock/unlock is done by a default key bind for eg: Shift+L. You simply left click on the item to select it, then first use of Shift+ L locks the item, 2nd use unlocks it. This locking can be done even in the merchant’s interface when u go to sell items. Sometimes you may miss locking something important and see it there, you should be able to lock it in the same way just by selecting it.

The locked items always remain locked and they can be used as normal except: They cannot be sold, salvaged, merched. destroyed or auto deposited unless you unlock them first.

One of the reasons i’m suggesting this, other than those i mentioned above, is i often have come close to selling my (namely my engi’s and ele’s who don’t have a dual swap) weapons by mistake.
All my characters have invisible bags that i keep at the bottom of my inventory and store all their spare weapons, minis etc in there, always making sure there’s enough space for them. However, in case of those 2 classes, when switching from a 1H and off hand weapon to a 2H one, the off hand never gets put back into invisible bag. It always gets thrown to a first available storage slot in ur inventory and gets mixed up with rest of the stuff there.

Locking off all your valuables would prevent any concerns of selling these items or w/ever and keep them safe until u manually unlock them.

Please discuss, agree/disagree or whatever.

OP, if you are still clicking your skills like I just saw on one of your youtube vids then this would explain why you are having difficulty with the content, sure HoT is harder than vanilla GW2 but you certainly do not need a zerg to get through areas, I’m sorry but this is a learn to play issue.

I’m not sure what relevance my playstyle has to do with my thread and it saddens me that all you could say is ltp. I always find it amusing how many people come on this forum and accuse Anet of not letting them play how they want, yet some of those very people will come on here telling others how they should play. I’m fine playing the way i do. Not that it’s anyone’s business, but i do have problems with my hands due to a car accident and its the only way i can play, but tnx for your input anyway.

Today, has been a nightmare day for me, but it goes beyond today.

First off i go do invasion and 90% of the time i fight champs from end to finish and get 0 loot, not even a green bag! And this has been going on for a long while now, no matter what class i take there. Why can’t we get a reward for killing the mobs that surround the champs as well like in dragon events? Instead, unless u tag that champ and deal most dmg, the rest mobs be kitten ed, ur in bad luck.

This morning i log in and get crashes to desktop with fatal errors, then soon as i log back in i get dc again only this time to char select screen. This happened several times b4 it finally seemed to settle down.

After daily reset, i joined the invasion and was fearing disconnects but to my surprise none happened however, not loot either or just from very few champs. in some cases i hardly hit the champ and got exotic bag, other times i’m fighting them form start to finish and get nothing.

Then i got to do Frozen Maw, was there b4 the event started to a point where boss was dying, i mean 0 hp and i get dc to char select screen again just that moment. Log back in and i’m in overflow.

However, since i was in a party with a guildie, i was able to rejoin the main map but guess what? No chest! not even the guaranteed daily one or the one on the ground.

This is getting ridiculous for me now, to a point I can’t take this any more. I’ve been playing since head start and i’m not usually one to complain about lack of loot but enough is enough.

Lately, for me at least, GW2 has become a marathon race not a game i play for fun. With ascended gear crafting, if want to make it, suddenly I have to race to JP’s (which in general I dislike) to get the necessary mats, then race to do world bosses to get the necessary mats, then do dailies etc, etc. I find myself racing around like a headless chook instead of playing a game that supposed to be fun!

What is going on here? Is it only me or is anyone else feeling like gw2 has become just a racing game and one that can’t even cope with all the competitors in it?

Tone of this thread was: this fight is horrible, not hard/easy, horrible. It’s even in the title!
I never said it was too hard or easy, just horrible. I mean what are the invulnerable disco balls for? What connection or purpose do they server in the scheme of things and the story itself, other than to annoy and frustrate you? I have never seen those things before until this update.

But yea, most of this thread has turned into a competition among opportunists looking to show us how good they are and how easy it was for them, while putting down everyone who dare say anything different.

Except that your first post reeks of qq and l2p issues. Just re-read it please.

It basicly is:

“I can’t dodge.”

“I can’t kite/move.”

“I have no idea what stability is.”

“I have no idea what spawns where.”

Also mentioning Old Teq as you kind of enjoyable content… I don’t even…

I’m done with this thread, I’ll get out before I drown in whining.

You misunderstand my meaning about enjoying old tequatil, perhaps I didn’t explain myself well, but I didn’t mean he was necessarily enjoyable, what i meant is that it was a popular event and played by many people, hence enjoyed by many.

But anyway, since you’re going my explaining don’t really matter and btw, no one forced you to join this thread in the first place.

I like the outfits. Being able to wear them in combat is awesome, but my issue is that the outfit is joined to the head gear. I realise you can hide the headgear, but sometimes i want to use only helmet and not the rest, but i can’t.

So all they need to do to make them 100% better and more versatile and hence more popular, is to sell them complete, but split the head gear and have a separate slot for it, just like they had in gw1.

Tiger Ashante.1792

Was doing the final HoT story mission Hearts and Minds with a guildie, we were on the very last bit to kill Modremoth, he’s nearly dead and suddenly, the loading screen popped and we got kicked from the instance, in the very same way you get kicked from the normal pve DS map. I’ve encountered all sorts of bugs and glitches in this mission in the past, but being actually kicked form the instance like this, is the first and to be honest, rather inexcusable.

This was the very first play through for my guildie and to experience this has really shocked him. We were both upset this happened, as this is a long mission and to be kicked like this right at the end is really terrible. I have several more characters that need to finish this and i’m always reluctant doing this mission as you never know what u’ll get. One thing is certain, u can never feel assured you will finish this mission without some problem and if u do, its mostly sheer luck.

So Being 1-Shot is meant to be a Challenge?

in Queen's Jubilee

Posted by: Tiger Ashante.1792

Tiger Ashante.1792

I don’t want challenges in a video game. I come to relax and pwn everything and pretend I’m godlike. I have enough challenges in RL….

Exactly, I have back and neck injuries due to car accident that challenge me 24/7 irl. I come to gw2 to escape and have a bit of fun.

And I come to GW2 (and any other game) to find challenging and satisfying content to play. Does that make me any less of a player than you?

The great majority of this game is casual and doable by everyone who plays, and in turn is not always terribly exciting to players like me. If you want casual fun and godmode, go play the other 99% of the game. There is already oodles of content designed for your liking.

What about players like myself who look for a challenge? It’s not fair that we finally get ONE fight that takes a modicum of skill, and people start complaining like crazy to have it changed. Stop being selfish and let people who share my playstyle finally enjoy a challenging piece of content without constant cries for difficulty nerf.

An MMO will never be 100% geared towards any one person, but it’s unfair to try to shut out a certain play style unless it’s in a niche game clearly advertised as such.

Games are supposed to be about having fun…

Nothing you can accomplish in this game equates to success in real life, which is why, perhaps, people who can’t succeed at real life come here to find something they can do that others can’t, regardless of the complete absence of impact it has outside of the game.

This is a completely vitriolic thing to say. I’m relatively successful outside of this game. Doesn’t mean I can’t look for a challenge in a game as well. Don’t try to tell others what their idea of fun should be either. I actually enjoy difficulty, as do many others. Try to realize not everyone thinks like you do.

So are u saying that fractals, which btw so call HC players cried to get as well, isn’t HC and challenging enough for you? or many of the other dungeons, none of which i’ve hardly touched? Or PvP and WvW for that matter?

I’m basically unable to play 50% of the content for various reasons and Gauntlet (i thought) was for everyone to enjoy not just a handful of HC players who never seem to be satisfied anyway. When the adrenaline rush of the gauntlet is gone, you’ll be screaming for something even harder. Eventually, i see this game becoming unplayable for some 1 like me who just want to have a bit of fun in a game, not lay on my backside 90% of the time just to prove how HC i am.

It’s like i don’t exist!

Even when in a party i see everyone else but myself!

It’s really shocking to me that the game is over a year old and I can’t see my own portrait on my screen, or ability to see my own name and title!

Don’t you think it’s about time we had this in the game? It is something so basic to self identity and it should have been there since launch.

Surely, it can’t be so difficult to put this in the game since we can see portraits of other players and their names and titles, so it’s already in the game.

I would really like to see this happen like yesterday, but I haven’t heard a thing about this being in the works, has anyone else?

The Living Story is DLC, just under a different name. And just like DLC in any game you have to buy it if you want to play it.

I can see the sense in Anet offering some kind of bundle where you can buy HoT+PoF+LS 2&3 all together, but it’s highly unlikely they’re going to just give it away to everyone. I think we’re lucky they make it free for the first few months, I don’t know of any other game that does that.

I don’t frankly understand why Anet didn’t include S2 &3 into bundles with the expansions. Why aren’t they promoting the living story content outside the game? It’s good content and it should be out there on offer and not just in the game.

I really think Anet should offer another couple of bundles, one for HoT with both S2 & S3, (giving appropriately reduced price for those players who already own any of the chapters to date) and another bundle with the lot, as well as the current ones they have on offer. I think that would give people a lot more choices and also clarity what content is available for purchase. Those who choose not to get those bundles can always get S2 & S3 in game as they currently can, but they would at least be aware that content exists and they have an option to purchase it.

As it stands, I doubt many new players would even know that S2 & S3 exists until they enter the game or even what those are and when they find out in game, this is the kind of threads we get. Even with those bundles, they still may not know exactly what S2 &3 means, but that would at least prompt them to check it online and get an idea.

In fact, I think it would be a good marketing for the game imo to show new comers and those returning players absent from the game for a long time, that there’s a lot more content in the game than just the 2 expansions. Not sure if it’s too late to include these bundles now before PoF launches but I don’t see why the can’t add them a bit later, but the sooner the better. I’m sure PoF in it’s early days will still be a popular purchase and they could add that in soon after launch. If not, then maybe with the announcement of Season 4 would be a good time, not as good as above, but still pretty good I would wager.

What about this one:

“WHAT HAVEN’T I FOUND??? THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!”

lol that one gets so repetitive, I totally understand the other npc when he goes “hmmmm”, like jesus christ woman kitten already xD

Omg yes, i can’t stand those 2 NPC. They’re just as bad, if not worse, as those NPC’s in SW, or that annoying sylvari banker in LA. What is it with Anet? why are they doing this? To drive their players crazy? They deliberately put these annoying NPCs with their repetitive dialogues either right next to essential services, or the essential service NPCs themselves. I literally avoid LA bank and SW as much as possible and now, I’m avoiding Tarir as well.

The 2 NPC you mention in Tarir are unbearable. Once again, they’ve placed them very close to the only merchant there and they repeat the same sentence instantly over and over and over without pause. This is not only obnoxious, but very disrespectful of the players’ immersion. Sometimes it’s nice to have a peaceful moment while trading one’s goods and need to concentrate a bit so u don’t salvage or sell that wrong item. But that is impossible in gw2 these days without muting the sound.

I asked, no begged and i’m not the only one, to reduce that LA banker’s commentary when they first updated LA and i know many people have asked the same for those NPCs in SW. But not only have they ignored our pleas, they instead gave us even worse NPC to listen to in HoT.

It really boggles the mind why they want to destroy the player’s sense of appreciation for the immense VO dialogues they’ve created, by over doing everything. Sometimes, less is more and as much as i love VO in games, I’m being forced to mute my sounds to preserve my sanity.

Is that what u want Anet? You paid all them actors money for VO’s and your players are muting them coz u made the NPC’s repeat them so frequently, you’re driving us crazy. I don’t need the banker greet me every time i run up to them, nor do i need to hear them greet every other player that approaches them. Maybe you can make it so we can only hear our own greetings or our own pc commentary etc or something.

So please do something to change it, or at least reduce the frequency by like 99% ty.

This event brings bad memories of Karka event, where i got DC at the end, just b4 the ancient karka died and never got my reward.

But in a way, it’s even worse, lot of effort to do a whole map invasion, intense battles and big cost of wp all over the place, for no reward or so little it’s not even worth mentioning. No loot from enemies at all? Was this really necessary?

What chance do low lvl players have even tagging mobs and getting credit for these events? I’m a lvl 80 and i had trouble getting credit on lot of them.
the whole thing is just one huge zerg, after zerg.

Worst part, is the feeling of frustration, rather than enjoyment or sense of fun. I did a couple of events when it first started and got nothing at the end of it all. Today, I made a concerted effort, as there is one thing out off all the rewards that i’m interested in, the twisted moa mini, which is missing from my collection.

After starting at the beginning of the cycle in Brisban, i get dc both there and in Kessex Hills half way through the event, all progress lost. So after wasting 2 hours, i gave up in frustration and waited for the cycle to begin again. This time, i managed to do all 3 zones from start to finish and participating in every event i could possibly manage and what did i get at the end of it all? 5 lousy blossoms for each zone! If it wasn’t for the daily reward of 20 blossom i would have 15 in total for several hours of hard work. and yes this event is pure work, no fun at all.

The amount of time i wp to an event only to arrive as it’s ending and not getting credit, is the most frustrating thing. very reminiscent of daily events in noob zones only on a much grander scale.

Well, if i manage to get my mini, i will not be doing this event again, not only b/c of a feeling your efforts are not rewarded but also due to the above-mentioned frustrations. I can only hope this is not a reflection of what we can expect in HoT.

(sugg) Festivals Year Round

Tiger Ashante.1792

Why not create some fun festivals that are not reliant only on public holidays that happen in real life? These could be something like Bash the Dragon, GW2 Anniversary, Summerfest, Autmnfest, a Pirate themed one, Commemorate the Zephyrites one, or whatever u can imagine. Something that can be rotated year round between those specific holiday ones like Wintersday or Halloween.

You could add some tokens u can earn at each one and get some cool skins but not necessarily in one go. You may have to repeat several of the same type festivals to get enough to get that really rare skins or item but at the same time, there should be those easier ones to get that can be earned in one showing of the festival, like some minis or not so rare skins etc. perhaps even guild decorations, gliders etc.

You could have a festival merchant year round that has a list of these items to choose from and perhaps once a year add some new skins to the rotations? Any time you know there will be a break between content, you could add one of these festivals that run for several weeks to keep the ppl busy and entertained and give them a change of pace and some relief from farming etc.

I really believe we need something like this in the game. As it stands, periods between festivals in gw2 are too long and mere 2 real festivals, Halloween and Wintersday that only come once per year! Most of the games i played had tons of festivals that they rotated year round and there was hardly 2-3 weeks when something wasn’t going on. It makes the game look alive and it keeps the players logging in and feeling like they always have something fun to do and enjoy.

Please add your own if u can think of any.

Cheers!

And wouldn’t it be nice if they fixed that invulnerability issue with mobs including some skill point bosses underwater, like that winged creature in Mt Maelstorm or Timberline Falls, not sure which. I had that boss down to 1/3 of HP no less than 3 times and each time he would run away fully heal then come back at me till he finally killed me. The thing is, its not even a big area, a small lava cave underwater and I basically stayed in one spot where I first challenged him, but he still kept running away from me far enough to go invulnerable fully heal and only when he was full health would come back to attack me again. I was only able to complete the skill point on the next day, when another person came along and we basically pinned him to the wall.
But I see this all the time u/water and Orr is notorious for it. It often happens on land too but not as frequently as u/water. Put it this way, u/water combat was one the tings I really looked forward to in gw2 and at the beginning, I actually loved it. Then came the Invulnerability thing and it spoiled it for me to a point where i now dread going underwater. So hopefully they’ll fix this soon, so I can enjoy u/water exploration once again.

Does anyone else feel uneasy playing a toon of the opposite gender, I do.

I’m a guy, and even though most female toons are more pleasing on the eye to look at, playing one just makes me feel, “Strange”, not to mention the countless guys hitting on my toon, only to find out I’m a guy, and calling me well, some unpleasant names to say the least.

Like I want to make a female norn warrior, because I don’t like how the male norn’s torso seems to be shorter on one side than the other, lol.

I feel awkward playing the opposite gender character in MMO. In a single player game, it never bothered me but in MMO, it kinda does. I think it’s because in MMO you play and socialize with other players and it’s kinda nice to think that if you see a male character, or a female, those genders are the same IRL, so you know who you’re talking to without having to constantly ask and wonder.

I always get this odd feeling when I’ve been friends with some one for a long while and think they’re male or female b/c they play those characters, only to find out they’re the opposite gender. It makes me think, oh gosh, have i said the wrong thing to them at some point. Then it creates this weird feeling as it’s shifted your perception of them. It’s just an uncomfortable feeling i get having talked to someone for a long while thinking they’re female, only to find out later they’re male, especially if you’ve discussed female related things. When you meet new ppl, it puts you on edge a little and a bit uneasy having to ask them what gender they are all the time. And when u don’t know the gender, it makes you be more cautious about what you’re saying.

I think it would be nice if everyone played a gender they’re actually are IRL as it removes that confusion, but I understand why ppl do it. This is not me being uncomfortable with my gender, it just removes doubts and makes things more clear as to who you are talking to.

Lets focus on the OP’s post here. He was on the first boss, not some of the later ones that people here are arguing about.

The first boss’s 1 shot skill takes so long to wind up and only hits in front of him. If you are gonna melee him and stand in his face, just dodge behind him. He can’t move while charging up the attack so if you dodge earlier to behind him, you can just hit him while he stands there.

No, the first boss did 1 shot me the first time i tried, but then i got him the 2nd time. The odd thing is when i got 1 shot i was long way away from and don’t even know what hit me. All i know, i was full health 1 minute and dead the next.

2nd boss 1 shot me too, but i was confused by him coz he kept growing larger and larger and no matter how much i dodged or ran from him he was in my face. Then the 3rd boss, i was just a football, pulled and showed back and forth until i saw tiny little things in the air, don’t even know what they were. Birds? and it may have been them that were playing football with me. but even though i was downed i managed to kill the boss just in time.
then the 4th boss 1 shotted me as soon as i entered the arena and that’s when i rage logged.

OMG! You’ll all be pleased to know I got my guild back! Yes, finally. Not due to Anet’s support but due to DancinWookie logging in and reverting leadership back to me! I’m so relieved i can finally do things in my guild.

I just hope this thread has helped other people not to make the same mistake and encouraged Anet to add features to Guilds to prevent this type of error ever occurring. I also hope this thread don’t get closed, as it may still help other people, especially those new to the game.

Finally thank you all for your support and understanding, it really means a lot and it was your support that kept me hanging in there this long.
Cheers and happy gaming!

What to do about the Watchwork Mining Pick

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Tiger Ashante.1792

Tiger Ashante.1792

If the pick wasn’t for sale your argument would have some merit. Since it’s there in the store to buy, those that want that functionality can buy the pick. No reason for another version to be made.

This x100. Get it or don’t. It’s your choice but stop complaining about it. It’s not some uber exclusive item. Everyone has the ability to purchase it.

So even though i purchased all my characters the full tools sets when they first came and spent a small fortune on them already, you’d want me to buy another one? and what, throw away one of my other existing sets, or leave them rotting in the bank? is that what ur suggesting? Perhaps u can afford to do that but i can’t. I’ve spent enough on this crap, on what i thought would be the best tools, then the watchwork comes and now, not only can u make money off the mats u gather but get extra bonuses to cover ur purchase costs. if you call that equity, then i guess ur bias and i can understand that, since ur making extra money out of it and want to keep it that way.

i dont understand some people in this thread. So much complaining because you cant stand in a corner and 1111111 the boss to zero…OH WAIT YOU CAN. i literally stood behind him and blasted him down on all 8 of my lvl 80 characters .(some of wich arent even geared properly) every once in a while i had to swap to my rifle/scepter/other pew pew stick and zap a mender or other random ghost but i basically just stood in the same place all fight for like 5 mins until the fight ended. There was literally no skill required. i literally scratch my head at this thread. All i see is people who cant be bothered to read the event at the right of there screen and listen to the npc’s who literally handhold you through these LS boss fights. I enjoyed this content for its depth but challenging is definately not what this is for hell my youngest brother figured this stuff out without any help and had it done in 15mins….

Not everyone is good or has desire to exploit mechanics, some ppl actually try to play the game the way it was meant to be. Nor does everyone have a good reaction time due to internet latency, age, illness etc, making spam of CC’s difficult to avoid.

I also think my instance was bugged or something, there was way too many enemies and fear turrets in the room and menders were spawning way too fast one after another, something i didn’t now experience the first time around.

But i must thank you and some of the posters above for your statements “afk and use 11111” and such. What an original thought, never heard that b4 on these forums!

The guild system uses a fairly typical role-based security. There is no such thing as titles; they are simply named security categories. So, when creating one for yourself you need to make sure it has the permissions desired.

That said, I believe a warning dialog should be displayed when changing something as significant as guild leader. And, picking a member at random or otherwise as guild leader should not be the province of the software, it should require a human to make the selection. I wish you good fortune with the support folks at Anet. I know it must be a very uncomfortable position to be in.

Totally agree and what a lot of people seem to forget is that many players in gw2 have never run a guild before, myself included. In most games, including gw1, it was complicated to start your own guild and that made people think about it before going for it. In gw2 they have made it very simple and easy so lot of novices decided to try it. Perhaps a person with prior experience in leading a guild may not have made the same error?

But imo, if you create a system that so readily lets u change names/titles/edit ranks or whatever, then a preventative system should also be in place to help people avoid making such silly errors that have extremely dire consequences. We’re all humans and even devs make mistakes sometimes. To expect an average person to never do so is unreasonable. It’s so easy to push a wrong button when you’re being distracted or whatever and the system as it stands is terribly unforgiving and intolerant of any errors.

Guild titles and privileges are not something to play with without thinking, as they include guild leadership privileges too.
Leadership hasn’t been “taken away” from you, you removed it yourself because you did a mistake when changing privileges.
I realize you are upset but you need to file a ticket to ANet and see if they can reverse your mistake.
Thread will prolly be locked soon, there was no reason to make it as it is your mistake not a problem of the game to it must be solved through support tickets.

Yea i guess my post is too long and u probably didn’t read it fully but i have submitted support ticket, why else would i say support refused to help? And when people say its my fault, I think anet has to take at least partial responsibility for not putting some safety net in here before making such a dramatic changes. Nothing told me this change of title would alter my guild leader status.

Allow Players to choose Dungeon Level

in Suggestions

Posted by: Tiger Ashante.1792

Tiger Ashante.1792

Create an interface when entering a dungeon that gives an option to choose at what lvl you want to run the dungeon.

The rewards should scale up or down according to the level chosen. There should be minimum and maximum level the dungeon can scale to. So for eg: AC can only go as low as lvl 35 and as high as lvl 80 and anything in between.

This would allow inexperienced players (both on level and higher) to run dungeons at various levels until they learn how it works and gain the necessary experience. On the other hand, it can also provide a greater challenge for people who want to brave higher lvls than their actual level.

The level 80 tier of the dungeon should be most challenging, sort of like Hard Mode to provide that bit of extra challenge for those who want it, but also the highest rewards.

I think this would add more variation to dungeons and allow everyone to experience them regardless of their level (well at least for those above lvl 35 that is).

Always Show My Name

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Tiger Ashante.1792

So, way back when I first beta’d this game there was one thing that troubled me slightly. I kept losing my character in the sea of others doing events and things. It was distressing, but I moved past it and got better, but in the back of my vain little head I always wished to see my own name above my head with my titles. It’s a staple of most MMOs and the like and I always wanted it here. I used to have my party members T-target me in dungeons and stuff for fun just to see it. Then a few months ago ANet added a way for you to see your name with the Alt Key and I rejoiced a little inside. Tonight I was helping a friend in spvp set up their keybinds and I noticed that there is a toggle for “Always Show My Name” cheekily placed in the options. I didn’t see this in the patch notes anywhere or in any news, and I just lept for joy.

This may be No big deal for some, but for me its the little things like that that I REALLY appreciate. Just that the option is there means a lot. So thanks for this! It’s epic and I love it! I also love that it’s a thing I can turn off on a whim as well.

TL;DR: ANet secretly added in an option for me to always see my characters name/title without a key press; I am happy as Kittens about it and thought others should know! =D

Yes indeed they sneakily added it in, thinking no one would notice but i did…only by accident mind you. I’ve been asking for this feature since release and yes, we finally have it!

I’ve also been asking for personal portraits ever since game launched, but so far no luck. I always thought it strange not having a portrait in an MMO where u have to group a lot and its always made me feel like my character is non-existent. I dislike the fact when in a party, i can see everyone else portrait except my own, how strange is that? Anyway, you never know, they may surprise us all one day and sneak it in just like they did show your name option.
Please Anet add this feature too, please.

I’m the one on the right, the smaller one. Don’t u think they look like sisters? I created my charr ranger during the head start so had no idea about the NPC’s likeness and so forth, but ever since i came cross this charr, sitting by herself in remote part of Diessa Plateau, I kept telling myself I must got there one day with my charr and take a pic, coz she looks very much like her sister lol.

If you have similar pics feel free to post.

PS. Just to clarify, i didn’t mean ppl should post pics that only resemble other NPCS can be other players too or any look alikes.

Yes there should be easy mode for people to train sort of speak. I suggested as much myself in one of my threads. and yes SAB did have an easy mode and it was a good idea.
any new type of mechanics or something totally new, should have 2 modes easy/hard for people to get an idea how it works.

GW1 had normal/hard mode for all content and it was a great way to learn as both modes were same, only Hard Mode was well….harder.

BTW, does it have to be done during the initial story? Or can that segment be repeated for the achievement?

I agree that screen clutter has become too much in gw2. Kind of ironic really when u consider their ideology since inception of gw2 is to have minimal UI elements, so much so, they’ve denied us any type of customization of it.

I was in DS yesterday trying to complete the map, and with the meta event on and all the pvp, raid ads, my entire right side of the screen was covered in crap all the way where it was starting to overlap my mini map. Seriously Anet? What is this garbage? Like others have said, this is the only game that don’t allow u any options to customize ur UI and yet you insist on cluttering it for us and obscuring our vision.

(Bug?) Item Booster & Oakenheart Essence

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Tiger Ashante.1792

PS. I just thought to mention why i haven’t used item boosters much but let them accumulate in my bank and I think it’s the same issue that now effect the new mastery Oakenheart Essences. Way back when item boosters were introduced to the game, i noticed that each time u gather resources when item booster is active, it flips your weapon skills. I’ve reported this at the time but the issue persist. The use of item booster seems to innately remove your weapons, though on the skill bar it only seems to flip them over. I guess it’s due to the fact your weapons are actually permanently equipped. With the essences, being a temporary equip and an environmental type item, it removes them completely.

Hope this help in identifying the issue.

Bounties Training Mission is a ripe-off!!!

there easier(1 bounty vs 2 bounties). Training is supposed to be just that TRAINING there only something to help practice and get the influence so when you do do the real thing your not complaining here again to the forums about how you couldn’t do it and you still didn’t get your chest.

Oh really? if that’s the case why are large guilds, or any size guilds for that matter, allowed to do these training missions? Why wasn’t there a guild size number restriction so larger guilds, who can lick this kind of training mission any time they please due to their large membership, cannot abuse this system? It seems to me, all the training missions have done is given even more easy ways for large guilds to earn influence points, making the gap between large and small guilds even larger. GG indeed!
