Story time! DH got nice and cozy in first place against AR and BP all weekend that week we moved up to T6, only losing our lead Monday morning after we all went to sleep. So clearly, DH >>>> AR and BP. And the server that wins reset is the better server. Clearly. Also following through that logic, DR > DH > AR > BP. So obviously this whole tier thing is just backwards! Someone alert Anet.

Hmm I don’t think you even understand what I am saying. Reset is the time when the fighting is the most equal in terms of numbers between the servers.

How dare they utilize stealth traps to counter your ridiculous, normally uncounterable class mechanic? Was it tiresome for you to have to fight for more than 4 seconds at a time?

Come on that is way to excessive for such a little group. Doesn’t matter the class. They also had two thieves. By my standards, I would say there is no reason for siege when you have 2 SR’s of your own, along with a mesmer and a ranger.

Two guildless invaders vs two thieves with stacks and food buffs. kay. Bet you didn’t have them selected because they were upscales. Seeing as my level 30 is higher rank than Invader- which signifies that this is your first time stepping foot into WvW on that charater. Well I’ll play your game of shadow refuge roulette. See you on the battlefield, with that pro basi-stealth build. Not like I’ve fought against that before ever or anything.

I say to balance the game if you fight a CD at fight club they should have to start the fight by putting all their utilities on cooldown and using a racial elite and wearing no pants.

It was impossible to push your towers with a zerg that you were fielding plus the atleast 5 ACs already prebuilt on all the towers. What is boring to me is spending an hour to take a tower, no fun for me.

Tonight defending bay was probably the highlight of the week for me, absolute craziness. BP, you guys kept coming, and on the other side of the map, YB with golems at hills, which was eventually taken. Kept BP from Bay though. Back and forth between the two was hectic but a lot of fun.
Nice job tonight DH. I think we are exceeding everyone’s expectations atm, including glicko’s.

Yeah, the PD mesmers are good. Pain in the rear to fight. We fought 3 of them outside their Vale/Briar last night, and they kept chain mass invising. So frustrating to go against lol

When will anet realize no one wants this kitten? We have quite the robust list of things we want related to WvW, several of which would be incredibly simple to fix or implement. Buying ranks with laurels is not one of those things we’re interested in, but appeases the PvE crowd which gets showered with gifts every patch. Schtap it!

Dear Assassin X, I run with 1 other Mes and its not hard to get wxp when u just hit these ridiculous zergs with 2 feedbacks and 2 Null Fields, boom wxp galore, sry will start ss just for you. By your name I assume you are a thief, well since your just about the only class that runs and hides just to reset a fight, you, of all people should know how to get wxp with out the zergs.

Put a signature on. Maybe people will take you seriously. But I doubt it, because you’re claiming you got your Bronze Squire rank from… roaming? But by using null field and feedback. So, tell me, how did that zergball die and give you the wxp. Something tells me you were sitting in a keep at the time, on an arrow cart most likely, and by sitting in that keep you are gathering the wxp from the defend event. Or you were in your own zergball, with your buddies doing all the damage since mesmers can really only tag in zerg fights and provide veils and feedbacks. So that’s getting your rank by zerging. Again, put guild tag in your signature and my guildies will give you a fight away from the zergball.

Also, Assassin X is a warrior I believe. Confused me too being a gw1 player.

Guardian golf match between DH and NSP on the west cliff of hills- not sure what the tally is but we clearly need to start a leaderboard.

A tad bit late on this, but I would like to give KING and i believe i saw Cosa and a couple other guilds out there props. You guys stuck around and continued to attack Redlake in DH Borderlands for 2 and a half hours. I was commanding that whole thing, it was completely ridiculous! You guys just kept coming! There were a couple times where i didn’t believe we would of held it but we did. Once again, good job to you SF. It was a fun night indeed, I’m sure your people had fun because we know we did

We had a lot of fun at that tower, although I think you guys went a little overboard with those endless breakouts. Taking on KING, the SF pugs, and Siegerazor…? Sure, what’s a little champion smacking around the tower for good measure…

In other news, I was looking through the screencaps to find a good one to post and what do I see lurking in the corner of this one, but a wee IOJ taking down our siege on the side. The amount of coordination I’ve seen this weekend between the two servers to take down our siege is pretty commendable, if that’s the word you want to use. We’ll set up on center island to hit IOJ, and SF will come up the back to take it down. We’ll throw some defensive siege up on a tower in SF BL, and IOJ comes to build an AC to take it down. Now if you guys could channel that coordination the rest of the week, and within your own servers, this matchup would have been a lot more exciting these past 3 weeks.

Been a pretty fun weekend guys, thanks for saving us from being tier locked with Ehmry Bay. :P All in all, good practice for us, fending off 2 fronts. Word on the street is that ratings system will change to become more volatile in the coming weeks, so hopefully things will get shuffled about. Good show.

To the three Sorrow’s Furnace who /laughed at me and let me run by last night as I was sprinting to our garrison: Yes, your team was already in the lord’s room. Yes, your zerg has just broken inner wall at bay. Impeccable timing. But next time, you might want to consider killing any and all stragglers. For [PD] is kitten fast and kitten good, and when I arrived in the lord’s room they were still staving you off, and I was the one who built the arrow cart as fast as my swiftness could go that helped to put the final OP nails in your golem-sized coffins. And then I booked it to bluevale to help take down your remaining superior trebs and then spent the rest of my time slapping some AoE on your rabid, angry zerg which stubbornly humped bay’s outer wall for some time. Rejected at keeps thrice last night. Just tough love, SF.

So I’m sure watching the stragglers high-tailing it to the garrison when you thought you had 2 keeps in the bag was simply hilarious, but I get to have the last laugh of the night.

Also, epic three-way SM battle again. Still loving this matchup. <333s to IOJ and SF.

I logged about 5,000 hours in the game, primarily WvWing for the first two years (I actively avoided S1 LS, etc).
I don’t WvW any more (except the occasional daily) because Arena Net has made it crystal clear their focus is casual PvE, and to a lesser extent, PvP (although they need to overhaul celestial/conditions… which they already know). WvW is a game mode that barely exists to them, which is such a waste of a financial opportunity. They lost their hardcore gamers long ago. And the fact that their business model is reliant on new, transient players is a shame to the community and to the loyal players of their games.
I played GW1 from 2005 up until the hour GW2 launched. Can’t and won’t say the same about GW2.

No one is allowed to play WvW unless I’m in already. That way when I “work hard” capping the map no one can undo it without me being there. I don’t care if you play at a different time to me, you’re not allowed to play WvW without me because that’s unfair.

I don’t play overnight, I play during standard daytime hours for my timezone, I often find out in the morning everything has been capped by 1 server – that’s just how it goes. Suck it up or go back to a single player game where you can control when things happen by switching the game off.

It’s the way it is, but it doesn’t have to be. This is a game programmed by actual people, it’s not predestined by some deity. No one is saying people in oceanic time zones shouldn’t play, but having some sort of adjustment to the amount of points garnered with zero or a few defenders is broken and could be fixed. But won’t be, let’s be honest.

Don’t kid yourself, only mesmers and thieves can have skills.

We’ll be talking about upcoming WvW stuff starting next week. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you what we’ll be talking about quite yet, but I figured at the very least I’d give you folks a timeline to go off of.

As an aside, we’re also expanding our bi-weeky livestream (Ready Up) to cover WvW in addition to PvP and balance. WvW will be the main topic on our next episode (1/31). I’ll officially announce the stream with a post next week sometime.

They were talking about the lack of dev response in this subforum, presumably compared to dev response in other forums, such as the pvp subforum, which seems to get showered with responses. Little red anet tags next to a thread in this subforum more often than not just tells of a thread lock, or a soooooon™
We’re not asking for twitch livestreams talking about eotm (which is primarily aimed at alleviating issues in T1, and one of the last reasons people transfer from higher tiers to lower tiers), we’re asking for feedback in the WvW Discussion subforum. You can engage with the community and provide a structured sense of direction for your game without revealing specifics about updates, and I believe that’s what the OP was aiming for.

Wat, my entire game play has been altered by relationships with enemies I’ve met on these forums and then talked to in game. My whole wvw experience has been more positive because of it. Being a better player, learning from other servers.. this isn’t WWII. It’s a video game and the community is the main reason we play MMOs.

Well wherever we move, I’m still using “kitten” for censorship.
