Night time pretty much always happens when Behemoth is due. And ends after I think the Frozen Shaman.
That said, I’d like to see darker nights to be honest.
The word ‘forced’ is used too much in these forums, we’re not forced into anything in this game.
Don’t worry. I’m still in the game.
Wait, who am I again?
What? I created my characters years ago so I don’t remember. But how does it work with the final boss? If somebody misses it, he or she has to wait for it? That sound silly.
yep that’s the way it goes. Waiting means another event though.
Even if you don’t do a single hit on the last boss (For example, the two earth hands in the Defense of Shaemoor) you still progress to the next stage. Once you’ve simply ‘seen’ the hands, you’re the Hero of Shaemoor, in game terms.
I don’t think they need to make a new feature of key-chains or key rings, even though it’d be handy to have. I think it’d be far easier for ArenaNet to make them into ‘currencies’ so they can be stored in the wallet like other things.
^^; Look at his character name and the items in the gem shop/bltp…
Doh!
/em goes and sits in the corner, being quiet…
I guested Jade Sea [FR] and it solved the issue and got 100% Map Completion back.
The Engineer has the following weapon swap options:
1. Equipped Weapon
2. Flamethrower
3. Elixir Gun
4. Mortar
5. Bomb
6. Grenade
7. Med Kit
8. Toolbelt SkillsThis means that based on skill usage, an Engineer can have between 1 and 6 different weapon sets available at a time.
This means that you have the choice to have 50% of the weapon swaps of other classes, or 300% of the weapon swaps of other classes, depending on how you set yourself up.
Added one for you.
Here are some options you should try:
1) You can click the ‘Headlines’ of the Living Story/Personal Story/Festival Event and minimise the text that’s shown.
2) You can go into options and turn off completely the content guide that’s showing you which direction to head to for the various things.
3) You can also hide the UI altogether by clicking Ctrl + Shift + H
4) I’m not sure if repeating a topic that was already deleted is allowed, but kudos for making this one polite.
I honestly don’t think clipping is too much of an issue, since there’s already a lot of armor clipping in game. And the way character models work, simply increasing the width means the armor expands with the body model.
I disagree. I think the sight of chunks of flesh outside of armour and other places it’s not meant to show through would be unsightly, compared to a shortbow or a staff going through armour.
What you’re asking for is something that should have been implemented before release in 2012. It’s probably way beyond it now, with the amount of skins that are available.
If you want people to rep your guild, it’s up to you as a guild leader to make them want to rep, not up to ArenaNet. Offer them something to the table instead of “Hey, rep our guild so you can be our billboard”.
There will be a lot more anger if people were forced to choose only one guild because ArenaNet took four of them away. Take Roleplayers for example – some people have more than one RP character, for example, an Asura and a Seraph soldier. The Asura might be in a College-based guild, the Seraph in a Seraph-based guild. Making them have to choose would be a bad move.
Also – someone not repping your guild isn’t necessarily an inactive one.
Players are like siblings. If you give to one, the others will want as well.
Wouldn’t it be nice to choose project and then support this project? If you buy gems money are spent for entire game. It’s totally different. I’d definitely pay 5€ if they decide to continue with rest of legendary weapons. But in general. Would you support certain project with your money? For example, new dungeons? Or maybe raid wings released more often? Or something else?
Personally I don’t find Legendary weapons, or in fact any type of cosmetic skin, as “content”. Sure, you can now do a journey to reach the current new weapons, but I do personally think people are getting on their high horse for nothing when it comes to legendary rage.
Of course, others and probably yourself may disagree, but I much prefer the team to concentrate on a new Living Story. Not only this, but I don’t actually believe ArenaNet are having problems with money anyway.
Whereas the idea itself isn’t a bad idea – and the history could be useful, what I’m concerned about is your motive for wanting it. You can’t really judge someone’s loyalty to a guild with this history alone.
For example:
Player A might have a full home instance and just wanted to get rid of a stash they had building up.
Player B might only rep the guild once a week.
Player C might have two jobs, kids and a mortgage to pay.
I don’t think I have a single character with Bezerker stats, yet they are all still alive!
You’re rich when you can’t think of anything you need a certain currency for anymore. That could be 300 gold or 3,000 gold. Or 0 gold and 12 Black Lion Claim Tickets.
Hi,
I don’t know if anyone else has spotted this, but when I receive a mail from a player, the ‘Delete’ button is missing the letter ‘e’ off the end, saying “Delet”.
However, messages from the game, are correct. The other two buttons are fine (‘Reply’ and ‘Return to Sender’). It could possibly be because of the Report button (the hexagonal “!” button) appears for player-sent mail and does not for game sent mail.
Thank you.
I’d much rather RP it with another player, than have it pre-scripted by an NPC.

To me this shows that the community is just desperate to complain about anything at all.
But you’re complaining about people complaining!!
However, I think you need to understand that Guild Wars 2 and this other game are two different entities entirely. Two different communities, where perhaps some have played both, some have played one, some have played the other.
You’re post suggests that all Guild Wars 2 players (or at least those that complained about the DH name) have played this other game, and it’s not the case. We can’t really use other games as a comparison for this case.
On Piken Square I Roleplay a Skritt sometimes, using a Skritt tonic made in the Mystic Forge.
Ingredients:
2 x Mystery Tonic + 1 x Tiny Claw + 1 Slab of Red Meat = 2 x Skritt Tonic.
Since the Skritt tonics only last 15 minutes, I limit the time I RP with my ‘Skritt’ (His name is Skrittbags and he is a lost former experiment of the Asura).
Personally, I don’t think having Skritt as a full-time playable race is necessary, but I would love the Skritt tonic to last longer than 15 minutes. About 1 hour should be long enough, considering the rarity of the ingredients needed.
:)
The money will first have to be pooled together as it has come from quite a few different sources. Then, approved budgets have to be finalised for each section of Lion’s Arch to be rebuilt. Then, decisions have to be made whether to re-build some of the buildings, or to make new ones by the Board of Trustees and the Captain’s Council of Lion’s Arch.
Then, once decisions are made, the town planning has to be designed and approved by the councils, which is usually done by several designs being proposed in front of the Captain’s Council. Then the building process can begin once majority voting has been done. So, it’ll take some time for Lion’s Arch to be re-built.
p.s. This is all In-Character, of course!
[Audio] New Log-In Music is Awesome!
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: penelopehannibal.8947
Hi,
I’ve logged on this morning with my morning coffee, and the music is playing is different to the regular music. I think it’s awesome and I hope we get to keep it. No doubt it’s Heart of Thorns music due to the Revenant Beta Weekend, but I’d love for us to keep it before then!
My hat’s off to the composer.
With those ranger buffs, mesmer buffs, warrior buffs on an elementalist, then sorry, in my eyes that’s not a “your” DPS but a shared DPS.
But it costs more than 1 gold to make one in the current way (and way more if you average the times you don’t get a clover), so I doubt it’ll happen due to Mystic Clovers being designed to be a fairly exclusive item.
As an RP’er, the major issue with coming across people at random is basically, not knowing who is a troll or not. We come across plenty of people who think it’s hilarious to sit on top of people, stripping, emote spamming, the like. Even had someone commander tag up and spam map chat once on top of us.
But, we do try if people show an interest! My advice is, if you’re interested, don’t be downhearted aboit being ‘ignored’, they were probably mid event or such. Whisper someone there, chat out of character to them in anything other than the say chat (don’t be the /s “lel rp” guy) and mostly you’ll find rp’ers to be nice enough people.
Also, I never see the LFG used (seriously).
Agreed. Being ‘ignored’ isn’t necessarily people wanting to reject you, they just might be engaged with a set plot. My RP guild regularly goes out of the cities from Lion’s Arch on bounty hunts, and we often encounter people following us, mostly harmless, you get the odd troll.
But if we come across another person who is genuinely an RPer or wants to become one, we’ll try and fit a conversation or a greeting in, but it’s not always ICly capable to do so.
When you said ‘Free Princess’ I was hoping you meant as a mini pet
I hope this would never happen, I understand where you’re coming from, but to single out new characters (and especially, new players who might want to ask a few questions about the game without asking publicly) is a terrible idea, sorry.
All this idea would do is stop them whispering, and they would start map chat advertising, which we’re left in the same boat in still needing to Right Click>Block>Report each one anyway.
Lion’s Arch isn’t anybody’s home city, technically (can be if you RP though) – so as Justine says, park your character in a different city. You can access WvW from anywhere you want, so long as you’re not in combat.
On a separate issue, when are they going to fix the bumps on Grenth High Road? It’s a trip hazard!!
To be honest though, it would probably have limitations, especially for those who have 20+ characters (probably for those who have 10+ to be honest!) – it would be nice if they could do it though.
And now there’s another suspension to another player.
I suggest that everyone stops AFK farming now.
Yep. If everyone is looking for a clear statement on it, the suspensions are it.
You can hover over the symbols in the top left corner when you open the map, they will highlight any undiscovered Points of Interest, Waypoints etc when you hover over each of the symbol. If there are any of these in undiscovered areas (areas not uncovered in the map that is) it will direct you to the scout that you can talk to to direct you close to these areas.
Alternatively, there’s also the Content Guide, which will act like a compass as you travel through each map, showing you not just Points of Interest and Waypoints and stuff, but also undiscovered areas.
You can access the content guide in options. It’s set to ‘off’ by default.

If the game still works, what difference does it make?
Considering that:
Tl;dr intentional mechanics that allow pet kills to give experience and loot =/= permission to afk farm.
This is absolutely correct.
If your pets are doing the killing and your mastery is doing the looting; you’re okay as far as GMs are concerned. This does not mean design can’t/won’t/should/shouldn’t update the system as it works today.
And we players who are saying this means it’s not allowed, coupled with the fact a few players are now getting suspensions even though they’re supposedly not using 3rd Party Programmes, I think it’s safe for all of us to say it’s actually not ok to AFK farm now. Which is how it should be.
Have any of you run into this? In raids or dungeons, or maybe jumping puzzles etc.? Is there a way to filter it out? I don’t think you should let your 8 year old play.
How about we find a way to filter out kids like you instead?
Try guesting a different server to get you out. That worked for me when the Mount Maelstrom one happened.
I placed a heroes banner in mad kings lab en after 5 min it was gone. Happend twice. Didn’t left the instance. Is this intended or a bug?
Yep, that happened to me as well. You don’t even get to travel clockwise round the labyrinth before your expensive banner has disappeared.
Having same issue. Just randomly stops recognising the keyboard altogether. Only way to fix it is to close the entire client and re-open.
Guys who play female characters are just feminine men in RL (which is fine I guess).
Every single one? How do you know this? Does this mean that all humans that play Charr are feline humans?
Whilst doing map completion today, I’ve run into numerous AFK farmers. A lot more that I have ever seen with this character, than I have seen with probably all the other 17 characters I’ve done map completion with put together, or near enough.
All in various maps, since the announcement made by Michael. One particular instance was worrying. In the picture below, there are five AFK farmers at [Stentor Cannonade] POI, Straits of Devastation. All AFK, during a heavy assault event by risen forces. Two of them I ended up struggling to revive before I realised they were AFK farmers, as I was switching between fighting and reviving.
There were four rangers, and one elementalist. All of which are upscaling the event in question, with just myself as the real player fighting against the risen. If this behaviour is going to be allowed, it will be detrimental especially towards events, as well as lower the value of the overall economy over a longer period of time, if more and more players start doing this.
The time and place this happened (if it’s important) was around 00:30 BST, megaserver /ip 206.127.146.105:0 on EU servers.
Sadly, I’ve seen this in other areas, too.. though that screenshot you’ve got captures the ambience of the gaming environment we’ve seen lately quite nicely. Well done, Penelope. Perhaps that’ll show those in charge that such “allowed behaviors” are a detriment to those attempting to actually play the game, and this allowed “function” of game mechanics should be reviewed.
I returned to [Stentor Cannonade] this morning at 11:00 BST, and four out of the five AFK farmers were still there, some of them in a slightly different position to pictured. There was also an additional two AFK farmers there.
Actually, “people who preorder are not competent consumers” is, unfortunately, an economic reality.
I’m afraid it’s not.
People will buy what they want to buy. There’s nothing incompetent about purchasing stuff. Someone buying something and it doesn’t quite work out to what they wanted isn’t something exclusive to pre-orders.
I can buy an O’Chicken Burger from a new restaurant called O’Donnel’s for instance. If it ends up not being what I expected, that’s not my fault as a consumer. It’s not me who was incompetent for purchasing something that looked like it would appeal to me.
It’s not buying the burger that makes you an incompetent consumer. Its the part where you pay for that burger, in full, a year or more in advance. The part where you rationalize how this type of consumer behavior is logical is the real icing on the cake here though.
Carry on though; Anet needs people like you.
Since when is buying something irrational?
Value is not absolute. You may think something holds less value, I may think something holds more value. That’s for each of us to make our own individual evaluations. Like I said earlier, I pre-purchased for the half-priced gems that I would only end up buying anyway at full price. If you think it’s more rational to buy the Expansion on Release date or later, and then buy gems at full price on top of that, well…
Carry on. Anet needs people like you!
Yehhh 1,000 day
You realise you’ve played this game 7,4 hours per day every day for the past 1000 days.
every day…
EVERY DAY!!!
Wow!
I dare not show you mine then!
You can get may answers and info about things like lore, how to join guilds and RP events at guildwars2roleplayers.com
You can create your own character bio there, read other player’s characters and swap ideas and meet new people to RP with.
There’s even a directory for different types of RP guilds you may wish to join, and everything is divided between Piken Square (EU) and Tarnished Coast (NA) servers, so you can find the right people whether you’re EU or NA

First – remove your email addresses from the post!!!
Secondly, you can only re-activate an old account if you’ve not had a refund. So, if it’s from a permanent ban or something, you can check with ArenaNet Customer Service by submitting a ticket via clicking ‘Support’ at the top of this page.
You will have to prove ownership of the account first of all though, if you’re allowed the account back.
Best of luck and welcome back to Tyria if you do get it back
Not a single one of my 20 characters runs a Bezerker build, yet they are all still alive!
The character customisation is how it is. There isn’t anything to ‘fix’ as you put it. Perhaps add to it, but it’s by no means broken.
No uneeded filler scenes inbetween like NCsoft logo etc with additional loading screen like certain other mmorpgs have. It feels “pure”. Good job!
Never thought about that until now! Amazing the number of little details about Guild Wars 2 that we either take for granted or never notice, but we still benefit from!
Yes, thank you ArenaNet for this!
Guild Wars 2 was marketed to be different to other MMOs partially by not having a sub. If you thought the uproar over the HoT Price and free base game was huge, imagine what it would be like to lock people out of the game with a sub!

Do Report claims even get looked at?
in Account & Technical Support

I’m fairly sure they do look at them, but if you’re talking about In-Game reports, don’t look for them to respond to each individual report that is sent to them for obvious reasons.
