gw2 precursor recipe/scavanger hunt news?

We want to let you know that the ability to build your precursor will not be in our upcoming Feature Pack. The way progression and rewards work in Guild Wars 2 have changed quite a bit since we initially talked about that feature, and our main horizontal progression systems are about to get some additional updates in the upcoming feature pack. Because of that, we are looking into several ways to integrate building your precursor into our new updated reward and progression systems we’re working on, which is requiring additional development time and iteration. As always, we’ll share details on this system once it’s far enough along in production we’re ready to discuss it.

Any speculation on what the recipe of Geode,Piece of Ambrite, Mystic Coin and Quartz Crystal might be? I’m wondering if I should hold on to my Geodes for now.

List of armor that is still Soulbound?

From a recent update, I thought that all ascended and high-end gear should be account bound, and no longer soulbound. My wife wanted to retire an old character, and move her Light of Dwayna over to a new one, expecting the back-piece to be account bound. To her shock, it was still Soulbound!?!?!

Figured I’d start this thread for people to list out any other armor pieces that still behave the same way, and need to be fixed. To most people in other threads I’ve read on the subject this is viewed as a bug, and annoyance, but to get it fixed we need to increase awareness and demand for a fix. If you have armor pieces that share the same issue, please continue to post here until something is done about it….

GW2 Dev Gods, please hear our plea to get this fixed!

Book of Secrets

So I mentioned this in the correct thread (outfits) and also posted a bug report but since it hasn’t been fixed since the 15th just figured it might be worth having its own thread.

How come we can’t use the skin from the book of secret? There IS a skin for Koss on Koss so it seems a bit odd that the Book of Secrets would not unlock a skin too or unlock the same skin. I like my book back item and would love to use it on another character, but certainly not enough to try and make that book too. T6 mats aren’t cheap after all.

Glint's size

Okay, so I’m not the best at math but because a recent conversation with guildies about Kralk’s size, I started working on this.

Kralk’s size is “A thousand feet tall” and he is described as being 20 times larger then glint.

Taking these statements as factual, Thousand feet tall is roughly 300 meters, and both divided by 20 come out to around the same size. 49-50 feet taller, or 15 meters tall. That makes Glint taller then Tequatl the sunless.

Obviously it doesn’t match her GW1 appearance, but many scale factors have been tweaked since then. (I’ve heard something like the buildings are now properly sized with doors and all, but the actual world map is slightly smaller or something?) But overall, I’m curious if we have anything we can work on to figure out her rough size?

Well they did move away from most of the things they said during development (see the manifesto), it only figures that interview-lore isnt sacred either.

Unless we’ve built content around something, it’s usually considered malleable from a design and lore standpoint. Occasionally we decide to go in a different direction months or years after the first ideas are documented or even talked about externally. In some cases that means what one member of staff says in an interview can change when it comes time to building a release. It’s part of our iterative process.

In short, go by what’s in the game.

I wouldnt even mind to rely only on lore that is presented in the game if there would be enough lore in the game. Im still hoping for some kind of codex in the hero panel.

My advice for you and others who care about the lore is to let us know what you think of the implementation in season 2. We’ve put a lot more resources into seeding each episode with loreful bits.

As always, thanks for playing and letting us know what you think.

Pacifist yes, but completely able to defend themselves. In the crystal race event they actually do fight the inquest IIRC, in dry-top.

Of course they’d defend themselves, but likely wouldn’t go and attack somebody. As for how, using the aspects. Like the ASpect arena showed, the sun, lightning and air can be used offensivesly, and depending on terrain, with great effect.

Don’t Quaggans lay eggs? doesn’t that make them not mammals?

Not per se, since here on Earth the platypus is an egg-laying mammal.

Here is some more information on egg laying mammals (Monotremes) if anyone is curious http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monotreme

Omadd's Machine Impact on the RP community?

It should be ignored, just as RPing as commander of the Pact or any other aspect of being the “chosen one” based on game stories. Too easy to GodMod. Too assuming that other players will simply accept and validate. They are right to wait and establish it as separate from the “personal aspect” of both LS and PS.

Same reason as RPing the obvious Mark of Acheron in AoC was frowned on. We all had it, once, but the game story disallowed everyone being the “chosen one”. Rather than allowing all to RP the snowflake, some things are best swept under the rug.

Otherwise, you get RP sessions like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Xd_zkMEgkI

Sylvari other tree

Something stands out to me during the Malyck storyline.

First, Malyck can’t see the dream, and the Pale Tree Sylvari can’t see “his” dream. However, during the Sylvari living story, we visit a Sylvari Seer who is very adept at viewing the dream. She says this to Malyck:

" A distant shore—and darkness. A root, a cave…you. You are the seed. What Ronan knew and never told still lingers in the Dream."

Now, how would Malyck, the seed in a dark cave, linger in the dream? When would the dream have witnessed a seed in a dark cave?

Perhaps Malyck was the same generation as the pale tree, but he hatched from the seed instead of being buried at the nexus of a bunch of ley lines?
