People complain about everything being in RNG boxes and demand more items be sold directly in the gem store, and now that we have a new skin in the gem store people complain about that. Seriously sometimes I’m glad Arena Net just seems to ignore half of the people on these forums.
I guess some people like playing the gem store. I actually like to play the rest of the game.
From what I have read, you can only get the Aetherblade Armor from the Gemstore.
My first response is what the hell? Why can’t I earn the armor skins by doing objectives?
Yes, anyone can buy gemstones via in-game gold, but when all skin content has to be obtained by grinding and farming gold it becomes extremely boring and disappointing.
I am really disappointed in Anet’s decision to not challenge the player. I guess that is the logic behind this. Anet is afraid to challenge the players so they put everything on the gem store so anyone can just grind their way or spend cash. I don’t really blame them. If they made content or a challenge there would be players crying on the forums.
There really is no such thing as a challenge anymore in MMOs. Its just a grind.
It is not his ISP. I constantly run ping tests when I experience this “unresponsiveness” and expect my ISP to be the cause but it never is.
As mentioned, the warrior (sadly) is the worst bearer of this burden. Weapon swap delays and bulls charge/savage leap delays are very darn frequent.
I also sometimes experience a skill “not being used”. The skill icon gets pushed (as if I was using the skill) but nothing more happens unless I press the skill again.
Weird I know, but it does happen sometimes :-(

For some reason it laggs like hell in pvp, which makes it hard to play, and even harder to play good. In wvw it is not that big of a deal, but in pvp it makes a lot of problems.
Swapping weapons takes ages, and on top of that it has an aftercast that is even more annoying. It would be nice if whole time on weapon swap would be eliminated so combos could be more fluent.
Most skills have too long animations and aftercast that simply kills the play. Warrior is best example of it where every single skill he uses takes ages to connect, and once it does he has to wait for aftercast to go away before he can even move.
Some skills and their animation break/evade other skills even if they are not evade skills simply because character doesn’t rotate and follow target at all. Thief can evade attacks, and being stunned with shield bash simply because shield bash takes to long to connect and thief just gets away with regular skill even thou he didn’t dodge or used an evade skill.
Whole thing just feels like playing on drugs, its just too slow and kitten and it doesn’t do things I press keys to do.
Do agree that there’s too much casting time. Just makes it feel slower and less responsive.

-Pvp is still very bad.
-Only 1 pvp mode (No guild vs guild, no deathmatch), which is awful and boring to play, not to mention to watch (250 viewers daily @ twitch, when diablo 3 has nearly no pvp and has constant 4k+)
-The useless traits and skills released in the beginning, havent been changed, being this coming patch a very narrow modify to 5% of them.
-The actual pvp mode is in itself very bad, being no real solo q, matching casuals against teams. Poor development.I bought it in the release, played active for 5 months, when I saw the slow progress of patching, I decided to quit, and it was a good decision.
For what i keep watching in the patches from time to time, the progress to develop the game is very bad in terms of quality but also slow.
I think the game will have the necessary health and care in 2-3 years more (and maybe some features will never be released), considering the speed of introducing stuff.
The thing is by that time, there will be so nice games out there in the market that most pvpers won´t even remember gw2. But I will remember gw1, that was a real pvp game, fun and competitive.GL & HF ^^

Same goes for me. I dont wana play game where developers isnt able to fix my favorite class since beta. I played WoW for almost 7 years (only tauren warrior). I preordered GW2 at first day, and i played only char warrior in gw2 (around 900 tournament played until November).
Promise at start was:
Focus on PvP, eSports, balance around Warrior….
Somewere in november they promised also:
Tune down AOE, and fix warrior (after that they did few ultra nerfs to warrior and few buffs to ele, guardian, ranger and others)
And now year and a half after i paid money, thay still nerf worst profession and buff other (already OP ones). There is no focus on PvP, there is no eSports (i dont care about this part), and thhre is no balance. It is Ok thqat thief can perma stealth or kill in 2-3 sec, it is ok that guardian, ranger or ele cant be killed, but it is not ok to make warrior viable.

It’s truly a fantastic reflection of the GW2 community at large, because they salivate over every single offering from the gem store and ready their torches and pitchforks at anyone who is critical of the devs or general direction of the game.

You won’t see dungeons being updated or new ones created because it isn’t profitable. Those who were doing dungeons got pulled to work on living story. The more living story chapters means more opportunity for RNG chests with RNG loot. It’s a bummer but they’re stuck doing what senior execs want.
Preface: I am by no means claiming this as fact. These are just the opinions of an (almost exclusively) Warrior main who spends most of his time in PvP. I am by no means a top player, but I do have a lot of experience regarding this class.
TL;DR, NOT EVEN THAT ACCURATE OF A REPRESENTATION EDITION:
Unless you've actually played it a LOT, nobody knows what's really wrong with warr; Other classes have amazingly bull mechanics when it comes to risk-reward; developers too timid to make any significant changes to warr, and when they do give small buffs, they feel the need to buff other classes, keeping Warrior at the bottom of the pile.
What do you take away from a fight with a Warrior? Most probably something along the lines of: “He did a lot of damage.” “Wow, he died fast.”
This lack of understanding of how Warrior works, from a perspective of other classes, leads to the main topic, misinformation. What makes a warrior tick? Why do they die so easily? You don’t know, because 8 out of 10 times you’re going to easily defeat a warr on any other class. It wasn’t even challenging or engaging! This problem is only made worse by how over time less and less decently skilled players run warr, even in hotjoins, so the ones you DO run across are terrible.
And thus, this leads to the spreading of misinformation. “Warriors are just a step away from becoming an unstoppable beast!” “Warrior’s only problem is condition cleansing.” “Warriors do so much more damage than other classes.” “Warriors are perfectly viable, you just need to babysit them!” “Warrior’s condition removal is fine as it is, you just need to run traited warhorn, 3 shouts, and soldier runes!”
Some people claim that warr is the “most balanced profession”. This is true! If you were looking at warr in a vacuum. High risk, high reward design? Check. Tells and animations you can react to and skillfully dodge? Check. Substantial loss in damage if you spec for survivability and vice versa? Check.
But what happens when you compare warr to other classes? You realize that the other classes don’t remotely follow this “balance philosophy”. Take Mesmer for example.
A GC warr’s most infamous burst combo would be to:
1) Pressure the opponent and bait out all their dodge rolls
2) Frenzy(Utility) to speed up 100b
3) Bull’s Rush(Utility) to controls the opponent and a gap closer
4) Endure Pain(Utility) if this was a teamfight to prevent melting due to Frenzy’s increased damage side effect
5) 100 blades (weapon skill) for frontal arc cleave burst damage
6)Whirlwind (weapon skill) for AoE medium damage
Now look at a GC mes’s most infamous burst combo:
1) iDuelist for a ranged volley, high damage, bleeds (weapon skill)
2) Dodgeroll for a clone
3) iLeap for another clone (weapon skill)
4) (Optional) Magical Bullet for a daze (weapon skill)
5) Swap for an immob and gap closer(weapon skill)
6) Shatter for AoE burst damage(Class Mechanic)
7) Blurred Frenzy for frontal arc medium damage(weapon skill)
Immediately there’s already something appallingly wrong with this comparison. Almost everything required for the Mesmer burst combo is built into the class on low cooldown weaponskills. Not only does their combo leave them free to choose whatever utilities they wanted, but what should be the most high-risk portion of their combo that roots them on the spot leaves them invulnerable 2 seconds. Both combos take approximate the same amount of time to execute, why is one practically cost and risk free?

This is just one indepth example. I shouldn’t even have to be so elaborate to point out the comparisons between warr and other classes. An ele’s healing and survivability? A thief’s peeling, gap closing, similar burst damage, and boon hate? A ranger’s dodge rate, regeneration, pet burst? A guardian’s blocking and invulnerability? A mesmer’s 20% minimum invulnerability uptime? And engie’s sustained aoe damage, control and ability to consistantly res himself?
What does warr have to compensate for an utter lack of those things? More healthpool? Slightly higher base defense? Being a meatshield does not make up for the sheer amount of damage, control, and conditions mitigated by simply being able to dodge twice as much. This leads up to my next point…
This refers to their “Slow and Steady” philosophy, as well as all the (wrong) feedback they receive making them afraid to do changes. The developers are afraid to overhaul mechanics, they are afraid to shake up the meta. Is a warr’s survivability going to be at a viable level by addding a few condition cleanses? No! Not untill Every class has it’s mechanics brought in-line with warrior’s (invulns, risk-reward ratios, get out of jail free cards) or the warrior’s brought up to theirs, will it be viable. But despite all the evident flaws I can list out when comparing warr mechanics(cough Brawn cough), this isn’t the thread for that.
And that’s why Warriors will never be viable unless Arenanet stops being so timid with their changes.

So far, we only seen AC to get the treatment. meanwhile, several other dungeons remain with boss featuring boring facetaking mechanics, bad rewards and huge hp sponges/time wasters(dredge fractal comes into mind).
Has this been completely forgotten? Sometimes it feels that because of the current trend of living story, we aren’t getting any more love to the other departments of the game. No more new paths, no more items, no more nothing. It really saddens what has come to happen, because i really enjoyed the new AC. Robert Hrouda used to post here almost everyday, and now we barely see him anymore.
How big is the Arena net team? Because if these small festival events are all they can produce with about 6-7 months I’m worried for the future of the game. Seriously, is Dragon Bash the combined effort of the entire team? Or 4-5 members? I’d hope it was the latter, I can’t imagine it was that hard to create the event. Seeing as a lot is copy and paste, even the flying dragon is a copy of the shatterer flying through the skies in the charr areas… I’d like a statement from arena net promising that we will get better content than this boring, lame stuff. Sorry to sound like an kitten but it’s not great.

It’s a lie, you guys did not finish this in that update. I also finished the new story now and i got 8 achievements done. I dont have the wings yet and it says i have that achievement done for 80%

Nobodies has changed so yea looks like they really messed up on that one if they haven’t actually implemented what they said they did. Well either that or they want to mess people around, which is also likely seeing as they said the dragonball achievements would count and didn’t mention anything about it till a week later.

Orr is the worst part of the game, and unless it’s completeçy reworked (and that is never going to happen), it deserves to be left to rot with no player in sight. I would rather have a lot of players in Queensdale than in Orr.
There’s no carrot on an ever increasing in length stick.
- Combat is kittening boring : just go full Zerk and spam dodge rolls, autoattack….
- Lack of skills: most of them are either useless or boring/uninspired , so are the traits.
- Lack of rewards.
- PvP: since GW2 is the successor of GW1 ( which probably had the best PVP ever made)I would have expected something way better than this boring conquest…. absolutely one the worst (if not the worst) PvPs I’ve seen in my entire life.
- DR
- RNG, RNG everywhere.
- Super casual.
- Ascended gear.

After me and many many people final saw glimmer of hope that this and future events had finally got a solid way for us to buy skins they introduce we only find that we have been cheated out of the money we WORK for again. youre fan love the art and design of these weapons but dont you understand, we can enjoy the event till we at least have one off these skins as it just feels like we have missed out on the most important and best part. i know you could say just dont buy them but i honestly thought we had a good chance of a drop this time. if your going to do this then at least tell us the drop rate fact instead of cheating us. i know alot of people are heartened by this and i would be surprised if a lot of people quit now. this is not the way a GAME should be ran. seriously, i would rather you not put any skins in at all.
Stealth is definitely overpowered. It’s not invincibility, but it allows you to potentially be anywhere on the map seen from the perspective of your opponent.
Stealth allows you to regroup after a lost team fight and negate the other team the ability to scout and intercept, slow you down or apply pressure to you. Stealth also gives you the ability to initiate a fight and thus gain the upper hand, because your opponent can not guard both of their nodes with equal numbers.
For many this is accepted counterplay to a very strong position the winner of a team fight will usually find themselves in (being able to scout and react to an attack immediately or slow the enemy down from elevated positions while they are moving towards a node is very strong on many maps quite frankly).
However, being able to totally subtract yourself from the map and coordinate a full burst out of stealth is just beyond strong. We have a ton of abilities that deal instant damage and can be executed within half a second by multiple people. Mathematically right now 3 DPS classes can kill any target in GW2 before they can react (2 is usually enough for any target we see in tournaments). That’s why we are seeing more and more groups using stealth openers.
Now in my opinion stealth is important for some classes. For thieves and mesmers (less so imo) it is a defensive mechanic, that should not simply be taken away, especially in tpvp. Stealth becomes overpowered when it can be maintained for long periods of time (Shadow Refuge) or even permanently (smoke field + blast finishers). Stealth is also overpowered as an out of combat mechanic.
I would welcome two changes to stealth, but I’d already be grateful for one of them to be implemented, as I am not greedy:
1. Stealth can not be stacked
2. Stealth only works, if you’re in combat
