1. More feedback in threads from relevant development team members
2. Better focus on the topic at hand/less off-topic discussion
3. More transparency of the CDI meetings. (What are you guys discussing? What has no chance of making it in the game? What suggestions are you taking seriously?)
“A release is 7 days or less away or has just happened within the last 7 days…
These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”
Solution: STOP TRYING TO BE AN ESPORT!!!
Actually I agree with Guhracie, the level/scaling mechanics in GW2 are one of the top innovations in the game and possibly the best in the whole industry.
No. No more wings and especially not ones like those suggested. The current wing models in game are all inspired with something existing there ( Tequatl, Shatterer, Bats). There are no angels or fairies in Tyria.
Temp-Content = Temp players
Long Term Content = Long Term Players
Let’s hope Anet figures this out, soon!
I no longer care either. My current time spent in game has dropped significantly because the Living Story has resolved nothing and is just meandering around accomplishing nothing but a tease at “grand plans” and to make permanent aesthetic changes to the world.
The year is pretty much over, I want some resolution. I want to know that all that we have done actually means something, and are not just excuses to spoon-feed us shinies by coaxing us to log in every day. Because I won’t do that.
I still care for this game enough, to read forums.
I still care enough for LS, to feel really bad that it’s burning good lore to the ground and replace it with utter bullskrit.
I still care enough for updates, to think “what will they screw now?” hours before release.
But with every nonsensical achievement I care less.
I no longer care about the Living Story updates, I really don’t.
I don’t care if I don’t get all achievements or minis.
Honestly, I’d rather wait 1-2 months and get no new content for 3-5 New Crystal Desert maps with new Dungeons and WELL WRITTEN story.
i’d rather forget about that
Same here. I wanted the fall of Abaddon but nope, the playerbase opted for Thaumanova and 4 weeks of cheaper waypoints.
Play the game, you can unlock it later, it’s not even a good skill.
What’s particularly appalling about this change is how it never made it to the Release Notes. Just a carefully stashed away nerf that ArenaNet was otherwise too embarrassed to admit. If it was just game balancing they would have owned up to it. No, the real and clear motivation is the hope that we’ll buy more gems with real-life money. Which is something I have vowed to stop doing and have succeeded for several months now.
Don’t be so proud about your dungeon speed clears and temple runs. Be assured that ArenaNet is coming after those next.
Oh, and as for Scarlet Invasions, much of the income came from killing the champions so forget about that.
If a developer is unwilling to grind the requirements then they should not expect their player base to either.
I have never played an MMO that has required that much grind just for a few festival items. Hopefully Wintersday will be better, but I am not optimistic.
The loot in the game is already horrible and yet you lower it.

So another stealth nerf that anet claims they don’t do? that’s just lovely.
Dragonbrand – Level 80 – Human Ranger
I was hopping they used one to cover roxs’ face
from an 8 year old game. No excuse GW2. None.
Yah it seems the living story is all about gurlpower. Scarlet in the spotlight, Queen Jenna in the spotlight, Marjory, Lady Kasmeer, Kiel.
Logan and Faren only make an appearance when they need someone to fail (comicaly).
Some more character diversity would be great.
Just look, all living world heroes are female – Queen Jennah, Marjory, Kasmeer, Elen Kiel, Roxx and few more i already forget names.
And all male characters are Rytlock (didn’t even participate any party of Living world), Logan and Lord Faren (well, and Braham, but meeeeeeeh, he don’t even look like a man).
God no. No more freaking wings.

The writing is truly getting worse and worse.
Did you ever stop and think that in order to do the Halloween finisher achievment some people didn’t want to go into either WvW or the heart of the mists?
Sometimes when they implement things such as this it is to try to make the purely PvEers happy. Maybe deal with it for now and when the Halloween is over then complain. For now though I am sure many players that didn’t know how to complete the achievement will be happy they can finally do it.
I am still holding out hope that there is more to halloween…
Everything I loved about GW1 in a living, persisting world.

Request: Questionarie at the end of every living story, like the ones you had in the open beta.
Reasons: You’d get more player feedback instantly, forums can never compare to that.
forum dwellers would go nuts about the need to
“grind” to get exp, new swords, new potions etc
GW with GW2 graphics and action style combat.
Please give me the option to play without this tremendous amount of particles!
I don’t need them!
Really.
Hey Colin,
I would like to see Anet address the insane particle effects.
I can never anticipate when to dodge the statue of dwayna attacks because of this. You can barely make out the enemy model. Particle effects are nice and all, but in gw2 they are overly done. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this issue in any mmorpg I’ve played.
Thank you for posting this! Temple of Dwayna event seems bugged because the effects are 1000000000000x it’s normal size and flashes on the screen at an obscene rate, I’m really surprised no one has had a seizure.
I know its bad, when Anet told us about the new option that will limit particle effects I was excited. But when I actually tried it, I found it no different than it was before. Its quite disappointing.
There are no casting bars in gw2, so anticipating when to dodge is done by looking at the enemy’s animations. Unfortunately this is proven to be impossible when you have particle effects on bosses like the screenshot I posted.
I can state firsthand that the only thing I’ve seen cause a seizure from this game is the Flamethrower effect. Something about it, it strobes. This is bad. My wife is epileptic, and it’s caused one seizure already. Nothing else in the game does, though I agree the particle effects are BAD.
They need the “tone it down” button to actually, you know, change anything. Then we need a customisable UI – let me move the components, resize them, outright remove them if I don’t want them on my screen. Please?
The particle effects is the biggest problem. They really should address that
