Please give us an option to disable right-click targeting. It is incredibly irritating thing losing your target because you want to look/move around !

this would be a welcomed change. swiveling the camera and accidentally targeting something i had no business to, then slapping em silly is such a pain. so instead of dealing with 2 or 3 aggro’d jotun, i now have a moa and a snow leopard chasing me; because my rifle pierced an accidental target.
The problem with GW2’s targetting is that it fires onMouseDown, not onClick.
Targetting should be activated onClick, for left clicks only.
onMouseDown should do nothing, in of itself. You should always wait to see what the player’s going to do with the mouse next, whether he’s going to drag and hold (obviously, he wants to turn, not select), or if he’s going to click, (probably wants to select).
Tie targetting to onClick, not onMouseDown or onMouseUp.
I strongly agree. Until I saw the reddit page, I didn’t even know that right click could target (because that’s really unintuitive… left click and tab work fine for targeting, and if you’re rotating the camera -shame if you’re using A and D- then it’s pretty unlikely that you can see what you want to attack. Hence turning the camera). But NOW I know that right click targeting has been the source of all my dropped targets.
Seriously in almost every fight I would just lose my target sometimes, and be completely confused. I thought it was a bug until now. Anet, please add this feature.
edit: my 2 cents, making right click target on release would be awful, since you can’t see the cursor >.>
