So, you make a new thread to trot out an old one (basically, a bump), insert an unpleasant subject line, and consider this worthy of discussion? No. Regurgitation is effective for cows; doesn’t work so well with forums.

Also, it’s not fair or informative to post “facts” or “figures” that you can’t validate, particularly when, by all I can see, they were never said. Vague, “Yeah, they said they’d have flying bunnies in the next event” only has stature if you can point out who “they” was, and maybe give us a link to that statement. (BTW: There are no flying bunnies. Flying bunnies were used solely as an example. Thank you for heeding this addendum. )

There are individual threads about various subjects to which you can contribute, but I know your posting history, and I know you can do better than this. I know you can make positive, constructive comments. Do that. Not this.

A fix is currently being prepared for this issue.

While the behavior (design) of this event was acceptable in the past, changes in the game over time have created an environment around this event that has become increasingly toxic (for the community) due to unintended use/change of mechanics.

Players should not feel that they are in the wrong for completing an event (or event chain), and that is what is happening with this event. The respawn timer for this event will be significantly increased.

Note that going AFK with a ranger with it’s pet out near a spawn location can be considered as unattended play.

Funny, I remember reading a reply from Gail that said that was the cause for one ban.

I do not recall ever having said such a thing. I have made many posts about unattended play, and about the use of third-party programs, but I cannot see myself making such a statement and do not believe I have addressed this situation at any time. If you can find the exact post, I would be extremely grateful.

That’s what I did yesterday, ticket numer 834824. No answer :-(

One day is a short time. They get thousands of tickets a day. Each new one goes to the bottom of the pile then works it’s way up to the top, where someone reads it and starts working on it. Typically most people get a first response from a person within 24 hours and are fully resolved by 3 days. You just need to wait a bit longer.

This is correct. If you have not been helped in three full days, you may post in the sticky “Tickets for Review” thread.

There is no obligation on the part of ArenaNet to give “proof” of misbehavior. The game logs are confidential, and they will be reviewed privately for possible error. That is why we allow someone to file an appeal, but once the case has been reviewed, it’s closed. We do not entertain continued “But I didn’t do it!” claims when, in fact, in the vast majority of cases someone did do it, and that’s why the account was closed.

We’re reasonable about appeals, and we are always willing to admit if we make an error. The percentage of those is very, very small when compared to the number of accounts that are closed for cause: cheating, exploiting, or, most of all, account theft and real-money trading.

If someone needs help, they are permitted to make a single request, or have someone make a single request in the Tickets for Review thread. That is the extent of one’s forum privileges. Not making separate appeal threads. Not posting repeatedly. Not having multiple people post on one’s behalf. Not putting up a petition for someone else and soliciting additional posts in protest of a clock.

Ultimately, and again, in most cases the appeal in that thread results in nothing more than verification that the action taken was indeed correct.

I want to point out this ticket is less than 30 hours old. Please give it time.

If this is the guild I recall — and given the tag, I believe it is — I’m quite surprised that you’d be asking a question about the guild’s disbandment. The name was offensive, the tag was offensive, and the guild ranks were offensive. They were intentionally, crudely, unacceptably wrong in direct violation of several components of the Naming Policy.

This thread is locked, and I strongly suggest that if you reform as a guild, you consider your guild name and guild tag very carefully. At some point, those who choose offensive names risk account suspension, even account termination.

There is no point in doing so. Everyone who reviewed this case agreed the name was offensive. and there is no room for appeal.

I am sorry if you are confused. I believe that the agent who sent you that response misspoke. Here’s the skinny:

• Please report offensive character names in the game.
• Please report offensive guild names or guild tags in a ticket.
• For guild names or tags, we need the following:
  • Guild Name (exact spelling)
  • When possible, a character or display name of a member of that guild (this is golden for us)
  • Guild Tag (Unfortunately, we can’t review tags without the guild name OR a character or display name of a member)

I hope that clarifies the matter. I will ask our agents to be sure they are making a distinction between the report of a guild name and a character name, and that they handle guild name or tag reports directly from the ticket but only ask those making character name reports to use the in-game report system.
