Next time you do a image like that you need to show everyones rank at the end.

Hotjoin is notorious for team stacking, where all the good players stack on one team while the newbs are on the other team.

Without knowing the ranks you cant really say anything.

This img is perfect example.

Read my post before posting. Cheers.

Here is a link to an album, http://imgur.com/a/WLpUt – Draw your own conclusions, if you can’t I’ll help you along.

The album has images from the start and end of the game with their respective ranks.

Thanks.

So here we have a hot join server which has a team of 8 necros. What comes to mind is something that John Peters said something along the lines of “If necros are OP why don’t we see teams of 5 necros.” Oh wait, did I just play a game against 8 necros? I’ll let you figure that one out. Are necros OP or are people simply playing a class which is presumed OP and they seem to synergise really well? Are the opposite team simply ~4x more skilled?

Well let’s take a look at the scores; I am top of my respective team. How did I manage that, well you can see from the scoreboard that I achieved this position by capturing points after the necros left them open. I thoroughly enjoyed this game it made me really think about positioning and has enhanced my knowledge of the game vastly. Oh wait it hasn’t. My team struggled to even down one of these necros, they acted as a pack and when one went down they spammed fears and general conditions and healed their teammates.

So it seems as a general guide to all new players looking to grind out some glory the most effective way is to make a necro and run 30,30,10. You have access to almost every condition in the game and you’re able to spam so many conditions on players that they are unable to cleanse them. This is the game which has been created from the June patch. It has made necros the best class to farm glory. Don’t even get me started on how bad the PvP rank system is and how badly we are rewarded compared to PvE. Especially considering how GW2 is supposedly trying to be a PvP Esport. I genuinely find it quite amusing when so little progress is made in PvP and when it is, it is hardly tested and takes a good month to push out.

Seriously people…necro Tier S, can’t you dodge those wells and time your condition cleanse? I can get killed sometimes by condition spike if the necro is assisted, but the current builds they use are very squishy anyway.

Currently playing s/d ele : 0/30/0/20/20 and bow/axe/shield warrior: 0/30/30/0/10 and can kill necros in both instances ( really the new warrior traits are great, of course the ele ones also)

I can guarantee you that a good condi necro will destroy you on your ele/warrior. Add me for a 1v1 I’m not very good at necro but I’ll give it a shot.

Balance - first impressions after the patch

Necros are extremely over powered right now. If you run 30,30,10 you’ll absolutely destroy anyone 1v1 if you have half a brain. There may be the occasional loss if you pass out for a good 5 seconds but that’s about it. The fact that they can easily pull off 15 bleed + a kitten load of other condis in less then 2 seconds makes condi cleansing almost impossible. They have become guardian killers 1v1, soldiers runes + shouts and pure of voice doesn’t even compete with a competent necromancer.

As for the guardian patches they’re a joke. Lets make some changes to Zeal the only trait line in which no guardians play because spirit weapons aren’t viable TPvP. The movement of the greatsword healing trait to master is also a joke. It heals ~75 per hit or something ridiculously low even when using clerics. WP ArenaNet.

Oh yea, it’s probably worth mentioning that they’ve ruined Rangers and I doubt they’ll be in the meta at all.

I’d continue but I know my ranting won’t achieve anything because the Devs don’t understand the game.

Shadow Returns Bugged

I honestly don’t even see how this needed “fixing” in the first place. No one ever complained about porting spots and their usage…It’s not OP by any means.

Just seems trivial to “fix” these things…almost as trivial as fixing tooltips when there are so many other balance issues in the game at the moment.

Again, the only skill I see that needed a nerf was infiltrator’s strike, which was spammable and allowed you to travel vast distances with a choice of shadowstepping right back to the original spot. (Cruuk was the prime example of using this method)

Shadowstep a a skill, needed absolutely no fixing.

It is nice to know that I’m not the only one who notices the serious amount of trivial bug fixes. Guys, here we go after a month of work we’ve rewritten 10 tooltips to accurately represent what they actually do.

We are aware of Phase Retreats z-axis issues as well. As for the bug fixes on teleports, we don’t wan’t people teleporting through walls except with skills like shadow return. If you can port through a wall, then it is most likely not intended.

So essentially the intention for the patch was to stop guardians from teleporting into clocktower. Such a vital nerf, I don’t know how I would have lived with it for much longer. I don’t see why teleporting through a wall is not intended and you’re saying teleporting skills such as shadow return is intended.

I read the changes made in the recent patch and to be quite frank. What the …. Happened. I do love the transparency, State of the Game – is all I have to say. Looks like it’ll be next month until something gets done.

The changes preventing the teleporting into Kyhlo are ludicrous at best. If they were supposedly bugs why is it that it wasn’t made clear by the Developers that they were bugs. Experienced players have gotten used to it and if anything it adds more skill and variety to PvP. Having the ability to teleport into kyhlo as a guardian using sword 2/meditations is what makes offensive meditation guardian builds worthwhile. I personally thought that the general direction of the game was to add diversity to the builds and setups that people run.

In my mind it was clear that there were bugs with teleporting, friends of mine would repeatedly get stuck in walls or the floor when they teleported. However porting into mid on Kyhlo is a game mechanic that makes the map unique and fun to play. It doesn’t ruin gameplay it adds to it. It adds diversity in the game mechanics of the maps in rotation. The current PvP maps have their different mechanics which make them unique. The ability to traverse across Kyhlo so well by classes which can make use of teleporting made certain classes more viable in competitive play.

Personally when I play guardian I’ll run sword/shield/hammer when Kyhlo is in the tournament rotation, if it isn’t I won’t. This is an example of build diversity, people like myself change their build/weapon sets dependent upon the map. What I don’t understand is why you would want to nerf build diversity and core mechanics which make certain maps fun.

If any of the Developers have been watching any of the NA tournaments recently you should be very aware of the fact that the shoutcasters are in love with SupCutie. Why you ask yourself? Because of his portal/blink plays – a mechanic in which everyone loves. By nerfing teleports it makes the game more slow pace and less enjoyable for spectators. Especially when we’re supposedly eSports, make the game less fun to watch isn’t going to bring in the viewers.

Finally, how about we have some transparency about what we think is broken in PvP rather than playing “Whac-A-Mole” ( as you like to put it ) with what you think is a good idea. What bemuses me is the lack of touch that the Developers have with the game, simple things such as being able to name skills and traits correctly, to knowing what current Meta is. This is blindingly obvious when you watch pretty much any stream involving a Developer. Now I’m not trying to offend you, but chances are I have and chances are I’ll be infracted for this post for being “rude” or something to that effect. What I do understand is that Developers don’t have all the time in the world and that it can be difficult to get the opinions of people who play the game. This isn’t an excuse for bad judgement, there are plenty of opportunities for Developers to chat with the casual and the more serious PvPers, it only takes 5 minutes to hop into somewhere like Desolation Heart of the Mists and do a quick poll. Or you could speak transparently about it on State of the Game, or even use the forums and do a poll.

My point is that this outcry from top level PvPers and casual PvPers wouldn’t have even happened if there was some form of transparency. Next time there is a game mechanic that everyone is using, which shapes the way people play on certain maps that you think is broken; how about you discuss it with the people who play your game.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and I do hope you open your eyes and revert this horrific change.

If you are unable to get a hold of matty/momc you can simply message myself: Adam O and I’ll happily add you to the guild.

To add to the OP, we are currently involved quite a lot in TPvP so if that is what you are interested in The Syndicate is definitely the guild for you. If you are more inclined towards PvE we do frequent dungeon runs as a guild. We’ve also grown to around 180 members.
