Those bone fingers that knock you back. I had a good 15 mins yesterday sending my bear at them and watching it fly through the air. I was in fits of giggles

So we’ve found a good use for them!

Also, she’s Sylvari. We witness their childlike humor and behaviour across the game, as they are a very young race. I think this plays a lot into how she behaves.

Please, feel free to show me the multitude of female centric Asura outfits that I’m obviously missing Estic that doesn’t involve me buying more sets of T3 cultural armour. You can PM me them, as this is going way off topic.

Yes I know, I’m not that dim. But you wouldn’t find a Charr female wanting to be dressed different from the males, considering all that hard work they put in for equality. Whereas my female Asura Elementalist, Mesmer and Necromancer have very limiting options when it comes to wanting to look like a woman.

We all heard: “Why do I fight so hard for Kryta? You might as well question why I breathe. If I stop breathing, I’ll die. If I stop fighting my enemies, my world will die.” Plenty of times haha.

Exactly. It’s Anet’s game so they can do whatever the hell they want. For all we know they’re lying about the whole thing and we’ll get playable tengu.

If the cultural armor is as bad as the Charr, and if other armors are as fitted to Tengu as they are to Charr, I’d rather they refrain from doing that.
And if the armor is better fitted for a Tengu than a Charr, I’d rather they rework on Charr armors before bothering with another race.

I went into a dungeon for the first time on my ranger yesterday. I had no idea how useless pets were in PvE, it spent more time dead than alive no matter what I did with it.

I’m a serial clicker, always have been. Every new MMO I try with keybinds, and fail. Now I’m on a 20/80 split, with 80 being clicking. However I’ve been playing this way for so many years, it’s not a hindrance anymore. I click so quickly when my boyfriend watches he thinks I’ve hit keybinds!

I think it’s down to how you feel comfortable. If you’ve found a mix for you that works, don’t feel pressurised into playing 100% binds.

Just a warning though, not all JP achievements are portable, some require you to interact with items and thus only you can do it.

Would be nice. Especially for Asura/Sylvari. NPCs have such a wealth of shinies whereas half the time I feel like I’ve taken human clothes to be resized by my tailor when it comes to my asurans. (Minus cultural armour, mmmm)

Perhaps ANet devs have the same problem with the Sylvari character creator that we do… And now they’ve run out of character models. There’s only so many ways to look at a lettuce.

I think the issue here might be that you’re a signet warrior…

I’m assuming by ‘that’ you mean level up so quick? I find players who don’t have the time to play means that they’re working, which means they have more disposable income. Stock up on Gems and convert, then use a crafting site like : www.gw2crafts.net : to make sure you get the most from your money. Level through crafting, then craft your gear. Dead quick and easy.

If I don’t craft it takes me about a weekend to level up an 80 just zone running.

Here’s my little cheeky guardian, I just dug out this picture!
I found the trick was to create the outlines in a neutral colour, then fill it in with your colour of choice, choosing the neon version of your colour, be it red, blue, green etc, to highlight the light sections.

It really is beautiful armour. I levelled this guardian simply to have an excuse to own it!

This game is free. Normally in an MMO market we would be paying a sub each month, possibly even two or three depending on how many we like to play. GW2 has blown all my other MMO games out of the water, and now my sub money goes on gems. Convert those gems to gold and you can level a character to 80 in an evening.

This is what I did for this content. My boyfriend runs a regen/evade ranger which laughed its way through the gauntlet achievements. Despite having thirteen 80s already I went ahead and levelled an asura ranger and geared her in a night. Just to do this. Now I’m sitting pretty and happy.

There’s no excuse really, is what I’m saying. This game is easy as pie across the board. It doesn’t require hours and hours of playtime, as you can max level and gear up in a couple of hours. If gauntlet achievements are that important to you, it’s easy to make them happen.

Because its nice to have. I bought gems in advance like I do every update just incase there’s something shiny I fancy. This time there wasn’t so I figured I’d have a pass instead. It’s amazingly useful apart from the fact you only get ONE, as a girl with 14 level 80s and counting – having to go to a bank, to put it in, to take it out, to go into, to visit a bank… Well it kinda defeats the point.

Needed to be account wide!

My first thought was though, it’s like having a GUILD HALL! One click and I’m straight into all the amenities I could ever need (minus class retraits, but you can always waypoint for free to Ministers) it was such a breath of fresh air not waypointing to Rata Sum all the time.

In conclusion, it’s great, I will probably buy more if it continues past the jubilee. I just wish it was an account wide pass, rather than account bound.

I didn’t think it was a bug, I just thought it was to bring your attention to the fact the event is active, naturally players would seek out the source, and thus it brings people together.

Only time I ever crash is if I swap characters too quickly, go figure. Nothing freezes up, it just closes and pretends nothing ever happened >___<

Will give your troubleshooting steps a go when I can get a minute on my PC, boyfriend here for a couple of weeks and I’m struggling to get time in between his gauntlet challenge achievements and manic champion hunting! Being a GW2 couple rocks.

There are daily achievements related to the event that count towards it. Look on your daily panel at the ones with the living story symbol

I’m currently unable to complete gambit achievements due to the NPC not giving me any options to choose any? I’m wondering if this is just me being dim here, it wouldn’t be the first time – I have tickets in my inventory, I’ve tried queuing and then adding, challenging, queuing, trying to add etc, nothing seems to work.

It’s not just one character as I am attempting the achievements on multiple classes/races

Any fixes or work arounds would be greatly appreciated!

I was wondering this. I’ve done 4 or 5 I think now, with them tied to the balloons I think getting the final one is going to be a headache haha, as for keeping track, I wrote down which ones I killed, as I killed them. It pays to have an addiction to notepads haha.

If you have a password, you do not get progression.

So I bought one!

Turns out you can’t use it to farm the PvP achievement points, doing things like setting a password or lowering the length of a match, number of players etc turns your arena into a no progression zone.

At first I raged out that I’d spent 1600 gems on something that I thought was effectively worthless to me, but after a bit of twiddling with it and figuring out more about how it works, we got on just fine getting our achievement points. We put private in the name, which most people respected which was nice! Those that didn’t got kicked swiftly, which I deemed fair as we were labelled private in big letters hehe.

It was also good to spend more time looking at the PvP browser in more detail, we had a good look to see what other people were using custom arenas for and it was great to see 1v1s and training etc

At the end of the day we had a good laugh, so it was worth it

Since the new achievement points reward came out I’ve been steadily tidying up those points I was missing. Its got to the point where a large chunk of my missing points come from spvp. The same for a few of my friends.

If we were to buy a custom arena and lock it, could we get our points against each other without bothering anyone/joining the random hot joiny thing hell hole? Or do wins in these arenas not count to prevent this?

My best friend plays GW2 1 handed. She’s had no trouble getting her quartz node from this living story content. Only JP she’s ever had to have someone log on for her (my boyfriend) was the clock tower. Other JP achievements around the world are either not hard, or require a friendly Mesmer. Personally if they are that important to you, and you have no physical impediment from preventing you from completing it, I think you’re just being lazy. It’s not like it takes a long time.

Edit: And experience decided to prove PRXM’s point. 4 of us tried taking Briar and Vale on WsR about 30 mins ago when a BT mini zerg (10ish people?) came by and crushed us. Without fail, they went after me and the other lowbie ele and used us as a free rally to kill the others in our group.

Everything is a learning experience in WvW. What I expect of PRXM is to set an example of what can be achieved through coordination. I am always here to help and give advice where it is wanted, and if I don’t know the answer, I will find someone who does.
That being said, I don’t condone the attitude of said member towards you. I will only add that frustrations often spike in WvW, and as such tempers can get away from people. PRXM are friends first and foremost, and while several of our members can swear like a champions in our raids, such unwarranted language towards people outside the guild is not tolerated.

22 is considered a brilliant turn out for our lower tier WvW guilds. Like Fab said above, 15 members is something that is regular, anything above is considered a bonus! If you hit over 25 you’re zerging tbh haha

The only stuff you need laurels is the Amulet? Is this correct? Rings and other stuff you could get from doing PvE stuff like Fractals and Guild stuff with the commendations.

Amulet = 20 Laurels + 250 BoH
That means doing your monthly, and ten days of daily.

Accessories = 12 Guild Commendations each.
We are a WvW only guild and have had no trouble completing all the Guild Mission upgrades. Every Sunday we take a couple of hours to run through them, which gives you 6 Commendations. That’s twos accessories a month.

Rings = Rank Chest or Fractals tbh.
Join a Lvl 10 Fractal Daily run until you are lvl 10 yourself. AR is moot. Do the Fractal Daily each day during a quiet time in WvW = a chance of a ring + pristine relic. That means a guaranteed ring every 10 days + extras in rank and daily chests for alts.

Back piece = Fractals Only.
Running Fractal Daily means you will get relics building up for the capacitor. But that will take time. Your other choice is to use the forge to make one using a Vial from Fractals, but that takes 250 of your chosen T6 material plus ecto.

I personally have 13 level 80s and 19 character slots right now. The way ascended gear lends itself to have one character is frustrating for a player like myself. But if you have had time and the dedication to level that many. Doing your daily is a blip on your playtime radar. My way of gearing my characters with ascended means only using 20 Laurels, if you can’t get that many of them, you’re just lazy! Haha

I wouldn’t say there would be lots of players with 13 level 80s… but wow, i have to say you got more than your money’s worth from this game.

19 Character slots overall

This game has so much to give. I love the world exploration and lore. Each class is different, each build unique. I can theorycraft all day long without getting frustrated. Every aspect of GW2 I enjoy

And us altaholics are not so rare, I find GW1 vets tend to take advantage of GW2’s infinite possibilities when it comes to making characters. Theres also few of us in our guild with many many alts geared, simply to cater to whatever the WvW guild raid needs.

Back on topic.
Either make dailies character based, so I can do them for each one. Or increase what I can buy with other currencies! Thanks

I don’t believe the issue is with the actual daily/monthly laurel system. It works just fine for those who are doing open world PvE, which I believe it was intended to reward.

The issue is with ascended items being limited to certain things.

I should be able to get a back piece, an amulet, rings and earrings from any of the following:

- Laurels
- Fractals
- Guild Commendations
- WvW

Playing the way you want to play should then reward access to ALL ascended slots, yes?
Also those players like myself who have 13 level 80s would be able to do all of the above to get our characters fitted out rather than feeling punished for being an alt lover.

The biggest nightmare in this game where something feels like a chore is when I need an ascended back piece, then I need to find a group to go into the hell hole that is the Fractal thingies. As a WvW guild leader, it’s impossible unless I pug, which is far too painful. Give us another way to get back pieces please for the love of turtles.

We set up our guild missions with one commander per party as we prefer to find our bounty targets while the timer is ticking. Each party has a dedicated area of the map to cover. Once someone has found it, that persons party commander pops their tag so we can use it as a guide to all meet up.

Apart from this, can’t think of a use for them in PvE. However, Gunnars has nights where our PvE guilds run the Orr temples and so a tag or two is used to direct and herd folks around who get lost!

In any other zone, I find whispering them with something as simple as “hey mate, don’t know if you’ve noticed but you still have your tag up!” Works very well. 9/10 I get an apologetic reply saying they simply didn’t notice it was still up, so they forgot.

I have characters specifically for different types of farming, be it open world or dungeons. Extra exotic weapons for bonus sigil damage. I have spent time and money on that part of the game to make it as efficient as possible when I take the time out to do it. Is it such a crime to want to play with others who have shown the same level of dedication? Why should I spend all that time and effort only to play through with a slow party, it would be pointless

I run a WvW guild. You apply to my guild with a CoF zerker warrior and you’re going to get laughed out the door. Same way I would expect to be laughed out of a farming group with my tanky WvW specced characters.

I wouldn’t label either past time elitist, it’s simply being efficient.

Match reset is at 6:00pm UTC, Devon states the JP resets at 12:00am UTC. So it wouldn’t work before and after reset. According to this, it should reset at the time time as my daily quest, I’m quite happy to test this tonight

When the going is good our fair weathers come out of their PvE holes.
