My Ele is being shelved till this is fixed, it’s just too horrible to play with.

I logged back on the forums, simply to read the dev response. Horrified there isn’t one.

So unhappy right now, I don’t want these huge ear flaps.

Every time I go into combat, my shoulder sticks through these ugly chest flaps.

You do not need a guild of 100 players to do this! A guild of 10-20 can do this without a hitch.

The problem we would have as a guild of 10-25 people online, was that we had zero reason to meet up for content outside of WvW events. Forming a dungeon group always meant someone was left out. I see dungeons and Fractals as small guild content which we can’t do together unless they upped the amount of players allowed in. Guild Missions fills a gap for us, as we can take as many people as there are online to complete, everyone will be able to have a laugh on comms together, and it’s much more than just us all being in the same JP. We have to coordinate.

We are not a large group of hundreds, instead we fill the middle ground that a lot of guilds do. I would go as far to say, working as it was intended. Filling the gap that was needed for guilds who were not in dungeons because they are too small.

Yes they take a while to unlock, but we are here for the long run. How many years did we play GW1. We don’t want it all unlocked in a couple of months, we want something that keeps us going for the long months and years that we have planned to play this sequel.

I empathise, I do. But small guilds of 2-5 have dungeons and fractals, let us medium guilds of 10-25 have guild missions ):

I’ve run my guild since launch, at launch we were roughly 50 of mine and my partners close friends from across the MMOs we have played. Sadly, because we came from a raiding background, most left within a month or two. We were left with a very quiet guild of around 5.

We used our influence wisely, and we did the majority of all the guild upgrades. Recently, about a month ago, we decided to go all-out with a couple of in game friends, and now we are a guild of around 30, I’d say we have between 15 and 25 on a night, mostly for organised WvW raiding.

When we heard about the guild missions, we were worried that we wouldn’t get anything to help in our WvW focused guild. Today when it was brought up in Guild chat about the costs, those online put what spare cash we had together to get the influence we needed, about 4 to 6 of us.

We were delighted when we logged in to find that Art of War provided up with a 24hr reduced repair costs buff, fantastic for us and we immediately started with the Guild Bounties upgrade, and set off into the wilderness to find some of the spawn points for them.

My point is, it’s about point of view. We have been a 5 man guild since not that long after launch, and we were ready for this. Our guild upgraded, and the influence needed acquired – we also ran full guild buffs on Garrison today. Our influence outgoings were crazy. It was exactly what we wanted from it.

I still consider us a small guild, and I know that we won’t be the only ones perfectly happy with the update. I sympathise guys, I know some two man guilds etc and our initial reaction in guild chat was that we were looking forward to share with the Gunnars Hold community – we are sad that we can’t share the rewards – I would like to see this change.

Be patient, Arena Net are building for the long term. This is something you need to work for, to get that feeling of achievement when you finally get there. I feel for those guilds who had to move from dying servers and leave their hard worked on upgrades behind though.

Pretty much sums up how I ended up being a WvW addict.

I’m not a dungeoneer, do you only get tokens at the end of a ‘path’ ? or could you kill the first boss on a ‘path’ to get a smaller amount and do it once a day?

I dont want any dungeon armour, I craft for a reason, I just want those 500 elusive tokens towards a Legendary.

I’m a PvE player at heart.
But after you’ve maxed your crafts, got all classes sorted, and realised dungeons and fractals are no way in hell the kinda content you want to be playing. WvW provides the perfect dynamic environment for ALL players who have been with you since Beta. Not just the dedicated WvW crowd. I think the glaring WvW issues are hitting more of the player base than folks realise.
And no, I don’t haunt the JPs (:

Then run FotM. What exactly is it you people want? What other MMO hands out top-tiered items for nothing? ANet is giving you the traditional method to obtain them (run dungeons), and they’re giving you an alternative, casual-friendly method of obtaining them, long-term though it may be.

I don’t want them for nothing, I’m prepared to do my daily quests per character. At one laurel a day. It will take the time ANet have already implemented to get one piece for each character, I’m not asking all the laurels go in the same pot so if I have 100s of chars it’s suddenly super easy. I’d just like the equal opportunity to do this new method for every character, not just one.

My problem is just linking the dailies account wide. If I could have a laurel count on each character bound to them, I could do the dailies 6 or 7 times so they can all work on their ascended gear. As it currently stands I have to pick one character to be favoured and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. When you have a few characters in full exotics, how do you pick one to work on this new tier? It’s going to take me years.

Totally agree with this. I like the flexibility of GW2, I play 11 characters. How am I supposed to get ascended gear for all of them??

Log in.
Wander down past Shaemoor Garrison in Queensdale.
Pick up all the Copper Ore and Trees around Windloss Delves.
Take a splash in Lake Devlan just a hop skip and a jump north.
Kill all of the numerous drake.
Head to crafting bench of choice, refine copper and wood.

Scratch your head as you realise combo fields wasn’t as simple as first thought.
Proceed to try every combination as a melee class.
Give up and log your Ranger and complete in 5 mins.

How my post-update GW2 life went. It wasn’t that painful.

This thread is painfully embarrassing to read regardless of which server you are on this week. I’m just thankful that the people here are just a small contingent from each server, and not representative of what those servers are actually like.

I’d just like to say that there is a very very large portion of the Gunnar’s community that do not use these forums frequently, and if they do come on out of interest, they don’t post.
I’d just like to speak up for those people who aren’t mouthy online, who were given the chance to talk to Chaos with an open mind and a look towards the future of our server as a whole.
It was not just WvW guilds represented in the Mumble and server forum discussions, those of us more inclined to PvE activities were given the chance to voice our objections, knowing the impact Chaos’ previous reputation would have on a server who has worked hard on its core values.
Chaos gave us every opportunity to say no, please don’t come. But the discussions were mature and productive enough for us to see it would be to the benefit of everyone involved.
I am very proud of my WvW friends, for what they have achieved against the odds, and I can only see it as a good thing that guilds have enough respect for that to contact us prior to moving.

Gunnars is a place of friends. For example, Tichai who has posted above me. I have heard him often in Mumble, but we do not talk. However, if I went to him to ask about WvW tactics, or builds, or any kind of advice, I’m safe in the knowledge that he, and the people around me will not rebuff me, and will instead support me and help me.

Its a long post I guess, but I felt it needed saying that GH is more than a prominent few outspoken forum users who do not represent the feelings of all of us. Thanks for reading, Aisi x

You definitely feel at an advantage playing as an Asura…
As such I have two mesmers, an Asura for WvW and a Sylvari for PvE.

Elementalist is my main, and as an Asura I feel a lot more fluid with my movement and evasion than with my larger characters. I can be a flipping, bouncing ball of mouse like irritance.

Hiding in Norn warriors is definitely amusing.
