The drums are OK. Even better if you got a syncopated group that acutely practiced, and not just beat the heck out of them. Can you say tips?

What really was annoying was when the horn first cam out and people just blared them with no melody in mind. What this boils down to is the lack of practice. I applaud the instruments, but people PLEASE practice before you unveil your hidden musician!

My favorite is the flute.

@Developers. Please add sharps and flats to the instruments….

Also, I understand that you’re upset that your Mix-and-Match selections will be more limited than before. I don’t blame you for that. My issues lies with people not fully reading the information and then exaggerating what is actually going to happen.

We know the fate of less than 10 items in this upcoming feature. That isn’t enough to fly off the deep end and act as if every single last item is being ruined for those that bought them. I feel like this thread would have gotten more hands on attention from Curtis and/or the other Devs, if more posts had offered constructive criticism and mature explanations about player dislike.

Anyway, I sincerely hope that, come Tuesday (or whatever day it is for the rest of the global players), the Town Clothes changes end up being far better than predicted and that those of you that are hard core role players aren’t messed over too horribly. I also hope that the Devs see how important the Mix-and-Match abilities are to so many of you and vow to find a way to improve the system.

I also hope that this turns out better than predicted.

Have a great day videoboy!

Getting a Legendary

The black moa chick was fun and not particularly hard, obtain a Legendary that way would make it even less Legendary than it is now.
The only thing that should be removed is allow Legendaries to be bought from TP, and make precursor be like the black moa chick quest from GW1, besides the current ways of obtaining a precursor.

@Belzebu Of course the Moa chick was just an example, and the Legendary should be much harder. But it was given as an example for a better direction. Imagine a massive quest taking up to two years to get? But still on a non luck path. That would not only keep players on GW2 but find a fulling adventure.

I just loved the Black Moa Cick adventure and well yes Belzebu, your thoughts about making a black moa like adventure for a precursor is brilliant!

@ Videoboy
It is just not head pieces! It is mix and match towns clothes that most of us care about. Not even for armor.

Look I am in fashion and lot of the stuff here is not designed very well. So we like to mix and match to make a better look (some of the people here are quite creative). A lot of the towns clothes will be turned in to tonics so they can not be mixed and matched, which is our concern.

The fact that Anet will not convert the current towns clothes in to “separates” to wear, is not very reassuring about new “separate” towns clothes for outfits.

Well the way it is now the casual player will not get one either.
I am not suggesting an impossible task. But what about something is is long and you need to work for, but still stay focused on the task. Versus dumping stuff in to a pool and hoping. I am looking for story here, and a way to be proud of your weapon.

I would even be happy if at the end of your personal story you got a ticket for an cool ascended weapon like in GW1. That was a fun way to get a cool weapon.

Angelica Dream.7103

I get that getting a legendary should be a rare or perhaps once in a life time event. In other words obtaining such an epic item should be, well epic. I love that.

I remember getting the baby moa chick in GW1. Not a quick and easy task. That was an epic pet that I was proud to show off. the beat part was you had to go on an adventure to get it. GW2 lacks that.

I wish that Legendaries were similar, in that you need to work for them. Not obtained by tossing rare items into a never ending waste basket, and then grinding for crafting items. ( Far form epic).

I do not have a Legendary, and not sure I really want one with the current system. I am have a much better experience with the Ascended items, and frankly some of the Legendary weapons are looking a little old.

While I am thrilled with the bulk of the changes that come with the wardrobe, I will be requesting a refund for all of my town clothes that I can no long mix and match, as they will no longer be functioning as they were sold to me.

This is my thoughts also. How can you say you will only refund town clothing made into tonics, when outfits will no longer be mix and match, which is a change we did not agree to when we purchased the outfits.

+1 100% agree

After all we bought this stuff to mix and match. Not as stand alone pieces

That said if they can not remodel the town clothes we already own, I do not have faith in your statement:

Town clothes don’t work with armor and wasn’t designed to be used in combat.

No. I just want the town clothes like they were before. Mix an match with each other (not armor). With the ability to be dyed with the same range of color options.

NOT Tonics

I GET that. It’s not that I don’t understand.

But you’re talking the short view.

Okay what if I told you you could have all the town clothes usable as before but youd NEVER get new town clothes ever. That would be it. For ever and ever, that’s it. No new town clothes.

They’re making a new system because the old one isnt’ sustainable. It’s not practical to keep two systems. They’ll introduce more stuff like town clothes, but stuff you can wear all the time.

Keeping the old system in isn’t practical no matter what people say.

Anet isnt’ making a decision for the past. They’re making a decision for the future.

If you logic is correct, then why do they not skip the tonics and replace the old town clothes with new ones that work?
Perhaps the new system is not better, but just a patch.

On capping Achievement points: Don't.

So what if I have 11,600 now?
…and again there will be no more reward chests once you get to 10,000?

The reward chests are based on total achievement points, daily, monthly, living world, and so forth. When you do a daily achievement, for example, Daily Gatherer, you get 1 point. If you only do your 5 needed for the daily achievement chest you will add 5 points to your daily total out of 10,000. Once you have achieved 10,000 points from daily tasks you will be capped and get 0 toward your overall achievement points.

So what is the incentive to do the daily? In fact the daily points were one of the things that kept me playing every day.
Wonder if I will be on every day after the cap is in place?

OK blonde moment here. I am not sure I understand what is going on here?
Though assume it is about the post “There will be a limit of 10,000 daily and 5,000 monthly achievement points,”

But in daily now I can rarely get over 11 points for daily. How can you ever get 10,000!

Also is there still no cap for getting Achievment Chests (Large, Heavy, etc)?

Thanks

As I understand it gem store town clothes will now become a tonic. I was a little disappointed with that decision. I had bought differnt outfits to mix and match to get diffent looks. Many of the outfits had parts I did not like and the mix and match fixed the problem.

The solution would be looking to how other games approched it. Star Trek Online gives all playes both a few armor and off duty outfit slots that can be switches at a click of a buton. All for free mind you. There is an option to buy more costume slots, which I did. All in all this method gives players a much more creative and fun outfit experience.

Simple solution:

Create a few PVP rooms with a two person limit. Rooms already have max limits so the coding should not be much more than changing a few numbers. Done

In GW1 we had a lot of fun just chatting and sparring. Until the guild hall are finally made this would be a nice addition.

Angelica Dream.7103

I have a friend that is on the fence about playing PVP. I was looking for an easy way to get in to PVP for him that is not too difficult to play. We tired out his Warrior PVE build with limited success:
http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQJARTnkO08YyDSBxEZAB9QDrCBUVwOSPKD0INA-jwxA4/ARQAoCKaZvioxWZLiGreBT9SEVDA-e

But PVP is so different I am sure the build is not as efficient as it should be.

So my two questions are:

1- Can you please help with an easy to play PVP build ( any video or description would be a plus for him. Since a build is just the starting point)

2- Does it matter if his PVE character is not L80 for PVE (as my Ranger build might work for him but his ranger is only L20)

Thanks for any help guys!!!

Zerg people bought the game too, and should be able to play how it is fun for them. It sounds boring to zerg all day, but if that is what they want it really does not harm anyone. Live and let live.

Remember this new fix steals away treasure from us Pve players too. I hardly ever die, and the new update hurts more than it helps all players. As fixing armor is either free or low cost for lower levels.
