indeed. nobody minds getting a forced update if it fixes issues (esp. with events) and its just a patch – not a massive game/content update – like this one. an update like this ideally ought to be on next login, or if it cant be it should be scheduled by geographical server location to occur after, say, midnight local time…

and no – this is not “most commonly caused by firewall or router settings” – it seems to be most commonly caused by the auth servers being down…
