There is no “PvP balance team” – there is only the balance team.

Why?

Why isn’t there a team for PvE a team for PvP and a team for WvW?
They are three very different game modes that function in radically different ways and skills and traits should reflect this?

Saying that the lack of trinity makes the game easier is incredibly stupid. The rules of a fight still apply, healing, taking damage, and outputting it. But to do all three in the more harder areas of the game, you need teamwork. If everyonr fights for himself, you will die in the more hardcore content.

No I’m pretty sure 5 zerker geared whatever can speed clear through all the content in this game. Teamwork in this game means being competent enough to not drag down your teammates.

But I already have. From AC to Arah, 1 mesmer/guard and 4 warriors. It’s very hard for things to hurt you when they’re being pummelled to death in seconds. But don’t take my word for it, look around at any speed clear vids.

All the characters in this game are incredibly poorly written, like something out of a grade schoolers fanfiction.

That said the most realistic/ones that I enjoy are Countess Anise and Minister Caudecus. Sadly all the non humans are 90% tropes of their race and nothing else, which is a real shame.

Brahms(sic) might have a chance if he can get over being dumped by his vapid fleshbag of a girlfriend.

If you were asking primarily about the personal story than I’d say they were all boring and trite(xD so random OMG APPLES of tybalt/sylvari lady/nornbrodude aside), with the vigil founder lady being slightly less (why does less and boring produce a filter, grow up whoevers in charge of these filters) boring and trite than the rest of them.

I just wanted to say that I was irritated when I saw how much people on here were slamming Scarlet. I think she is marvelous. The critical people just need to sit back and enjoy. The Queen’s Speech instance had me laughing out loud, marveling at the creativity of Scarlet’s minions, and just generally enjoying myself. It was a pleasure to play. So far, the Living Story villains as a whole—from the Flame & Frost bosses, to the Aetherblades, and so-on, have been great fun.

I’m happy that you’re capable of enjoying yourself on such a base level. Sadly, after absorbing a large amount of literature , comic book/scooby doo villians with paper thin motivations and see through agendas no longer “do it” for me.

Boxes dropped from Queen’s Gauntlet no longer contain coin. However, the first time you kill each boss each day will grant more coin than it did before.

Killing each boss once per day will be more profitable than it was previously.

Instead of earning upwards of 50g/day you will now earn a pitiful amount and be required to fight each of these gimmicky gladiators once UND ONLY VONCE per day, in keeping with the spirit of time gating.

One of the options you have is also to make the new loot soul bound (prevent mail sending) and not crafting mat till you actually “refine” it at a crafting place.

like that what ever the way you use to get that mat from the chest you have to send the actual toon that opened the chest back to a crafting place to turn it into a usable crafting mat that is not soulbound.
from there if you want to jump the puzzle again to parck your alt at the top it’s fine since you’ll actually jump it to the top.

for the mesmer port problem, not all the jP can be ported to the end, just keep the new rewards for those that cant be ported to!

Or I could push B go to my borderlands and log out, putting me right back at the top of the JP

then make it so that you need two different kind of soulbound unrefined mat to get one rifined not souldbound ascended crafting mat like that the same toon as to go to 2 different JP a day in order to get what you need

How needlessly grindy. Then I would just buy them from the tp from all the botters and hackers rather than waste time on boring puzzles.

T7 mats will be account bound. You won’t be able to wallet them…

Regardless, this is all extending from Markof’s crying over people parking at JP’s. Whichever way it’s done, it wont pose a problem.

Accountbound? Park 7-12 chars at JP chests.
Vendable? Buy them from the TP.

One is a timegating method that keeps people playing, the other is a gold sink. Either way players lose and anet wins.

This video is plain bullkitten, I have exact same items, runes, sigils, skills and build as he and I even used +10% crit dmg food and I still can’t kill him fast enough, I only lost my kittening gold and badges for exotics not mentioning 80 tickets, I’m attaching screenshot as a proof. If you want farm gold then pavilion zerg is the best and you can even use mf gear.

I’m not sure if you’re bad, trying to convince anet not to nerf it, or just sarcastic.

An endure pain/frenzy warrior in full zerk exotics with burst spec traits could load up 4-5 gambits and kill subject 7 in 10 seconds, making 50 or 60 silver.

30-40 silver considering you had to buy tickets, but yes.

1) Anet could make difficult and challenging encounters.
This is clearly too difficult and time consuming, not to mention a poor RoI compared to RNG boxes, so we can cross this off the list.

2) Anet could remove defiant
CC would actually be useful against bosses, but than you’d just need one warrior with a mace/shield and a hammer and 4 more with axes anyway.

3) Anet could add gimmick fights
More slow boring, lure X to Y so X can take Z damage for A seconds repeat ad infinitum.

I’ll just stick with Axe/Mace.

The portal is a one-time use consumable that effectively allows you to use a skill that is similar to the mesmer’s portal. We recognize that it’s a very powerful item, so the recipe is quite rare and takes considerable resources to manufacture.

So it’s basically a mesmer portal. Unless it lasts MUCH longer or has MUCH better range it seems completely useless.

If it wasn’t obvious, this item should be disabled in WvW.

Yes. They get wrecked the same as any other non mesmer/SD thief.

With say a dagger/siphon, wells that heal and give protection spec…?

If they’d given us vanilla, I’d be happy to. But that was the point I was making. The majority of necros I’ve spoken with never wanted Dumbfire (myself included). Furthermore, Iceflame predicted in this post exactly how the current nerf scenario would play out about a month ago; before we even had Dumbfire.

The consequence is we’re now being nerfed in other areas precisely because of the introduction of this trait that very few wanted. For all the non-necros wishing Dumbfire was never introduced, we have news for you; many (and very likely a majority) of necros don’t want it, either. We didn’t ask for it and when we got it we were like, “WTF?!?! How is this in any way keeping with our lore, our design philosophy, or the promises of improving our sustain?” A few flavor-of-the-month necros roflstomping in tPvP is not representative of the majority of the necro community.

Lastly, not every necro plays conditionmancer or hybrid. Those who don’t, don’t use Dumbfire. So we’ve gained no benefit from it, but now we’re going to suffer nerfs due to the perception that this trait has made necros OP. We were just beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel of long-awaited bug fixes and improvements to the profession. Now, we’re going to get nerfed back again. All because Dumbfire was forced on us when so few wanted it.

Let’s face facts, the DS nerf/spectral nerf was heavy handed. Once per second when you’re getting focused down by 5 people who are sick of you kittenting up mid with 3 bleeds, poison and chill, combo into weakness, fear, 2 more bleeds, 3 stacks of torment, immobilize 3 more stacks of bleed, and epidemic to double it all, is not a lot.

Does it suck for power necro’s, sure. I play a powermancer (in wvw) and now I can’t just eat a backstab from one of the 100 roaming thieves with my 10% life force. You me and every other necro is just going to have to suck it up and deal with it til their little PAX tourney is done and there’s another balance patch.

All of it you can dodge through with your limitless vigor. Shut up and eat your own pudding.

Nobody is dodging kitten when 4 marks, change to DS for enfeebling and epidemic come flying down on a point while you’re wrecking someone else.

im a noob if i cant dodge but u arent a noob if u cant clear conditions.
im a noob if my energie is empty cause i dodged 3 of the possible 6 ccs in the first 5 seconds. u arent a noob cause u still write long stories without realisation how op it is. maybe u realize it the next nerfbat that is for sure comming.

I think people that don’t bring condition cleanses are “noobs”, yes.
No warrior can get off 6 CC’s in 5 seconds. At MOST you could rush in with Hammer F1, than 4/5 than weapon swap for mace/shield stun. If you’ve already dodged 3 of these what are you still doing in melee range?

The more you go on the clearer it becomes that you are simply a poor player that refuses to adapt to a mechanic in the game since release.

I had believed it was intented for (artistic?) reasons. Activating a stunbreak while being launched from say Stomp and suddenly having both feet on the ground would be rather ridiculous visually.

so i got outplayed by a warrior if i loose. ok maybe u should pick ur brother in mind defektive and show me as a normal ranger how u defend yourself against a cc warrior with ur blinds and that many stunbreakers or dodges a normal not bunker spirit ranger has. maybe i change my mind if u manage to beat him under that circumstances.

your complete argumentation is invalid. u try to argument that cc is needed to counter condition spam. but cc is a counter to everything and in that amount atm op. there is also no need to always refer to necs or engis or condition spam. dont know u all dont want accept that. esp if i follow ur argument u demand that i choose my counter to cc wisely but neglate the use of conditionremoval wisely.

A “normal” ranger. Is that some way of saying that you are running a poor build?

Everyone starts out with two (2) dodges. As a ranger you have access to quite a few more on weapons like sword dagger (2 dodges and a huge leap), Great Sword (Evade at end of auto chain and a block), short bow has an evade on #3.

That said theres also traits that give greater passive endurance regeneration (not taking more dodge rolls is just silly) trait that gives vigor on heal, Lightning Reflexes , an evading stun break that also gives vigor. Furthermore there are also traits that activate on CC, like Hide in Plain Sight or the one that transfers a stun to your pet on a rather long CD.

As you can see there are A LOT of easy to access evades built into the class. Furthermore Longbow, Shortbow and Axe are all ranged while the warrior has ot get into melee to stun you. The warrior approaching without stability? Point Blank Shot, Hunters Shot, re position yourself and kite away.

Shortbow is rather obvious with it’s own stun, cripple and evade.

Furthermore you also have a pet which can be activated even when you’re stunned to do things like fear, knockdown, chill and blind.

In closing, if you’re still getting cc chained by a warrior as a ranger
a) a bad player that is incapable of dodging
b) been caught with your pants down, in which case anything would wreck you
c) playing a glass cannon build without proper damage mitigation through evades etc

cc is op not cause u can cc.. its op cause it shuts down every ppl that hasnt enough stunbreaks and even then its just a delay of time when the chain starts.. a necro cant fearchain xxxx hours.

That aside, if you are getting chain stunned by anyone you only have yourself to blame. Stun Break, Dodge, Stability, Blind. If you’re getting chain stunned by a warrior you’re not doing one of these things. If all of those options were on cool down than guess what, you got outplayed.

Maybe the warriors team mate softened you up, maybe you were getting focused down, maybe you’re just terrible at reading a warriors obvious animations. But if you get to the point where you’re stunned by a build specializing in stuns and you can’t break free because you have no stunbreaks/stability, your crying is about as foolish as complaining that staff ele aoe is too o/p because you couldn’t be bothered to move out of the circles.

When fighting one, it depends on my class and build. If I’m running anything boon heavy I’ll just hit him a few times and run towards my team. No sense trying to hit someone while they’re evading and while they can’t be punished with a CC/aoe since they can teleport away at will.

  1. Stealth offers many benefices
    You can go unnoticed, scout, have the fights start on your terms, disengage at will, stealth your alies, stomp enemies without they even knowing you were even there, revive allies, get behind the front enemy line, kill someone before they have a chance to retaliate. Comes with boons like regen, swiftness. Which brings me to the next point:

To throw in my two cents, some of the traits in Shadow Arts are just so ridiculously strong. Strong enough that I can reset fights or just toy with people that would otherwise completely push my poop in. eg , remove condition on stealth, regen on stealth, more regen on stealth, init restore on stealth.

Nobody wants their ez modo button taken away (and to be honest this is less of a problem in tpvp since S/D) but I just wanted to exacerbate the massive benefits stealth offers while having only ONE minuscule drawback.
